    Nice unit! I own a 1991/2 Toyota as well, but mine is the Itasca Spirit by Winnebago. Same layout though. I replaced the jackknife sofa with something a single person can sleep on without needing to unfold it, have painted and papered, removed the old toilet, and done a bunch of other things to freshen it up and make it brighter inside. I love it! Good gas mileage too. A year and a 1/2 ago I painted the exterior. Turned out amazing! These are such awesome rigs for those of us who want the comfort but not the size of a bigger RV.

    That's a very nice example. We have a 1990 30' class a Warrior on the gm p30 chassis. Not as clean at that one but we've had it for over 10 years now with 90k+ miles. It's always fun running into another Warrior on the road. Last summer we were camping in an undeveloped area and ran across someone with class c Warrior built on a ford van chassis.

    • @wisted
      @wisted  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very cool. The Warrior had a great floor plan and build quality overall. Much more durable than many new models I'd say.

    I do like the little touches you have added to your habatation part of your Toyota mobile home but the dash board is the same in my 1997 Toyota Hilux but the steering wheel is on the other side because l live in Australia and l hope you have a 22R engine under the bonnet

    Wow, I just bought the exact same Micro warrior from the original owner. They only slept in it, never cooked or showered inside!
    it has 42k miles on the 6 cylinder. It sat under covered storage for 8 years. before i bought it.
    I bought new tires, changed all the fluids and drove it 400 miles home. The interior is MINT so no leaks ANYWHERE.
    My warrior decals are toast but that's an easy fix.

    On your next restoration, take those yellowed pieces down (ac, lights, etc) and coat them with Salon 40 creme (it's a cream based hydrogen peroxide), saran wrap and a heat method (hair dryer is fine or outside warm weather for a few hours) and that will lighten them up really well, almost back to white.

    Your unit is really nice and the low miles makes it a gem. I could use a mattress like yours. The stock one is not comfortable. The floor is nice also. The carpet option is always needing a vacuum The Warrior in my opinion has the best layout of all the Toyota’s. I have the same model with some slight differences. I do all my own work on it. I had to do the entire roof rebuild 2 years ago because of a bad repair by the previous owner. It’s much sturdier to hold the A/C The ceiling is cedar and I did the rubber roof. It is actually a lot quieter when it rains and has better insulation. I have a swivel wheel 4x6 trailer that I built an enclosed epoxy/fiberglass and foam enclosure. It has a hatchback type door with solar on the trailer roof and a 96 gallon auxiliary fuel tank and propane in the trailer with shelving and in cab fuel transfer control which really has been great not having to stop so often. I use ethanol free gas which I get locally because it runs better and gets better economy. I can make most trips without a fuel stop. Range is over 1500 miles. I only carry enough gas for the trip to save weight. The trailer actually increased mileage in spite of the extra weight because it’s shaped like a boat tail.to reduce drag. I like the 2 din radio you have. It fits really well. I am planning one also along with a 4 camera monitor. I want to ditch the side mirrors to reduce drag. I use mine for pleasure and business trips so my shower gets used. With some tuning it gets between 13-19 mpg with 3.0 depending on wind and hills. I got a wind app and plan my travel accordingly as much as practical. Planning the 3.4 swap to have more speed in the mountains Plus there is a TRD supercharger available which would double the stock HP and torque. $6k is a lot to spend on the upgrade, but as an old NASCAR professional I want it to run as good as it looks. It tends to be the slowest thing on the highway. Only other upgrades will be lithium batteries, a rear air ride suspension and some much better brake pads. The ride is terrible in the back. Front rides pretty smooth with the torsion bars. Mine is a CA unit so it is rust free and solid but just went over 100k on a 4 week trip. Still has a lot of life left anyway. Keep all the rubber as fresh as possible and these units should last a long time and be reliable. I also upgraded to the 195R/14 VW Vanagon tires. I will be freshening the look with new paint once I decide on a color scheme. It just won’t hold a shine anymore. I really love my Warrior and will finish the upgrades and keep it forever. I love seeing other examples so thanks! I will be starting a channel that will highlight my past and future mods once I get around to editing all the files and footage...

      Sourced parts from probably dozens of vendors. What are you looking to do with your Warrior?

    • @taazmania
      @taazmania 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well first steps are to give it a good cleaning. But then I really like a lot of the modifications you did from the mattress to the usb. I don’t have that door bell thing so I might just add that for some fun nostalgia. 😅 but I also need to do some basic replacement pieces to bring it up to snuff. I’ve had a time trying to navigate the many online catalogues. It’s not as easy as getting regular replacement parts. I was hoping there was a one stop shop for stuff like that. ❤

    • @wisted
      @wisted  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That would have been a godsend if there was such a thing when I was going through mine. You really have to be kind of creative and explore lots of different options when it comes to sourcing your parts.
      Of course, some stuff you can just grab off the shelf like what I did with the Airlift kit, audio upgrades, and thankfully the power converters are still produced. Don't skimp on the electrical and plumbing. Make sure to go through everything exhaustively because there will be more than a few things that have decayed due to age.
      A juicy upgrade is a Maxxair fan, something I would have done had I kept it.

    This was my Winnebago ! I bought from an elderly woman in N j. I had so much fun working on it inside and out, kept me from going bonkers! Only reason I sold it was because I was told camp grounds would not let older motor homes camp there. This was not true. So wish I still had it. dottienana

    • @wisted
      @wisted  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like someone crafted a pretty convincing tale to get you to sell your Toyhome. The truth is, many campgrounds do have age restrictions, but most of them will look the other way when they see a very well maintained Toyota motorhome. They reserve the right to refuse, of course, so it is always best to disclose prior to arrival.
      These days, it's less necessary to stay at an RV campground because you can install solar, with lithium batteries and large inverters to replicate the luxuries of shore power when needed.
