The concept around subsidizing and “buying the project” is really eye opening! I’ve never thought of that when I work on some projects that I know I’m losing money on but I do them for the review, or testimonial, or the specific skill and type of project I can include now in my portfolio. Looking at is as not a loss but a business expense almost you are buying the use to trade up to better. Awesome!
Spot on with this segment. As a business owner and freelancer you need a team to accomplish more than one job and you can't do all the jobs yourself. So hiring a team will enable you to make more money in a day. There are a ton of benefits from a business standpoint. Hello from Latvia! I like photography, cinematography and artsy stuff in general, but never thought to be good enough in that to actually go all in with that. Instead I work as a reasercher in Technical University. But your channel and some reading of books like "think and grow rich"... I can't be the weekend warrior no more! Entrepreneurship is something I been craving for 10 years now, the biggest obstacle for me has been finding the purpose/the Passion... Cause thats what everybody says "focus on Passion and you will succeed", in IKIGAI for example! But this has putted some real pressure on finding the Passion, what if It get it wrong... It's so Bad that I can not even tell what I really Love to do and I'm passionate about... And this constant 9 to 5 makes it even harder... Looking forward for some Deep soulsearching whiteboard sessions. And thank you for what you do, your videos has helped to switch the way I think, it's kinda good, but it also is messing UP my 9 to 5 job, as it gets increasingly hard to to back there.

I'm a mechanic and this is applicable even in blue collar trades. Pure gold. Wish I had this advice in high school. The only things not applicable in my field are: there are no freelancers, and the other thing is that there is no way to hire anyone for $10/hour anymore California due to California minimum wage laws. In your field, you guys can outsource various tasks to different countries where minimum wage does not apply.
He's so far off on the hourly rates it's insane. I work in the video industry and editor minimums are ~$50/hr in the agency world. And that's in TEXAS with 0 income tax and way lower COL. Assistant editors make more than $15/hr.

I'm a mechanic and this is applicable even in blue collar trades. Pure gold. Wish I had this advice in high school. The only things not applicable in my field are: there are no freelancers, and the other thing is that there is no way to hire anyone for $10/hour anymore California due to California minimum wage laws. In your field, you guys can outsource various tasks to different countries where minimum wage does not apply.
He's so far off on the hourly rates it's insane. I work in the video industry and editor minimums are ~$50/hr in the agency world. And that's in TEXAS with 0 income tax and way lower COL. Assistant editors make more than $15/hr.
