- In this Undertale mod, I have Sans's Gaster Blaster as a WEAPON that I can use against other enemies! The Gaster Blaster is insanely fun and entertaining to use, but is there a single monster in the entire underground that won't get instantly disintegrated by this crazy weapon?

I love how against Sans, the hit just completely broke the game. The soul, sans sitting down without a slash, the box going into the attack bar, just everything

The blaster doing damage multiple times probably exhausted Sans' dodge counter to the point where it just immediately skips to the point where you actually hit him.
And also ended up glitching the game because that's what happens when you hit him 22 time in 1 turn

A fun fact about Papyrus. It's actually heavily implied in an aborted Genocide run that he's capable of using Gaster Blasters. If you spare Papyrus during a Genocide run, then go and hang out with him, his dialogue is this:
"How lucky of you! Had I only used my special attack, you surely would have been blasted to... Hey. Wait. Where's my special attack?"
This pretty much confirms that Papyrus can use Gaster Blasters. But, knowing him, he probably doesn't use them due to him viewing such an attack as a last resort method. After all, the only real thing holding Papyrus back is his endless kindness. Take that away, and he could probably do some serious damage.
Revenge papyrus(old) is basically papaya without kindness

Fun fact: it actually IS implied that papyrus’s special attack is a gaster blaster.
If you abort genocide, he will say something about blasting you to bits, interrupting the sentence before it can finish. I can’t remember the actual dialogue, but that’s the gist of it

But in the actual game, the dog has papyruses special attack in its mouth, Which appears to be a bone. Good theory but probably incorrect

Weird thing is papyrus says his special attack would have ‘blasted’ the human after checking his box of attacks after hanging out with him when you spare him in a genocide route. On the contrary though, the dog holds a bone when papyrus says the dog stole his special attack. So he might have blaster or he might not.
There even is a line that says he prepared a non bone attack and spent a minute fixing his mistakes, so it could have been blaster or just a joke.
I mean... I feel like he just had a lot of abilities he called "Special Attacks". Didn't he also describe "making you blue" as a special attack?

Also I really thought Neo would survive one hit for some reason
1. The gun shoots straight in sans direction, he just goes to the left and dodges, meanwhile the blaster just shoots left, which is the direction sans dodges so it just hits him.
2. Mettaton is coded to die with one hit and get you to love 19

To be fair, Sans has 1 ATTACK and 1 DEFENSE, so it makes sense why Sans got one-shotted and Undyne actually survived the first hit.
Also, 1 HP vs 100000 HP difference.

Well most bosses just die anyway in Genocide. I'd love to see another run of this but on a murderous neutral route. Does Napstablook's claim that you can't kill ghosts hold true? Can you just vaporize Jerry? Can you actually kill the Mad Dummy? How does So Sorry's 1100HP stack up? Is Mettaton's rectangular body really invincible? Does the blaster effect Photoshop Flowey?
Or if you take it on a TPE run, does it kill Amalgamates?
these are the questions we need to be asking
Mettaton (before his EX Form), Mad Dummy, and Napstablook don’t even have death animations, so they definitely wouldn’t be killed by the GB’s. But Jerry would be killed just as easily as other monsters because he only has 80 health, and his high defense is useless against the blasters’ scratch damage. Regarding So Sorry, his annoying ass is coded to take 100 damage from every attack, and the blasters attack many times in a single turn, so he’d also die in one hit. Besides, Undyne has 23,000 HP in her Undying form, but still died in three attacks. So 1100 HP is nothing.

Actually, undyne being able to survive 3 hits is because she has huge hp, but that is usually compensated by the player dealing like 10x damage in her fight. Here though, the 1 damage instances weren’t too powerful to basically melt through her incredible hp.

i had multiple thoughts of how sans recieves his own attack, but that was ceartanly interesting.
also, looking up the HP for the monsters, Undyne the Undying has 23000 HP, so my guess is that beam does 10000 HP damage? could fit percentage wise
but now i am interested on how this would look like on a neutral route, on normal mettaton and omega flowey. or (with savestates) pacifist on asriel
Mettaton NEO also has 30000 HP, but got one-shot, despite the beam seemingly being unaffected by defense. I think what probably happens is that the blaster sets your attack super high, does a hit with the super high attack, but doesn't show it and instead shows a bunch of ones. Thus the scripted fights still end instantly because your attack doesn't matter for those.
@@lukario2666 from the page i saw, mettaton NEO has also (bc its scripted probably) -4000 defense. Otherwise one could try and test out how much damage each weapon does on hin, and if its still a oneshot

@@lesyeuxdelisa6556 In this case, defense does not affect it. The gaster blaster isn't doing 4001 damage a tick, it's doing 1. Additionally, a player's attack will miss if an enemy's defense lowers its damage below 0 (Ex. Mettaton and Asriel). Undyne the Undying's 99 would certainly do that to a 1 damage attack. It doing more damage to Mettaton NEO than to Undyne the Undying (Established that it ignores defense) is clearly an example of it using your attack stat, despite doing tons of ones suggesting it doesn't.. If it was actually a bunch of ones, the health bar wouldn't be deleted instantly, it would take a good few minutes to actually dish 30000 damage.
@@lukario2666 I'm fairly confident that Mettaton NEO (As well as Toriel, Papyrus, and Asgore) are hard-coded to die in one hit in the genocide route.

I kinda wanna see someone make a mod of this game where Frisk's weapon is a pocket watch/pendulum and instead of killing monsters, uses it to hypnotize them and it would still count as a Pacifist Run.
And after every battle they just sit in the room, with hypnotized eyes. No talking. Nothing.

Actually after killing undyne the undying, mettaton’s fight will always be the neo variant even if you didn’t finish genocide through hotland and core, and he even has specil (and a lot more) dialogue for doing so.

I believe an actual blaster wouldn't do multiple attacks, since the only reason sans drains your hp as long as you hit a blaster or bone is because of your KR, so in theory this weapon would legit do 1 damage (or however much your LV lets you do)

Sans did dodge it, it’s just the gaster blaster doesnt do 100 damage, it does 1 damage 100 times, counting as multiple hits, getting him down to his last phase.

The reason Sans got hit was because your GB just does SO MANY attack markers that it ticks the end scene which activates if the attack went twice in one assault. Or in other words, you basically had a bypass key.
