Filipino hotdogs are usually red, just because. lol. It's just food color that covers the sausage. It's also attractive to kids because it's their target market. Red hotdogs are just trademarks of the Philippines as well. Hope you can try a lot more Filipino dishes!!!

I love watching people enjoy Filipino food! If you guys want to venture further, I think that turon would be good. It’s basically a banana or plantain in lumpia wrappers and you fry them and cover them in sugar. Kare Kare would also be interesting. I call it peanut butter meat - it’s basically beef and/or ox tail cooked with peanut butter and you eat it with shrimp paste. Love you guys!

Hotdogs are red as to bubblegum flavor is always blue. No certain reason but just make it more distinguishable especially to kids. Regular hotdogs in the Philippines are always red, whereas the "premium" labeled ones are always brown such as franks or sausages. Chicken hotdogs are also set apart as brown.

@@TheCrunchBros Siopao and Siomai, most of the time, has a red dot on top to indicate that it's pork. Even empanadas. Maybe that's why it's red, but it is mostly because kids like bright colors.

We have chicken hotdogs and its brown-kinda-tan colour. Hehe
Also. Extra big is quite alright for canton taste but I prefer Lucky Me Pancit Canton. (as my mate says, extra big are for students with tight budget.. More for quantity, not for tatse.. Also cuz its a lot for 1 pack.. We can eat 6 bread buns in 1 pack)

The reason why Filipino hotdogs are red becayse there is a brand called Purefoods Tender Juicy hotdogs that are dyed in rich red in color. Also these hotdogs are nostalgic and iconic for children and adults alike because it's used in hotdog skewers with marshmallows, Filipino spaghetti, and used in hotdog silog. The 2 items mentioned above are part of children birthday parties. These red hotdogs tsste like regular hotdogs.
I remember having hotdog and marshmallow skewers stuck on cabbage, Filipino spaghetti, bbq skewers, pancit canton, lumpiang Shanghai and a birthday cake on my 7th birthday party . I enjoyed it but i hated wearing a dress and hair full of ribbons.

When I saw that it was Filipino Feast Food, I was thinking btithday food. Which would include the very non-conventional hotdog and marshmallow on a stick and stuck on a half or whole cabbage head for props. Kids go gaga for the hotdog and marshmallow combination.🤣🤣🤣 I would love to see Jordan's reaction to the hotdog and marshmallow combination.
Filipino Kids Birthdays would normally include: Spaghetti or Pansit (more often than not, it would be spaghetti), cake, lumpia, hotdog with marshmallows on a stick, Fried Chicken Lollipop (Breaded Fried Chicken wings made to look like small chicken drumsticks), something sweet like ice cream or Buko Salad, and Menudo among others.
Fiesta Food would normally include: Lumpia, Leche Flan, Kilawin, Lechon, Menudo, Adobo, Pansit, Kaldereta and Kare-Kare etc.
There's also different food for New Years and Christmas.
