What Is It? | Kawasaki W175 2024 FAQ #1

- The Kawasaki W175 is the pinnacle of the Japanese company's ability to localise products for the Indian market. This is a completely made-in-India 175cc motorcycle that sort of looks like a Bajaj CT100 in terms of design, which is a strange place to go to if you're thinking of the Indian mass market with a 175cc motorcycle in 2024. We'll discuss this in great detail in this video series, but this 100cc bike feel with a 175cc engine makes the Kawasaki extremely difficult to recommend. Quality levels are good technically, but the bike just looks downmarket, with the entire bottom half of the motorcycle looking more or less like they forgot to design it. It's a pretty pleasant motorcycle to ride, but every single time we look at the W175, it reminds us of a bike that belonged, barely, in the early 2000s and not in your garage.

Agreed. It resembles more like a Bajaj CT 100 rather than a Kawasaki motorcycle 😅
Exactly you nailed it bro
CT 100 itself is based on a older kawasaki
@@j0_318gamerzofficial yes, OG CT100 got it's engine from Kawasaki Caliber
What a roast, in initial few seconds😅
It’s a Kawasaki Barako on a suit. The Barako is a Philippines made 175cc Pantra bike. Very sturdy and is a solid workhorse, also a great base bike to those who loves to customize.
Thanks for letting us know @kentoylampingasan
Cant believe Shumi agreed to review the W175 😂 would love a behind the scenes video to see his actual feelings while testing it
Agreed 👍💯
Agreed ! Fantastic Insight as always. Waiting for the 1 hr video. Thank you
Another day of asking Shumi where he gets his shirts from? What brand?
♥️
Bro said "♥️"
Handloom😊
you can get similar earthly tones at uniqlo, that being said, shumi i think you have nailed minimalism, reminds me of tim dessaint
Shumi, never reveal this information please. Some things are best left as mysteries.
Fun fact: At Philippines..its seems like Kawasaki is indeed selling CT100 as their own...weird..
Kawasaki sells the ns200 too in some countries as their own.
@@ScootScoot125 seems like it ....what the 😭
Maybe because Kawasaki and Bajaj were in partnership in India and maybe are currently in joint venture in some countries too. Calibre is a bike that comes to my mind in Bajaj Kawasaki venture in India.
@@awesh711 thanks for sharing 🙌nice
More like distribution only. It only says as assembled by Kawasaki though. 😂😂.
W175 is a great donor bike for custom motorcycles. People in South East Asia have really good looking modified W175's.
The problem is the engine, which is dull and boring. It needs more power, atleast 20hp
That first sentence was a well deserved roast😂
My most favourite bike ..i love it
Interesting! Mind if we ask why @Originalrebelosho?
@@motorinc cauz of its looks ..it slowly grows on you.. I have removed the grabrail and saree guard..
Bajaj Boxer
I like it a lot. Classic is good.
Good to have your take @N0Xa880iUL.
Going to be the best selller
The performance numbers + the heating and abs not working issue and the fact that you still get a drum at the rear at this price point makes it hard to like.
It looks so simple and practical, and if the ergonomics are good, wish it sells well.
Yes, but in the flesh, it looks cheap and downmarket. We don't believe this bike has any hope of sales success in India, Kamaljith
Kawasaki may not have it with W175 but at least they make available the range of motorcycles all that isn't considered in other brands
In future this bike going to be a collectible for automobile enthusiasts ,😅
1. good for short riders who want retro looking bike if they think royal enfield is heavy to handle
I guess, Kawasaki must be thinking, if RE can do retro classic in 350-600cc range, why not do the same for under 200cc!
But the thing is, most people in this cc aren't looking for feel. They want performance or practicality. What RE does is aspiration in an aspirational class.
RE bikes are really good looking. can't say that about the w175.
They say , Bajaj kawasaki eliminator had one of the smoothest engine in the country. Then They put one in "hoodibaba". The pulsar engines today are just tak Tak Tak after 2 years
Reminds me of my uncle’s 4S champion when I was a kid. Little more modernised version.
One day it will become a classic and will be most coveted...just need some influential personality to ride it once..✅✅✅
Can we ask what makes you say that @govindmatondkar7502?
@@motorinc it gives me a vibe similar to RX100..retro look.
@@govindmatondkar7502 I have removed grabrail and it grabs attention like anything
The tank looks good but theres this custom tracker maker on instagram who chops up these early 2000s hondas/suzukis to make them genuinely pretty. This bike is half way there.
Tidy up the wires, chop off the ugly fenders. Replace the headlight with a modern round led light. Replace the blinkers.Cnc machine nice brass footpegs. Do a cat delete with a custom exhaust😅
At that point you'll be spending 1-2lakh extra.
It would be better to do it with a ct110x or an old rx😅😅
It's like the kawasaki Boxer!!!
please make a video on kawasaki z650rs
The rich man's CT 100
😅
Awesome Bike
Pinnacle of Kawasaki which is locally made in India 😅 What a good roast!
What about W230? Is it launching in India ?
Recently, I have had such a rush in my head to own a basic light wait commuter for city that I am looking from HF 100 (call me delivery boy if you like) to this W175. I hope you guys @motorinc can cover this in your longer version of the video. My current ride is bullet, Dominar 400 and owned FZ which I sold off unfortunately!
Hey @myytexp7493 - we cannot recommend the Kawasaki
It is retro bike. Simple to use. You can ride in a normal speed . It looks some what like RX 100 to some extent. Most importantly parts are cheaper which is a surprise because it is kawasaki and it should be costly. But it is cheaper.
It would make sense if it's been priced reasonably.
I like bike look but as per all specifications price should be max to max approx 1.10 lakh only
Reliance Trends of course! Buy 3 for 1800!
What would be The ideal pricing??? Or get it second hand at what price??
I know this is very long call, but can we actually have a review of the all the Japanese motorcycles/mopeds that were specifically made for India and how they stand compared to their competitors
Interesting suggestion @Dheeraj_Menon, what would you hope to learn from such a comparison?🤔
Here I would say considering how much options we currently have and the notions/beliefs that someway Japanese products are superior quality wise, have the other brands that compete in the segment regardless of whether it’s Indian or any other foreign brands, have caught up with them. If yes, then it would help us in steering the market to ensure the Japanese brands don’t take the Indian market lightly which will ensure better products with better quality and pricing comes from their end which will lead to the chain reaction of others following the same suite and in that way we can ensure that the customers are the winners with the options available for them. This is what I think will help us decide what we should have as expectations when we are buying something and tbh it’s regardless of the product category
They should have made W250 and priced it same as base model Hunter and it would have been success. Or they should have released ninja 250 single cylinder like they do south east asia
What about the w230? Is it going to come to the Indian market?
Looks somewhat similar to Boxer from Bajaj too😊
😁
Should have given a full length tank.
you forgot they made same bike when they were partners with bajaj
the bajaj kawasaki boxer
Current Bajaj CT100 / 110 is modern boxer actually
Do review of bajaj freedom
Fancy baja boxer…that’s all came to my mind😂
Bajaj CT 100 is exactly the Kawasaki Boxer
Saw it last week, didn't actually understand if it was an old restoration or a new bike, then I saw the number plate, looks weird ngl
Kawasaki trying their luck in lower cc bikes without depending on indian brands. This might take some times only if their design and pricing is set well
Its just a upgraded model of KB125
You did not mention the price for it in the shorts
This isn't the only short we'll have on the W175 @leanderrodrigues3568. Moreover, if you're looking for the price, we'll always suggest checking the manufacturer website for the up-to-date details.
They Should name Retro W175
Reminds of cb crux
🤜🏽🤛🏽
It reminds me of Bajaj Boxer 😁
In a good way, surely!😄
This motorcycle has Cult Status Potential.
After discontinuation 😂
We are ready to buy it as Bajaj ct 175 for a price tag of 1 lakh.😊😅
Reminds of boxer
who is the dealer in Mysore city?
Can you give a review about honda cb350rs please
No test bikes! A full year asking Honda 🤷🏽♂️
Take the head light from this one and replace it on to the Yamaha fz-x. Voila .. you’d have a better looking bike.
Just goofing around 😅
Really? The headlight is the only problem you have with the FZ-X?😅
@@motorinc Not really, but that’s the first thing which catches my eye and feels like it doesn’t belong in the retro design (to me). 😆 Was playing with the idea just in terms of looks though the fzx has its own set of problems.
ye kab hua
This how Kawasaki views indian consumers..!
Aap to seedhe shabdo m ye btaao ki leni chaaie ya nahi??
Agar aap ko ye accha lagta hai, test ride lijiye aur decide kariye @digsawai. Sirf humare kehne se koi gaadi nahi leni chahiye aap ko.
Kawasaki like most of the international vehicles manufacturers, has taken Indian market for granted for a really long time. For now, Kawasaki thinks India is not a major market for them, then who is ? Japan ? Or any other which hardly has any population at all.
The only motorcycle that really needs a question "what is it?" It does not fit anywhere.
Schönes Motorad. 😊
Strangely i seem to like the design 🎈
Thanks for sharing @anupamchetia9146.
All they had to do was launch a ninja 250 single locally produced for starters
Abs?
Bhai kuch haunted jaga pe ese video banao
🤣
Boxer 175
Really, if its a bike, it should look good too. Else you will end up discontinuing it
Nopes..
Just coz u think it belongs to old era .. it shud not be discarded ..
It was built for a purpose ..
Yes, that's your opinion and we respect it!😊
What about reliability?
Very reliable
Even if they did a ronin kind of motorcycle it would have worked
didnt know this bike exists
Well, now you do @lamoded7926. 😅
@@motorinc ofc thanks to you (where is the full i wanna know more)
In the works - soon!
Well the retro looks are very subjective I'm one of into retro bikes and I one CT 125X it's more then a commuter atleast for me I go so rough I've also Ride W175 it's Fun feels just like CT X models lil more power But you can't make it on off-roads like CT does thats hat I feel so, if you want a retro commuter cuz this bike is also kinda eye catchy you'll gets so many look on the road, so you can go for it
Would you pay ₹1.5 lakh for that though @bhushanms?
It reminds me of CD 100 for some reason 🤷🏻♂️.
A motorcycle of many faces it seems @eashannnaik5705.
When you like the ct 100 so much but due to having an excess budget you get w175
That person should be very happy then, right @dhyeyapatel1626? 😅
I think most of us barely have a parking space, let alone a "garage"
Makes the decision simpler, doesn't it?😊
@@motorinc Agreed
Is it comfortable for tall guys?
I m 6ft ..it's a pain in the arse for long rides..still I take it the most over my reborn or meteor
@@Originalrebelosho what about the service cost and availability of parts ?
@@altzpr324 cost of parts and servicing is quite expensive.. availability issue has not come
Bet I won't see one on the road
Roast a bike/not recommend it only for it looking old?really? Doesn't sound fair.
What Shumi's sharing are his opinions @jayaprasanthcg. You're free to make your own, of course.😊
Waiting for Hero Maverick review
It seems its made for African countries where such designs are popular but since they are manufacturing in India they though Indians would buy it too..
Pls suggest.
I'm looking for a 1 up highway tourer with atleast 120kmph cruising speed. Vstorm 250 or scrambler 400x or Duke 250.
Budget 3L
For city i use access 125.thank you
I would say scrambler 400x
Test rides done @aathiraa2024?
watch their review of scrambler 400x and you will be amazed
@@AAKEngine I watched all three reviews and the confusion level went up. Took a test drive of x and 250. X is better upto 110 only. Yet to check vstorm.
In access itself I can do 85-90 on highway. Getting test drives upto highways are difficult here. Looking for rental options.
That's why asking expert's opinion for highway cruising speed.
@@motorinc replied below. Yet to test vstorm.
Still confused. Sole purpose is highway Turing with all day cruising speed of 120ishh.
Kawasaki W series kid .. should've use the 88 Kawasaki design that way it might sell.
Maybe that's where it belongs and not in your garage🤣🤣
Not sure why they chose this model to enter the Indian market.. What the hell were they thinking😂
💯
Do it around 80k and then people will be flying to buy it 😅for that 175cc
They should have launched it with a 300 cc engine then people might have considered it, at the moment it's in no man's land.
It looks like old 2000 year Bajaj Kawasaki
Unsold Bajaj boxer with Kawasaki tags..... 😂
Iss bike ko to koi uncle ji bhi ka kharide. Shumi ji
honda is better by at-least making RE as their inspiration , why kawasaki chose CD dawn as inspiration??😂
😂😂😂that was clean
Not " what is it" :
"where is it"
Its a second bike for people with a parallel twin
Interesting thought @mandarkerkar4224. If you were in that position, would you get this over the competition?
@@motorinc why not. It's not for your everyday commuter.
Thanks for letting us know! We would not buy this, though. For this money, *_VASTLY_* superior motorcycles are on sale
@@motorinc yup, as I said, not for everyone
Bajaj boxer 150
Wasn't it KB @Kunalagnihotri12345? We wonder what does the K stand for! 😅
Apko Bikes ki Knowledge Bilkul Nhi h Sir, VERY Politely Saying...
Thank you for the feedback @ashishtripathi880! We hope you find another channel that does. 🙂
Kawasaki caliber
feels like its made for sale in Pakistan
It looks like Bajaj Boxer...
😆
Again we see another manufacturer with no coherent vision of its design for a bike? Like wtf is this? Just a few details could have made this such a major force in this segment and yet management seems to have chosen mediocrity over pushing the envelope
🤜🏽🤛🏽
