It might be interesting to see you start with something 'representational' of a fisherman's shack, and then going through the process of decaying and layering over it and watching (and helping it to) deteriorate on the support as you work on it. Watching it become a ramshackle before your very eyes (and at your direction). I am enjoying the series.
In a way I think the overall process is similar to that as the drawings on location were more representational. However, for a particular piece in the studio It’s really not a linear process given the intuitive vs intentional dance! . Perhaps though you see the more representational come and go throughout the process. A couple of the pieces are already doing that. I am glad you are enjoying the series.
Hello Marilyn - thank you so much for your kind and lovely comment. I always worry after posting a video and this one more so as it’s so personal - I was even thinking I shouldn’t have shared it then your lovely message popped up. Thank you 🙏
Thank you for your comments. I’m glad you find the paintings interesting. The studio isn’t huge and I have to keep moving things around but I make it work. I share it with my greyhound too!
You are so right, Liz. I think we do whatever we’re most comfortable with (in all aspects of life), and sometimes the simplest change can be the best thing! You’ve given awesome examples to help us keep moving forward. Thank you!❤
Hi Teresa I’m glad that you found the video helpful. Yes we are creatures of habit so challenging that can be tricky - onwards!! I’m glad the examples were helpful. You are welcome!

Loved watching this, enjoying your work, great to see your set up for this. Were you using the brick to mark into the piece?
Love the legal term plonking😂😂😂. Magical.
Thanks Leila - I’m not sure the word plonking is magical but still!!
I love your Ramshackle series. The decay of the buildings and the story they tell. Beautiful paintings.
Thank you so much Melinda- I’m so glad!- these have a way to go but I appreciate the feedback. I am totally inspired by these buildings of course!
Getting better and better. Love your work.😊❤️
