- Been down in Cannock for the past week canvassing for Webb's Window Cleaning Services, Viewer of the channel called me in for some backup to help kickstart his business and I was happy to help. Pushed me out of my comfort zone feeling the pressure to be responsible for someone else's work so here's 5 important lessons and tips that I've picked up this week.

what a great video good down to earth realistic advice I'm about to start up all over again after being out with shoulder surgery sold my round thinking i would never work again but its all good full recovery this video has motivated me to get out there and knock some doors thank you sid
Hey Sid. I've been at my son to start a window round. He's not afraid of graft but is terrified of the canvassing side of things. I think your videos are great for encouraging people to have a try and not to be put off by all the "no's" Keep geeing us all up mate... Jeff
Hi Jeff, that's great to hear mate thank you, Just let him know that the he'll be nervous the first day or maybe even the first few doors every day but once you get going it all becomes normal and it's a great way to build confidence! good luck to you both!
I'm the same I'm not canvassing at the moment use social media but I'm missing tons of work but it is growing

I agree with everything in your video, and well presented. I started canvassing in the early 90's for double glazing firms, so canvassing for window cleaning comes quite easy. I agree with Sid that maintaining your attitude and setting yourself a daily target will help. Another thing that might help is to go out canvassing with someone else, you can then have a bit of a banter on the way and keep each other motivated.
Very true mate I miss canvassing in pairs, it’s a good laugh and keeps the motivation up

Awesome man! I have canvassed total.of 4 hours and secured 5 customers @ 205$ a month small but more shopfronts atm , my mind goes to imagine 50/100 customers, exciting !! Thanks for your vids

Quite a few of your points of advice, resonated with this old book i got lying around here, Influence the art of persuasion. Basically social psychology geared towards marketing. Good for anyone trying to sell their services.

I have a real issue with door to door canvassing / leaflets for a couple of reasons. There are groups of people who exploit people typically the tree cutting, drive cleaning and waste removal. They rarely have a home or business phone number and an address on the leaflet, and never offer out an address/s of a customer you could check out. They rarely look smart, smart makes me think trust (a bit different if your working on the street). So these are some of the reasons I never use people who canvass or leaflet my property.

I usually would but have a big coat on as it’s freezing 🥶

Canvassing in the pissing freezing rain getting no after no wasn't fun

Ay up sid would you canvass work in Leeds area Ive just started my window cleaning round and I think you'd be brilliant to have has a canvasser I really need to get work and I'm struggling so id be happy to do business with you
My first canvassing window cleaning !! Luckily saw another window cleaner posting leaflets so what I did was went elsewhere then return the next day where he had been...customers said did you drop this leaflet ? I said no but I'm here now 😀 customers like to see who they are dealing with .. 😁

Poor areas don't knock your price.. better tippers ... Plenty of tea...so I always do them cheaper. Go figure ..but that's me lol
Yep they always tip well and pay ontime too... honestly in all the rounds ive built ive made more money in the lower income areas. The big houses in the villages take 3 times as long for only twice the price sometimes.
