I really like this process of playing with Worning on small abstract and have fun with experimenting and trying out different ways of playing with possibilities and just having fun 🎶🎨🎵

I often find there is so much less pressure when painting on paper. Especially on a small scale!

Thank you Jeannine! As always, love your video💛….and it helps to see others are challenged by same things! This stage of « is it pretty/ugly/disaster/horror movie on paper??🤔 » kinda chaos is something to go through with lot of courage!💪🏻😅 but as you say, always worth it!

Thanks so much! Indeed, it's absolutely worth it. TO be fair, it doesn't work out 100% of the time, but most of the time

I use the Cass Art Jumbo Gummed Watercolour Pad A3

It is only available in the UK I believe.

I find abstracts incredibly hard, if not impossible. Even looking at your’s all I could think was, oh there’s a face, there’s a woman kneeling, oh another face 😂 One day I hope it’s easier!

Maybe that's your strength and you should lean into it 😉
Once you see something emerging from your painting, go with it if it feels right

What a great Friday for me! I love your videos! What paper are you using for these minis?

Thanks so much! I cut the paper to size from this Cass Art Jumbo Gummed Watercolour Pad A3: www.cassart.co.uk/painting/watercolour-paints/product-type-watercolour-paper/cass-art-jumbo-watercolour-gummed-pad-300gsm-50-sheets.htm?productid=4365&gclid=Cj0KCQjwntCVBhDdARIsAMEwAClM-fXlN-xQwbOIe3rhZoTuL4BYTsrTkmjTvsOke93Hc-wmyoj59j8aAgNCEALw_wcB

@@jclosestudiothank you!! What about the bigger brush you are using?

@@beatrizpatalotart it’s from B&Q (hardware store). Hardware store brushes are the best. Large brushes are much cheaper there than in an art shop

Looks amazing! I noticed that the small paintings all lay flat, how do you do that? When I painted on paper the edges started to curl up...

Putting gloss gel medium on the back straightens up the paper. I just learnt this today and I tested it with some watered down pva glue for a cheaper option and seems to be working.

They do curl a little bit, but not very much. I think it's because they are so small (A6). Possibly also because the first layer was not very watery. The weight of the paper is 300gsm, by the way.
Once they are finished I also spray the back with water and put them underneath something heavy till they are dry again.

@karensmithart4253 I need to try that! Thanks for the tip
