Daryl , the way you change things slightly to make it like the prototype is nothing short of amazing, your eye details to things is brilliant, just love tuning in every week from Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺 🇦🇺(10.am) Monday morning, and watching your Chiefs at the moment as well 👍Rusty from down under
cutting the resin should be done with a 80 tooth blade for plastics or aluminium and cut down through it slowly, make sure you got a vacum hooked up to the saw to for the dust and a mask. whole layout is realy looking good now.
Croydon and Devil's Slide is taking shape can't wait until it's done. Now to tackle the final unfinished area of the map the Badlands east of Grainger and finally the big gorilla in the room itself Echo Pass the layout is almost done.
Bachman makes an EOTD that flashes. It has a small circuit board built into a truck for constant run on DCC. One is able couple other cars to it as well.
Before proceeding to Holcim Cement, I would add a shorter distance for shutting down at the Holcim yard. For a Plant of this size, you should have 15 to 30 Cement Wagons. Weber River looks great after you moved it over. Again, it looks great, Darryl. (Mike HO from Australia.)
I would recommend that you get an 80 tooth blade for cutting the abutment, it will give you a cleaner cut. You should be OK cutting the material, but I would make a practice cut on what will end up as the off cut or waste portion of the abutment.
I've actually cut these with a Ryobi miter saw. It worked, but I wish I would have known the bit about the 80 tooth blade because the cut definitely could have been cleaner
I was wondering what color green you put on those bridges. That is the perfect color for that application. Don't paint the second bridge silver. I think they look great.
Hi Daryl, layout is looking great. Love the bridge work. I was wondering if you had any videos of your former N Scale layout on TH-cam ? Also what was the reason for changing from N Scale to HO scale ? I switched from a smaller sized HO Scale layout to a N Scale layout. But I found out it was harder to work with the smaller N Scale stuff vs HO Scale. Wondering if that is why you changed to HO Scale ? Thank you
No, I changed because of a move to a downsized ranch house with a full basement. House was smaller but the basement was much bigger. Since I has the room, I decided to give HO a try. You are correct, it is a lot easier. I've been very happy with the change. I have lots of videos of the N scale layout. Just go to my channel and video list. All the videos prior to January 2021 are on the UPRR Geneva Sub.
Daryl, good luck with the cutting of the abutments. Should work in the miter saw with a fine-tooth blade. WARNING: over years of model-building, everyone warns that resin dust is VERY irritating to the lungs! Please be aware and use an appropriate mask and shake off your clothes outside. I want you to stay in good health so we can see you finish this fine layout 🙂
I gotta question to ask, what brand ho scale diesel dash-9 with DCC and sound should I buy? I’ve been wanting a dash-9 for a while now but I don’t know which kind to buy like Athern Genesis, Walters, Bachman, or others
Hi Daryl & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Daryl & Friends Randy
Thanks my friend
Your layout is spectacular! The quality of your scenery is extremely good and yours is one of the largest non-club layouts I've seen.
Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you watching!
I took a great shot of the double header coming over those bridges in 2019. Looks great!
Nice
Wow.. awesome scene.. keep up the great work..
Thats the plan :)

Unfortunately, they lost. Oh well, what happens in the playoffs is what really matters.
Excellent Layout
Appreciate the kind words.
As i said before Mr Cruz excellent work excellent layout 👏 👌 👍 ✨️
Thanks!!!
Timber trestle on Holcim spur, back ground touch. Bridge look really nice, Darryl touch on painting.
Thanks
Amazing job Darryl
Thanks
Awesome!
thx
Have you done a video in the past about installing backdrops?
No. Probably would be a good idea.

Good point about the saw. Thanks
Looks Great!!!
Thanks! It's starting to come together.

yep
Bachman makes an EOTD that flashes. It has a small circuit board built into a truck for constant run on DCC. One is able couple other cars to it as well.
Sounds cool. However, they don't flash during daylight hours. Would be nice for night operations though.

Maybe for the Prototype. This plant is much scaled down. I always try to resist the urge to pack the layout with too much track.
Cutting resin is really dusty, so I'd recommend wearing a mask and to keep the surface wet.
Yep, I'll make sure to be extra careful.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the advice.

Hey Mr Cruz how 🤔 are going to do the scenery behind the bridges 🌉 where the cement plant is ,
The bridges are not permanent yet. I'll remove them before working on the trestle bridge.
I was wondering what color green you put on those bridges. That is the perfect color for that application. Don't paint the second bridge silver. I think they look great.
Moss green rustoleum spray paint
Awesome layout Daryl, Love the videos! Question: I bought the LED lights you recommended. Can those be extended in length by adding to them?
I think it is possible. But I have never tried it so not for certain about it.
@@EvanstonSub How are you connecting all the strings to go around your layout then?
Each 32ft strip has its own power supply.

@@EvanstonSubthank you 👍
You did a great job.but I would of done the track in the back before you did the front side
Yes. Ill remove the bridge before working on the tressle bridge.

Thanks for the warning, I'll be careful! I'll probably take the saw outside and wear a mask.
If you decide to sell your N scale Geneva Mississippi bridge I’d be interested and in Illinois as well

He out jumping of the cliff channel. Last 2 episode thru your area.
I saw those. Very cool. I should give him a list of pictures I need him to take for me.

Either athearn or scaletrains.com. Check with Lombardhobby.com. They usually have the best price.
No sooner will you repaint one truss bridge silver, the MOW will paint it green, or the other truss bridge silver 😊
We shall see. Appreciate you being a member 😊
Re: KC Chiefs: there went 10 & 0 😭
Sorry, but no.
