When deleting a file (at least under Windows and the NTFS file system), it is technically not deleted : the file is simply marked as overwritable by the system, and hidden from users as free space. That way, when free space begins to lack, the system will instead overwrite the deleted file.
It technically still exists as long as it's not overwritten, thus why data recovery softwares like Recuva can rescue it.
That means, in the context of this game, that everytime you do something with your computer (because cache and temp files), there's chance for let's say... Monika's leg to be ripped off existence and replaced with cache data from your web browser for example.
That means as long as she's... in that dimension/marked as overwritable, she's doomed to die slowly and painfully corrupted by your system.

Well, I played some "anime dating sims", the actual ones, just for fun, and most of the characters are like that, yet all the girls in the game like them. So I made a rule for myself: never play these games sober.
well that' kind of the point: THEY AREN'T. They're programmed to fall for the player if they 'do well', they aren't falling for the player, not only, just following what the game tells them to. Monika's entire thing is that she believes she more 'real' because she's trying to get with the ACTUAL player, but if you think about it she's just following the same programming but to a unintentional extreme the programmers didn't consider.

This is probably the best Everything Wrong With video you’ve made to date. MC talking over you was funny, the thing with Yuri’s *bahanagahoogs* was hilarious, and all the creepy moments aren’t skipped over and are actually given enough time to properly sink in. Even the video starts messing up at points and that’s really cool

Most of the people in the world do not know what depression really is. Heck, I was pretty much one of those people before I played the game(not claiming that I am an expert on it now or anything like that). His response is absolutely 100% natural when it comes to that. He spoke his mind during that phase, which is what everyone would have done. Was it a good choice of words? Perhaps not, however, he's been with Sayori for most of their lives, just imagine being best friends with the most cheerful and happygolucky girl in the world with her never displaying any acts of sadness or melancholy, not even when in pain, may I remind you, and suddenly, you realise she has depression. Keep in mind, that I am not blaming Sayori, but having something like that dropped on you is pretty heavy. He was just being himself.. it's hard to turn into a psychologist when you find out someone has depression.. so please get off your high horse

All things considered, while Monika does have some aspects of a Yandere, she is actually a lot closer to being a Kamidere.
A Kamidere is someone who sees themself as a god or goddess.
Monika does act like this, seeming like she has a higher standing and more control over things than the others, not just because of her role as club president, but also because she's aware she's in a game.
She can also be considered godlike in a way compared to the others, because while they're only simple ais with pre-programmed personalities they can't change out of that are designed just to fall in love with the main character, Monika has human-level self awareness, knows about the existence of our reality beyond hers, and can do things like force the others to say stuff she wants them to, altering their personalities in an attempt to make them as unlikeable as possible, changing the game itself to force you two together, and at the end, she even put the game into a non-functioning state.
Monika also has the most prominent trait of a Mayadere as well.
A Mayadere is a villain or antagonist who falls in love with the protagonist. Monika is in a way, the antagonist of DDLC. And if you think of yourself as the protagonist rather than the main character as the protagonist, Monika is in fact, in love with the protagonist, making her a Mayadere.
In short: What kind of dere would Monika be?
She has the most prominent traits of a Kamidere and a Mayadere, but she also has a bit of Yandere in here, but not to the same extent as Act 2 Yuri.
Also if you're curious, Sayori would be closest to being a deredere, and Act 1 Yuri is closest to being a Dandere.

Hey, the reason monika won’t say your name is because of the recording Easter egg and the game actually cares if you don’t want your name leaked so it doesn’t leak it if you want to see the Easter egg you got to record with a different software or record using a phone
It actually doesn't detect all recording software and the scene only triggers with software like OBS and 1 other one I can't remember at the time.

Actually, them corrupting like that makes sense (somewhat) because when a computer deletes something, it doesn't just disappear, the computer just pretends it does, meaning it will then overwrite the data with anything new. If you delete a gigabyte of videos, they still are on the hardrive, just.... the computer isn't saving them anyone, and by downloading almost anything, new code will be written overtop those videos.

Fun fact: If you dig into the actual files during your playthrough, the game changes the files during the playthrough. Monika actually deletes all the files for the other girls, and various images of the girls' poems and notes are added in as easter eggs.
Hxppythxughts.exe, the traceback file for the sayori death scene, the poster of Sayori hanging herself in the back of the club room, the constant manipulations of character portraits, and the game itself detects recording software.

Can I be honest? This was probably the perfect video for Charriii, and, hear me out before someone starts saying some stupid shit, and an asshole asserts an annoying attestation, alliteration;
Charriii was able to play with the fourth wall, use a bit of foreshadowing with certain sins, hell, even play with the game in a way to add to the experience. Hell, he calls out the pc name easter egg not working, most likely because he was recording with OBS or XSplit, in which case the game skips that call because it recognizes the software as open. He even got to(even if it was played up for the sin counter) be a little more calm and personal because of act 3's "Eternity with Monika." In a way, it may not be the "best video," nothing can be the best, objectively, cuz someone will always disagree; but if I did have to call this something, this, along side the first one he ever did on Shadow the Hedgehog, would be the most important, the... magnum opus, but, plural, or whatever- hush im not too well spoken myself, ahahah...

I've never seen anyone have as much fun with this as a project than Chariii. He did a really good job with the editing and paying attention to small details. It was awesome how he even made it seem like Monika was controlling the recording itself. Thanks for making these videos Chariii. @@SSG3 what it does and doesn't recognize is weird. I remember hearing somewhere that it also recognizes a bunch of asian screen recorders for seemingly no reason. (It doesn't stand to reason that those be included specifically when it's not really anymore advertised in Asia?) So honestly, who knows.
Regardless, if the "Name Reveal" line didn't show but the "I'm being recorded, aren't I?" line did, then logic dictates that that's what happened, ahah- I would say that it could be he downloaded it from the browser (in which it's kinda touch & go as to if that line will play) but she brought up that deleting characters is more difficult bc he was on Steam. And it's almost an 100% rate on Steam so unless something else funky is happening, (which I doubt,) that's what happened here, lol.

The joke itself is very meta. The game was written completely English, however the script is written to reflect how a dating sim written in Japanese may be translated. The joke itself is a Japanese joke written in English to come across poorly as if the game was actually translated, also giving Monika an opportunity to acknowledge she is in a game and foreshadow the reveal
I'm a bit of a lurker, but sometimes I *really* need to leave a comment.
This was really special. It's entertained me so much I sat through the entirety and would watch it again. There's so much love put into this, I was immediately hooked the moment I noticed the small details you've added, even in Act 1 - like your character saying exactly what you were going to sin. And it just got better and better, the ads were incredibly well done, and the last one even perfectly coordinated with an ACTUAL AD. There's just so, so many of these tiny extra details I loved to witness, and I laughed so much at your jokes. Even the ending was phenomenal, I completely fell for that.
I also appreciated the "real" moments with Monika's conversations, I gotta admit it reminded me how deep some of those are. For all that it's worth from a completely random fan, thank you so much for this video, Chariii!
Theres also the changes in the Sayori death scene, and the blue screen. Both exception statuses are different than they should be. In Sayori's death scene, it tells you to check the description (it normally creates a fake trace back file and tells you to check the trace back.) and in the Blue Screen, the exception is different than normal.

For the Bluescreen, it should say "DDLC_ESCAPE_PLAN_FAILED_", not what it says in this video.
For all intents and purposes, they dont really harm the game (I have more details in one of my comments where I brought all this up), it's just funny to see.
