I never thought about accessing the fuel pump from the top by cutting a access panel that’s ingenious good job and be sure not to run your gas tank below a quarter of a tank of fuel you need that much fuel sloshing around in the tank to keep the pump cool. that’s probably what caused the pump to go bad in the first place FYI
Ive done it on several vehicles, its so super easy and helpful to do it that way. I saw some vids saying how dangerous it is, DONT DO IT, U WILL DIE, but thats a bunch of bs. If you do it right, it is completely safe on many, many vehicles.
Just came across your video on the fuel tank, thanks. What did you do to support the steel you mentioned putting in the hole as an access plate? I have a 91 Dolphin I am working on. Do you know if they have a oil pressure sensitive switch that sends power to the pump when the engine is running/has oil pressure? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful as I have a 91 Toyota odyssey rv. Thinking of an access port as well, but I have a rear dinnete layout and not sure if those measurements would be same as yours. My door may be in a slightly different location- refrigerator base may be in the way. Can you access the sender gauge from the access port? Would be interested in a followup picture of your port cover when finished if possible. This video really helps!
Good morning, when I removed the screws holding the fuel pump onto the fuel tank the gasket came off with the fuel pump. Thanks for watching, have a blessed weekend.
@@howididit Ok thNx🖐 btw, did you say 89 toyota motorhome, what do the rear side of your rear leaf springs shackle( 5”swinging thing) mount(thing attached to chasC that swinging shackle bolt/attaches to).. mount.. attach to? directly to frame-chassis? or is there another chassis sized metal gizmo lower mounting place another 3ish- “z??🤔
thNx, as you probly know, it’s rear side of big curved spring behind either tire, where it curves up to chassis - question more simply put is, is there a big steel gizmo that lowers chassis for a few inches for a lower height mounting place for mount(which attaches to shackle, which attaches to big curved leaf spring)
why didnt you give a view further away so i can generalize exactly where on the truck bed i need to cut would of helped! cause staring at the whole does not help to where the hole was cut
Great job young lady!! Congratulations. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun enjoy
Thanks so much!!

Did you ever find out?? I’m looking at the exact same thing right now lol
how’d you get that top of fuel exit gasket off, (which you apparently skipped to & restarted camera with it already detached)?
