Everyone is always saying that the ”but nobody came” message is annoying. But no one is realizing the how absolutely genius it is. The reason it appears so often is because the game wants you to realize what you have done. And make you feel horrible.
I feel like it’s also supposed to be annoying. This run isn’t meant to be fun, everything about it is designed to make for the worst experience possible.

Yeah, sans figure out that you are possessing frisk really quickly, I think he can also tell in the pacifist ending, because he winks when he says "you haven't died a single time, have you?", implying that he knows you have a save/load mechanic. It feels like that on the genocide run, sans knows you are some kind of supernatural entity manipulating the world, but tries to use empathy and later fear to coerce you into becoming good, knowing that there isn't any other way. He looks fierce but is probably panicking on the inside.

Fun fact by doing a another play through correctly you can go through floweys text faster which saves a ton of time because he just says “do you have anything better to do” and then disappears .
Fun Fact: If you don't kill any Moldsmals in Waterfall (since they only drop 3 EXP), you can get to the Undyne the Undying fight at LV 11 instead of at LV 10.
LV 12 is also possible, but way harder. You need to get out of Ruins at level 6 (You need to kill Toriel at LV 5), then kill Glyde in Snowdin, and then avoid all Moldsmals. It's one hell of a grind, but makes the fight WAY easier since your Defense, Attack and HP are all considerably higher

Playing Undertale then graduating to deltarune. The stories get more complex and a lot more sad.. I get it’s just ‘pixels’ on a screen. But the characters having their own lives and stories- it makes killing them so much more difficult. I get why a lot of people can’t do genocide runs because of this. Some of them plead, smile despite your actions or cry. It’s not showing ‘weakness’ for empathy. Even if they’re not truly real. It’s still sad to the majority. I remember my first neural run as a kid. I killed shyren on accident and Undyne made me feel so bad for it. “She was getting better with her singing”- and went on to demean me for my one action. honestly gave me chills at a young age. Especially since killing her was so easy
I love this game. It's really crazy just how much this game changed things in the indie gaming world and in the long run in the AAA one considering things related to it made it into Smash Bros and Toby is doing music for Nintendo now. The genocide run is also my favourite run. Especially after doing a pacifist run. Love seeing how much the characters change.

One thing about the undyne fight is that the game actually tells you what’s gonna hit by showing the current arrow as red. It’s doesn’t really help in speed runs but it helped me in my current genocide save when the slow attacks came.
Fun fact: you don't need to fight sans to complete genocide. Mettaton is the final LOVE check. If you happened to get a punch card you can completely skip sans

Like for one example the characters would be nonchalant about it, Sans would point out how boring it is, Papyrus asking Frisk if they want to hangout after they reset, Flowey being taken aback by how everyone’s acting, etc. Another example being that it’s literally impossible to kill a monster which the underground takes notice of, like Undyne only takes 0.1 damage.

Well, when literally everyone dies and no one sees him. I think sans really can't fight, he can break HP and take away Iframes but he can't really do much other than that. Undyne right next to sans would be a good fight though, just sans right there doing nothing as Undyne just thinks she's doing incredibly well.

I may be misremembering, but I think at the start with Flowey, going directly into the left corner is actually marginally slower than waiting just a split second because of the speed difference of the bullets when you start around the edge. That might not be real, but I do think I remember that being fastest for me.

I always wondered. Who played the genocide route before the pacifist or regular route? That's honestly concerning if someone beats genocide route first.
It took me a solid 2 hours of attempts. To my mind it's the best fight in the game, thematically, because it's actually a reasonable fight. If you're just good at the game, you can win on your first try. 100% skill, it's just hard. Sans isn't hard, it's just a matter of repetition. He cheats. No matter how good you are, you will not win the first time, because he cheats. But once you know the pattern, he's no big deal. And that fits the narrative so well... this is Undyne's dream, to be the anime hero that saves the world from the ultimate evil. She wants to win a fair fight, and she's the best chance the monsters have at doing that. Sans isn't like that. He's a bitter revenant whose only goal is revenge. By all means necessary.
I've been practicing geno speedrun and my least favorite thing ever is fighting madjick (the magician guy), especially on warriors path because he basically is basically the final skill check of the run and it is so punishing if you don't hit the perfect quad.
the undyne attack which you find really hard has a pretty simple pattern. kinda just go up and then theres this path that forms in between the arrows and it just goes around in circles and its pretty easy from there.

Hey, my first time fighting her I kept pressing challenge (I wanted to do pacifist for my first run) and it's actually a good way to learn, q sink or swim. Edit: I was not aware of the undyne the undying fight

You still could but you are farther in the game so why not finish it? You have to finish neutral to do true pacifist anyways, tho it would be faster to not kill anyone because you wouldnt have to replay the entire game, i recommend you just finish your ending tho, neutral routes have A LOT of different endings

One thing that I should mention: I was wondering why he switched from the burnt pan to not get more healing, but given his route, he only would have gotten 1 extra HP from it. Another thing is that I believe this is the first version of undertale, the exploit he does in the sans fight is (last I checked) patched out

Cause if I remember, enemies get OHKO'd if you attack them when they're ready to be spared

You know, sans reminds me of the kid one the basketball team who’s benched. Everyone thinks he’s terrible at fighting, then when his time shines, he’s one of the best players on the team.
Well, when literally everyone dies and no one sees him. I think sans really can't fight, he can break HP and take away Iframes but he can't really do much other than that. Undyne right next to sans would be a good fight though, just sans right there doing nothing as Undyne just thinks she's doing incredibly well.
I finally did a genocide run for the first time a few weeks ago. I took a couple year break after the pacifist run because I didn’t want to kill anyone 😂
Undertale is litteraly my favorite Indie-game. I've played it too many times. To see that EasySpeezy is speedrunning it, I'm invested.

I may be misremembering, but I think at the start with Flowey, going directly into the left corner is actually marginally slower than waiting just a split second because of the speed difference of the bullets when you start around the edge. That might not be real, but I do think I remember that being fastest for me.

I could never get past Undyne in genocide. I just am really bad at blocking the attacks when you are stuck in the little box.
It took me a solid 2 hours of attempts. To my mind it's the best fight in the game, thematically, because it's actually a reasonable fight. If you're just good at the game, you can win on your first try. 100% skill, it's just hard. Sans isn't hard, it's just a matter of repetition. He cheats. No matter how good you are, you will not win the first time, because he cheats. But once you know the pattern, he's no big deal. And that fits the narrative so well... this is Undyne's dream, to be the anime hero that saves the world from the ultimate evil. She wants to win a fair fight, and she's the best chance the monsters have at doing that. Sans isn't like that. He's a bitter revenant whose only goal is revenge. By all means necessary.

I've been practicing geno speedrun and my least favorite thing ever is fighting madjick (the magician guy), especially on warriors path because he basically is basically the final skill check of the run and it is so punishing if you don't hit the perfect quad.
You can skip all CORE monsters (including Madjick) if you kill all 40 Hotland monsters before entering the CORE
@@phil-bean I mean u can do that but grinding kills in core is more optimal u kill at least 5 monsters in hotland and the other 35 in core
the undyne attack which you find really hard has a pretty simple pattern. kinda just go up and then theres this path that forms in between the arrows and it just goes around in circles and its pretty easy from there.

I watched this video thinking "maybe I'll get some tips for Undyne" and then you just did the fight perfectly and I guess I just have to fight her for another 6 hours so I can be as good as you are.
Hey, my first time fighting her I kept pressing challenge (I wanted to do pacifist for my first run) and it's actually a good way to learn, q sink or swim.

i have no idea how this guy can just kill toriel without feeling any remorse, i’m pretty sure i’m on the neutral rought right now and on the meta ton boss fight, and i’m still super sad because back when i killed toriel, i thought i had to, but then i looked it up, and figured out i could have spared her
You still could but you are farther in the game so why not finish it? You have to finish neutral to do true pacifist anyways, tho it would be faster to not kill anyone because you wouldnt have to replay the entire game, i recommend you just finish your ending tho, neutral routes have A LOT of different endings

One thing that I should mention: I was wondering why he switched from the burnt pan to not get more healing, but given his route, he only would have gotten 1 extra HP from it. Another thing is that I believe this is the first version of undertale, the exploit he does in the sans fight is (last I checked) patched out

tip for sans when he does the 3 platofrms and and bones you can phase the platforms by holding jump and doing little jumps and moving is faster then just moving

So, I'm no speedrunner by any means, but I do have to ask: For the fights with the Dog minibosses, wouldn't it be faster to use the Stick which automatically puts the dogs into a spare state, and then hitting them?
Cause if I remember, enemies get OHKO'd if you attack them when they're ready to be spared
