Why stays my HDMI 1 or 3 with a black screen when there is no device active? I want to have a background/screensaver when i turn off my tv box or playstation for example. Sometimes its hard to tell if the Tv is still on. I have an sony kd-55xh9077 and i bought the Wave App. I hope someone can give advice on how to change the black background if Tv box isnt active.
I started using the screensaver options recently and it works but only while TV is working or in stand-by. Once I unplug the TV it completely forgets that I have set it to start the screensaver after 15 minutes. When I check the options again, they are set back to “Never”. Does anyone know what could be causing this or is anyone else having this problem? Philips says that is normal because the screensaver option is managing by Google and NOT by the TV itself (firmware). Is it correct this theory?
Hi the settings menu can contain different entries for different manufacturers. The video was recorded on a NVIDIA Shield TV. If you have a build in system like a Sony, Phillips, OnePlus etc. There will be more/other options. If your system runs on an older Android TV version the might be a bit visual difference. The screensaver option is an Android system functionality though and should be available on any Android TV device. Best regards.

So if it's set to 2 hours or less, then does that means it will activate screensaver and interrupt my movies and gaming session? That can get annoying quick if so.
Hi, the screensaver only starts if - no interaction with the system is done - no media (video) is playing - music can be set to play in the background and then won't stop one the screensaver turns on.
why there is only 2 option on my screen saver. only backdrop and colors, i cant even select screensaver from the gallery. we have the same tv on your demo
Hi. Android TV only includes those two screensavers. You need to download additional screensavers from the play store. I.e. paper ocean, wave, tunnel 3D , paper winter etc.
Whats the use if we can't change wallpaper and screensavers to our choice. Android TVs are useless craps. I miss the old java platform screens in which you can play any format put anything as wallpaper or screensaver
I really wished that one could change the Android TV wallpaper as well. Also the Android Auto background. As for screensavers the Android TV is actually very powerful. Unfortunately there aren't many devs out there that actually work on that stuff. I guess the possible audience is to small. Wallpapers and screensaver can really only be a hobby. Making a living out of this is really tough.
@@StefanSchmidtRegensburg Just talked to a rep at Hisense and they said I can't add a screen saver to the list and if it's not pre-loaded like the 2 screen savers that came with the tv, I will have to manually put on the screen saver instead of it is coming on automatically after a period of inactivity. Darn.

Does anybody knows HOW to keep the screen saver start up time? Once the TV is unplugged, it looses the setting....

That's a computer animation. I have good experiences with philips ambilight though.

I downloaded a screen saver from the Play Store but I don't know how to add it to my list of screen savers (currently there are only 2).

Where do I find the file manager on the TV?
Android TV does not have a building file manager. You can download one from the play store. I.e. solid Explorer
