So close to the release of #SpongebobSquarepants #BattleForBikiniBottomRehydrated, I figured I'd finally play a game that people often call one of the best licensed games out there. And... It's okay. It's a decent platformer. I think it's the opposite "video game movie" problem, where so few video games based of a license are good, that even a mediocre one is seen as excellent. Maybe that's just me.

There's a lot of different bird species that don't know how to fly, I just thought that I'd mention that, also sponges don't technically swim when sponges are larvae they can swim a little bit but when they become adults they just stick to whatever surface they lay on so they actually don't swim at all,so technically it's not a sin

That movie could barely even be considered Sonic, Sonic's personality was completely different, the movie was clearly targeted to nine year old kids that are obsessed with fortnite, baby sonic was hideous, the echidna tribe should've been long dead, sonic never met Tails in the movie and yet they still know each other, Jim carrey as eggman was a mistake because it made eggman's personality drastically different, they turned Sonic into fucking Sonichu, Sonic died and came back to life just because "The donut Lord" said Sonic was his friend, Sonic can control time itself now apparently, Sonic's Re-design still looked terrible, Somehow Sonic's rings can be used as portals, there was stupid fart jokes, and the movie was just overall terrible, I'd rather be forced to play and beat every Sonic Boom game than see that movie again, the only good Sonic movie was the OVA, the OVA was pure gold, I hope the live action movie's sequel gets cancelled.

Missed sin: when the camera zooms out from the Chum bucket at the end of the opening, The Krusty krab is missing from where it's supposed to be (note the large circular section of pavement in front of the bucket.)
I guess it was removed so they could have a cool zoom out shot, but still.

I like to think that Mr. Krabs in Squidwards dream was actually part of the dream, like Squidward's grueling job is so ingrained in his mind that Mr. Krabs, the physical manifestation of his job, is a permanent part of his dreams, and perhaps Plankton and Larry were part of Sandy's dream by pure coincidence or something. Learning about the algorithm today, aren't we?
All sins aside (that I also somewhat agree with.) this was a master piece for a ps2, GameCube and etc. as a kid I always wanted to complete this game 100%, the quests are fun, the music and boss fights, especially Patrick and Spongebob/Plankton boss fights... collecting the Golden Spatulas were satisfying to collect. And the Dream Levels...
This put a warm place in my childhood. Thanks, Charri for this video!

A little sin I’d like to add myself:
So, after beating the game, you unlock a bonus stage where you play as Spongebob in his ball form. It’s basically just a place where you can mess around in and collect bonus shiny objects, but what triggers me about this stage is that the game’s credits are presented as you’re playing the game, they cover half the screen, and it’s on an endless loop. Like, come on I get people spent a lot of time into making this game, but do we really need to see their names repeated over and over? One scroll through the credits was good enough, but on a loop? I want to see the details in this place with no distractions!

Bro when I got there I was furious because of both the 100 percent prize and because the creduts covered up half the screen on a section based around my favorite feature in the game

Hey there Charri! So glad to see this game getting even more attention as the remake gets closer to release. I actually speedrun this game, so seeing you find the Robo-Sponge Skip by complete accident put the biggest goofiest smile on my face. Also glad to see that you did some research to try and figure out what the hell happened lol. If you're interested, I highly recommend watching some full speedruns of this game. The tricks and movement are crazy, and there's almost always something interesting happening. Most runners, myself included, speedrun this game on Twitch, so come say hi to one of them if you're interested! The community is super welcoming and happy to explain the crazy stuff that happens.
The current world record holder for all of the main categories, SHiFT, is actually working on a huge Any% world record history video series. Parts 1 and 2 are already released, and they are super well made! Definitely recommend checking those out as well.

Team Awesome it only has 3D running Sections...but most of it is a 2d adventure to go all the way to Lyric’s sky sanctuary, I would call Rise of Lyric terrible since when you mash the buttons but it doesn’t work, the infinite pause glitch, the people not answering or not there once you begin and finish an extra quest, etc.

Was Clancy Brown busy when they were doing sound recordings for this game? He always seems up to voice Mr Krabs and he's done voice work for games before and after this, so I cant imagine it's something he'd just turn down
I’m pretty sure 40/40 is the same thing as 20/20 vision, since you are cabable of reading just as much information at 40ft away as another person from that same distance.
Better vision would be like 20/15, where you can see what a person with normal vision sees 15ft away, but from 20 feet away yourself.
I think you guys missed a few good ones like at 07:01 that could have been a number of jokes about Patrick's "undesirable position" and in the sea needle with Mr. Krabs, this game was 2003 so I'm pretty sure that was the first ever "your mom" joke

No one swims, as they are all bipedal.
Besides, that fact doesn’t even matter since the “water” in GOO Lagoon isn’t even water... it’s GOO.
That’s like taking a lungfish and chucking it into a tar pit and complaining that it should know how to escape just because it’s a fish that can navigate on land.
The “goo” in Goo Lagoon is a human-relatable stand-in for water, like how the actual seawater is a stand-in for air.
Not every human goes out of their way to learn how to swim, so don’t blame Spongebob, an anthropomorphic shower sponge, for not learning how to swim either.

13:31 I'm playing the Rehydrated version and i just got to this part, i know there was gonna be a hard part in the Mermalair but i didn't think it would be this. to be fair, i did get a bad vibe from see the whole thing but the fact that i have to bubble bowl the button while its in the tube! lets just say thats the second time this game has broken my sanity.
