    Correction in part of explanation - Increasing rear suspension increases grip, not lowers :)

    Camber and toe are tricky to explain.
    Generally the game allows you only to adjust negative camber. That increases grip on certain corners where lots of loads are asked of the outside tires. Generally in long, fast corners. If theres too much camber, then you lose grip again, so it's a balance act. It doesn't quite work correctly in the game and you don't have the right tools to set them up (IMO temperatures of the tires), but in this years game they quite do a difference. So set up what feels best. Generally speaking, while cornering correct front cambeer givs more front grip, meaning more oversteer, correct rear camber gives more rear grip, meaning more understeer but also better traction in curved acceleration zones. On Baku for example I go for full out to the left rear camber
    On front axle the game only allows toe-out, meaning the front tires pointing outwards. This gives better turn-in ability, introducing oversteer on corner entry and mid corner, but mainly on corner entry.
    On the rear the game only allows toe-in, meaning the rear tires pointing inwards. Is adds stability on the rear cause it makes it harder for the rear to step out. This means more or less more traction, but definitley more understeer and stability.
    Both, toe-out and toe-in add more heat to the tires and increasing wear.

    I run 50% on dif off throttle always!! Reason for it is if you have to let off throttle to correct, chances are you need that little bit extra rotation to stay on track.

    Honestly i love this video, absolutely, but I usually just find a WR time trial that suits me (since i’m sht at setting up my own setups😂), and i think that will help most new-beginner drivers who don’t have their own style yet, irl i like an oversteery car and this applies to games as well.

    The only thing I've found to make a difference is the aero setup - nothing else seems to have any effect whatsoever, but then again I'm ridiculously slow anyway - can't get faster than a 1:51 round Spa for instance.

    • @fudgemcmuffin4829
      @fudgemcmuffin4829 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, at your current pace mate you won't recognise the small differences setups make. Atm your main focus should be learning racing lines and how the car reacts in different situations. Good luck!

    Hi JD! I’ve seen you play on the PS5 now and with a Fanatec Csl DD wheelbase. In the description of your videos you shared the in-game and the in-wheel settings. Could you please tell me how is it possible to change the wheel settings on this particular wheel base if you play on the PS5? You do it on the PC before and it stays like that, or you can manage the settings on the wheel itself? Thanks a lot for your answer in advance! 🙏🏻

    Question in Qualifying is the game f1 23, is there track evolution? like in real life im sure there is but just wanted to confirm and does it evolve based on in game time by the session or because of the cars in game going around, thank you if someone can help :)

    Limitless, I need a suggestion. I have been playing f1 for 3 years now without any help, with the exception of the racing line, which I removed for 5 months (which I used only for braking points), and with the racing line active I had always been very competitive, placing always in the top 5% overall on every circuit on time trial, and winning every multiplayer race. I've gotten a lot worse since I took it off; the first week I was about 2-3 seconds worse, but already the second week the gap was 1-0.5 seconds. however, despite all the time spent and 2 hours of playing a day, my gap has always remained the same. I need a lot of time to get used to the circuit and in the race I constantly make wrong braking points. Do you advise me to go back to using the racing line or to continue not to use it?
    If you advise me to keep it, what advice would you give me

      Watch his track guides even from older games like 22 or 21 and look for similar reference points when your driving and test braking a little later or earlier to see what works best. Try not to randomly guess for braking and even slow down your quickest lap and look for signs, curbs, barrier changes, boards etc. to get a better idea for it.

    • @MessiaOfficial
      @MessiaOfficial ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had a coaching session with JD one year ago, I was in a similar situation. He suggested me to turn it on and try to focus much on the apex than on the braking point (spot the reference with your peripherical vision while keeping the focus on the apex). One you gained that level of confidence, try to switch it off.
