We really enjoy Lamb. Loin chops, leg of lamb, rack of lamb is all great. That recipe looks outstanding Sam. I just made Lamb Loin Chops in the air fryer with a great Olive Oil, Crushed Rosemary, Garlic, Fresh Cracked Black Pepper and it was Delicious!
As an Aussie lamb cutlets are it. We love our lamb. Check out the Australian lamb ad for 2023, it’s the best. Definitely going to get your knives one day. Continuing with the lamb theme you should try…. Slow cooked lamb shanks or Lamb and Rosemary pie it’s awesome. But as an Aussie I would love to see you do an Aussie favourite dessert that you always get at the bakery when you get your classic pie.. and that is vanilla slice. It’s the best.
I look forward to the Australia Day lamb ads each year. They just seem to get better every year! Just don't tell my pet sheep that we eat their cousins!
I've only had lamb a couple times, it was fine, I just generally don't think of it but just yesterday a friend of mine was mentioning how it is cheaper then beef in my area right now. Once it warms up enough to use my grill I'll give this a try.
What you’ve just done… I do this with a rack or as per the recipe a deboned leg. Enjoy from South Africa 😉 INGREDIENTS BUTTER * ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened * 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves * 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh mint leaves * 2 large garlic cloves, minced * ½ teaspoon kosher salt * ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper MARINADE * ⅔ cup extra-virgin olive oil * ½ cup finely chopped fresh Italian parsley leaves and tender stems * U ⅓ cup fresh lemon juice * 1½ tablespoons kosher salt * 1½ tablespoons paprika * 2 teaspoons ground cardamom * 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped * 1½ e ground cumin * 1½ teaspoons ground ginger * 1½ teaspoons ground turmeric * 1 boneless leg of lamb, about 5 pounds, butterflied and trimmed of excess fat INSTRUCTIONS * Combine the butter ingredients. Set aside. * Whisk the marinade ingredients. Reserve and set aside one-half of the marinade to use for basting the lamb on the grill. Pour the remaining marinade into a large, resealable plastic bag. Place the lamb inside the bag, press the air out, and seal tightly. Turn the bag to distribute the marinade, place in a bowl, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours, turning occasionally. Remove the lamb from the bag and discard the marinade. Allow the lamb to stand at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes before grilling. * Prepare the grill for direct and indirect cooking over medium heat (350° to 450°F). * Grill the lamb, fat side down, over direct medium heat, with the lid closed, until nicely marked, 10 to 12 minutes. Turn the lamb over and grill for 5 minutes more, basting the lamb with the reserved marinade. Then move the lamb over indirect medium heat and grill, fat side up, with the lid closed, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the lamb registers 125° to 130°F for medium rare, 20 to 30 minutes more, basting occasionally with the reserved marinade. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 to 10 minutes. * Cut the lamb across the grain into thin slices. Melt the herb butter, and then drizzle it over the lamb. Serve right away.
Hey Sam, Max & Chance, you guys should 100% do what we on the UK call a 'cheeky nandos'. Nandos is a really popular peri peri chicken restaurant. Everything is flame grilled, flavours from lemon and herb to extra hotttt. Check out the menu and make a plate up please 🙏
That's great I have a rack of lamb in the freezer now I need to try this. I also have a whole rabbit in the freezer if you want to make something with rabbit.
I Love Lamb so much that I want to be a lamb farmer in retirement. Chops are great, but my favorite and my traditional birthday meal every year growing up. Mom's was great, but mine is better! If a boned roast, remove the bone. Remove the outside hard fat layer; just work with me on this. If fileted from deboning, roll up and tie with butcher's twine. Poke several holes about an inch deep spaced apart on the surface. Insert into each hole a garlic clove and a sprig of rosemary. Cover roast with strips of bacon and slabs of sweet onion. Roast in the oven according to weight at 350 F. We made a pan gravy from the drippings to serve over my garlic goat-cheese mashed potatoes. Enjoy! Zanna
Love, love love lamb. The best lamb I've bought in the US comes from a farm in New Mexico called NIght Sky Lamb. They breed Dorper lamb which in my humble opinion is the absolute BEST tasting lamb money can buy. I highly recommend you check them out. If someone says they don't like lamb, this lamb will convert them!
Lamb is a staple here in Australia. So many US folk don't like it because they think it has a gamey taste. No, deer has a gamey taste! You did that rack proud. Cooked perfectly. Oh, here, we call the cut up end result bits cutlets. Chops are different. Although some here will call those, chops with handles. They are also great breaded and shallow fried.
I’m in US and only buy Australia or New Zealand lamb. It’s way better tasting than the garbage from South America or lamb raised in southern US or Mexico because it is really gamey like a deer 🥴
@tritontransport I didn't know we exported to the US. Great that you love our baby sheep! We love it too, but it's so expensive these days it's a luxury item. It's interesting that it tastes different depending on where it comes from. I wonder why? Could it be what they were fed, or their living conditions? Aussie lambs roam in open land, eating what they like before being shunted onto the truck. Maybe the areas you describe they are force fed certain foods?
Lamb is a lovely meat - such a different flavour from other red meats! I am surprised that more Americans don't eat it. Thanks for a great recipe, Sam!
@Sniperboy5551 don't come to Australia then! It's exceedingly expensive! That rack would have cost around $AU45. Way out of reach for most Australians. The ridiculous part is, we are a major sheep growing country, yet it's THE most expensive meat by far. There are 10 times more sheep than people. Someone is making big money from it and it's not the farmers!
As an Aussie, it’s bewildering to me that Americans have still not gotten on board with lamb in a mainstream way. Lamb rack is the single best meaty bite there is. Utterly divine. Just add a glass of rich Cabernet. Great recipe Sam. ❤️
Medium/pink lamb is something else, and this rub sounds like a great flavoring. I also must recommend the decadent pistachio/breadcrumb/butter & rosemary crusted version.
Lamb has been on our family's table for as long as I can remember. I ate it as a child, my children ate it and now my grandson eats it. We've had fun introducing lamb to our friends. I also need a knife.
Lamb is single-handedly the best meat on the planet. I have lived off of lamb for months and was never disappointed. That and beef picahnas and crawfish.
Question, would the rub you put together for the lamb be good on a rack of pork? I believe I have convinced the wife to try the lamb which I'll pursue later. 🤤
I love lamb. Easy to find at a restaurant in Europe. Seems less easy to find it here. I’ve never tried to cook it myself but I was encouraged to try after viewing this video
Love the spice mix for the lamb chop like an asian twist flavor profile the moment u slice it so tender like butter so delicious and simple using the grill was smart
Was always told that lamb wasn't good... and I believed it for so much years and when I finaly tried it I fell in love! Now I dont trust anyone's word until I try it myself !
Looks amazing!! I haven't cooked lamb in quite a while and now I feel the need to. Btw my entire family will sit down together at times and watch some of your videos. i have been following your channel for years. My daughter has grown up watching and calls you Sam the cooker. It would be cool if you guys did like a surprise ingredient thing. Like spin a wheel to get random ingredients and see what kind of master piece you can create. Might end up finding some really odd combo that works well together or possibly a complete disaster but either way would be fun. Anyway thanks for the great content and I am looking forward to more!
I LOVE Lamb but my father made it this year and it was pure hell to eat...I'm gonna be passive aggressive and show him this video. 😊 Thanks Sam the lamb god. 😊
Holy s*&t, just made these for my parents and friends on Mom's birthday, spectacular, flavor filled and should done 4 racks!! Also included the Wedge and Cauliflower recipe from new cookbook. The grilled angel food cake dessert, over the damn top!!! Bravo Sam!! Thank you and keeping them coming!

@@tritontransportTexas lamb one of the best as well, we get local farm raised lamb, so far it’s even better than imported ones.
I was just about to say this. How good is Lamb!!
I've only had lamb a couple times, it was fine, I just generally don't think of it but just yesterday a friend of mine was mentioning how it is cheaper then beef in my area right now. Once it warms up enough to use my grill I'll give this a try.
Looks great, Sam. Will def have try this just with a tad less "spice".
Smoked leg of lamb also insanely good - good to see lamb get the love it deserves, no idea why it gets such a bad time in the US
I have never had lamb before. But that looks absolutely delicious!
It is delicious!
I have never had lamb, but been wanting to try it, i may just have to make this.

Lamb lollipops are always right

Rack of Lamb is probably the single best thing to eat no matter what rub or sauce you use, they are so versatile
I just like some Greek seasoning and some Lemon juice.
@@RedWingsFanClub yeah great choice
This! times 1000
Never had it
Here in oz, lamb is a staple meat but when we lived in the states it was very hard to find. Glad to see it on the channel!

I don’t think I’ve ever had lamb. Looks amazing!
I finally tried lamb at a Brazilian steakhouse and I was very pleasantly surprised. Not gamey at all. Sort of a cross between beef and pork.
my grandmother used to boil lamb and the smell of that put me off for years. but this has given me new hope to try it again
I wish I could get over the “gamey” taste of lamb, because that looks so SUCULOUS!!!
Love & happiness is a smoked rack of lamb
Lamb is a lovely meat - such a different flavour from other red meats! I am surprised that more Americans don't eat it. Thanks for a great recipe, Sam!
I’m kinda glad, if it was more popular it would be even more expensive!

Szechuan peppercorns in a BBQ rub!! Brilliant idea. Definitely doing that!
Lamb is rich and luscious, and absorbes marinade beautifully .

Perfect timing - I'm grilling some lamb loin chops this weekend! I could use a Nakiri knife!!
Hey brother. Any side recommendations to go with those chops?
