  • I bought the Winspace Hyper 2023 Wheelset a few months ago. In this video, we will take a good look at the design and the details of the wheel, and I will share with you my experience with this wheelset.
    Me English no good, I add a caption in the video, in case I pronounce some words wrong.
    Thanks for watching.

    Great video, a perfect breakdown of the benefits of the wheelset for the everyday rider! Great detail shots, and cool B-roll too! Keep it up and this channel will go far :)

    Wow. Your video was very good at presenting the basics of the wheel without getting too technical. I really appreciated how you measured both the 25mm and 28mm tyres. This really helps for someone considering a rim brake version as the tolerances are usually tighter than disc brakes. Cheers!

    Nice.. a little sharing, i bought D45 in October 2022 pairing with Giant Crosscut AT2 700x38C & installed on my Giant Revolt 2022, i ride everyday until just about near 10.000km to this day i think. Finally both front and rear 6903 bearing broken & i need little, just little rim tunning after all torture. I ride mostly on paved road, single track, wet and muddy condition, for this kind of wheelset, i think i can accept this. This wheel is not bombproof, but it is fun to ride and also has a nice looking.

    Great review. Based on other TH-cam reviews these wheel have similar or slower aero gains to it’s equally priced competitors.

    Great to see you posting vids again, Cliff! Another great review. I came across your review of the cannondale topstone last year and was hoping you'd post some more. BTW, I went out an bought the topstone, in large part influenced by you. It's a good bike, and you are right, is quite fast. Though I put different tires on it made her seem even faster.

    I think the naming rule is alike ENVE SES series with the first number for front wheel height while the other for rear wheel height in cm

    i have the 50mm hyper but the d45 hubs seems alot quieter than the 50mm. did they replace the ratchet on d45 or just more grease in them?

    • @Clifu
      @Clifu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are quieter. I also have HYPER 50 from last year, and I notice both D45 & D67 are quieter compared to HYPER 50. However, I don't know why.

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 ปีที่แล้ว

      All Winspace hubs use the same freehub mechanism: A 6-pawl cluster that engages 3 pawls simultaneously and alternates with the other set of 3 pawls after every click.
      The amount of grease and viscosity does have an impact on how the mechanism will sound, but I prioritise smoothness over everything else. Fast-engaging hubs are always louder by design.

    • @vedhed7969
      @vedhed7969 ปีที่แล้ว

      They’ve definitely increased the greasing of the hubs. My og 2020 model had almost none, my D45s were overflowing

    Is 25c better for these wheels than 26c or 28c?

    • @Clifu
      @Clifu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would guess they kind of design these new wheels around 28c in mind.

      @@jhayr1987 Not just the disc brake versions, including the rim brake versions. That's why I said "HYPER 2023", meaning all six variants are optimised this way.

      Are you saying they are uncomfortable to ride? I do long distances. That is my main concern with buying carbon spoke wheels.

      @@CrabgrassFarmer yeah. You need 28s at a lower pressure. They were so harsh on 25s. I have the 2023 version now

      @@TrickyTree84 Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking of getting the 2023 version and definitely running 28s. I do 9-10 hour ride/events. Would you be ok with the 2023 models and 28 tires for that long?

      @@CrabgrassFarmer yeah I do 100 mile rides on them. Also to mention I'm in the UK and our roads are terrible. I run around 60 to 70 psi on 28s and they are fine.
