  • This Is BAD NEWS For Toyota 4Runner Incoming Owners!
    Well, today we have got bad news for Toyota lovers! There have been issues with the Toyota 4Runner, and this might be a concern for you if you own this variant! Well, as we all know the reliability and loyalty of Toyota, the company will try and figure out the solution soon, or maybe they have found it! You're watching “TECH ADDICTS”, so “let's go places” to find out the whole story! Shall we?
    Well, the reliability of the Toyota 4Runner SUV may be traced back over a lengthy period. The transmission and the starter are two components of the Toyota 4Runner that are known to cause issues quite frequently, but it's not all bad news. Anyone looking for a long-lasting sport utility vehicle that has enough resources to keep it operating may find that this Toyota fulfills all of its requirements.
    One of the most frequently encountered issues with Toyota 4Runners, according to owner reports, is The transmission is a major source of frustration for Toyota 4Runner owners, according to the information that can be found on the RepairPal website regarding the most typical issues with these vehicles. At the time of publication, there were 263 reports of problems with the automatic transmission of the 4Runner not shifting correctly at high miles. This is more than any other typical fault with the 4Runner.
    In addition, the issue is stated as a problem that occurs with the automatic transmission at higher mileage, specifically between 125,000 and 150,000 kilometers. It's possible that the throttle position sensor needs to be adjusted, or the shift solenoid could need repair. Both of these issues could be affecting the transmission. Thankfully, addressing this issue typically does not involve replacing the transmission as a whole.
    The most typical issue with the Toyota 4Runner occurs somewhere around 206,347 miles into the vehicle's lifetime, and it affects 23 distinct model years. Yet, a number of owners have stated that it can take up to 75,000 miles or more until it occurs.
    Is the Toyota 4Runner a respectable sport-utility vehicle?
    Even though it has had some problems in the past, the Toyota 4Runner is still a very capable sport utility vehicle. According to the reports of Toyota 4Runner owners, the issue of a check engine light is the second most prevalent complaint with the vehicle. Owners assert that the Check Engine Light is triggered whenever the charcoal canister is unable to function properly (CEL).
    According to RepairPal, the evaporative emission (EVAP) system of the 4Runner has the potential to trigger the check engine light (CEL) if it detects an issue with the "charcoal canister purge control solenoid valve or canister failure." The charcoal canister breaking could result in debris being airborne, which would lead to an even greater number of issues. During the course of nine model years, there were around 78 persons who reported having this condition. The typical mileage was 154,785, however, owners reported experiencing issues ranging from 48,900 to 290,000 miles after purchasing the vehicle.
    Because the 4Runner has been on the market for so many years, there have been numerous reports of difficulties from customers. This pre-owned Toyota SUV has a number of issues, one of which is connected to a solenoid contact on the starter that is either worn out or rusted. You will not be able to start the 4Runner, but you may be able to fix the problem by replacing the solenoid contacts rather than the starter. Since the year 1990 onward, all 4Runners have had this problem for the past eighteen years. The typical range of mileage at which this problem manifests itself is between 47,000 and 350,000 miles. Should you find it necessary to replace the starter, the price may range anywhere from $442 to $604.

    My coworker hit 1,000,000 miles in her 2000 model 4Runner. Her father bought it new and after he died her mother give the 4Runner to her. She said she only did the normal services on time and once changed the water pump. In 960,000 miles the 4WD system run out of fluids and once she changed that the vehicle was good to go. Lmao 🤣 there's no issues. It's common for 5th gen with 300k on the original transmissions. The transmission becomes an issue when owners don't change oil properly. The first oil change needs to be done at 20k miles and the next 30k miles later and there after. Change the transfercase oil and lube the shaft.

    The main reason for charcoal, canister failure is do to people over filling their vehicles with fuel. When the handle clicks at the pump you should stop filling your vehicle. When you don’t stop it over flows into the charcoal canister and over time will q ruin it.

    I'm not a 4runner fan though, it's mostly outdated and unchanged in the last 10 years, but that lends itself to the reliability side of things.

I hope that when they bring the new gen 4Runner, they dont limit the trunk space like they did in the mew Sequoia. There's no need to make shelves out of seats. That would only make outdoor activities that much more difficult. If anyone has seen what people do with these 4Runners, they'd understand what I mean.

    My 2011 SR5 4runner started having problems with it's transmission around 65k and it became a nightmare. Toyota refused to even acknowledge the transmission was bad. I still loved my 4runner and don't think my transmission issues were typical to the product line. But Toyota does have issues admitting when there is a systemic problem with their cars. The transmission is too small for the weight of the vehicle and you need to be careful allowing the truck to slow using the transmission and not the brakes. But the transmission is still too small but does it really matter at this point.

      I'm surprised to hear this. I researched the 4runner for about a year before buying a 2015 SR5 a few years back. I did not come across a single comment or trend around transmission issues. If anything, the 4Runner gets praise for how bulletproof the drivetrain is. Unfortunately I had to trade my SR5 in for a van for the family, but I have an opportunity to trade my Highlander for a '22 TRD Off-Road that I might just jump on.

    The only issue Toyota got is the 4runner last 300,000 miles plus all the 80s, 90s,2000, still on the road including mine 265k miles still have no plan to buy a new one still running and running , let go place Toyota.

    No mention of frame rust?
    Also mpg improvement from new engine with turbo charging is gonna get offset by the requirement of using premium fuel:(

    • @ericvolkman1490
      @ericvolkman1490 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you figure on the fuel cost?
      If you drive 100mi at 17mpg you use 5.9g in my area (N.Cal) 89oct is $4.20g = $24.70
      If the new turbo gets 25mpg as many think
      That same equation yields 4g used at $4.60/g for premium = $18.40
      That’s a $6.3 or 25% savings

    • @Anomize23
      @Anomize23 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s absolutely not one vehicle that will not experience frame rust if they spend a good amount of time on snow. That does not result in just the 4runnner. And also, there’s a thing called undercoating to protect that. 😂

      The CX9 is nice, but there's no comparison between it and a 4Runner. It's a lot closer to the Highlander. I had a Mazda B2000 pickup way back when and traded it for a Tacoma, then ended up in a 4Runner. Toyotas have a way of really winning people over.

    Jjjjjjjj me da risa estos comerciales. Y más aún. Recomendar una jeep cherroke. O una Ford cuando sabemos que la cheroke es la reina en problemas tanto de problemas de trasmisión como en problemas de electricidad y plásticos baratos y la Ford otro tareco más que tienen problemas de todo tipo. (( EL ÚNICO PROBLEMA REAL... de la toyota fort runner.....es que se oxida el tren. Delantero...y que es bastante rígida y algo de consumo de gasolina. Por lo demás es un vehículo para toda la vida......te compras un sprays de undercoatin....para proteger la superficie de el shasis y problema resuelto. No engañes más a la gente. Que yo manejo Ford todos los días y lo único que tienen es comodidad por lo Demás un problema. FORD. SIGNIFICA. fabricación. Ordinaria Roturas..Diarias. .y el cherokee. Es el rey de el confort. Pero también es la reina de los problemas de trasmisión y te deja botado por problemas eléctricos. Puro cacharro...remodelado......Toyota AVANZA CONFIADO. y que conste no tengo toyota yo tengo un silverado 1500 HD 2002......pero las nuevas son unos tarecos. No las quiero problemas de trasmisión problemas con el AFM de el motor ect ect. Yo prefiero una toyota four runner. Millones de veces.
