if you just pretend the rest of this season doesnt exist... just watching drogon is really fun and epic.
it's pretty underwhelming compared to HotD's dragon scenes tbh.
@@yoanmihov5143 truthfully haven't gotten caught up to HOTD yet but that def sounds exciting
@@LuluStarverse You're in for a treat, especially towards the last episodes of the season. I envy you. 😁
The house dragons cgi is soo obvious that it takes me out. Also no major battles to compare
@@abdul30077 CGI in HotD is much more realistic, dude. You're either tripping or don't understand what makes good CGI - good CGI. Drogon looks like a videogame character next to Vhagar. He is too shiny and symmetrical, his eyes and face in general also fall into uncanny valley. Also overall CGI in HotD tries to use more weather effects to make things harder to see, which helps the viewer complete parts of the image with his own mind.
I don't even know why I'm trying to explain this to a person that liked GoT's final season, I would have better success speaking to a wall.
At this point, all i care about is the survival of drogon.🐉🐉🐉
same
true story
Yup.
Came true. The only one who survived.
True 🤣
I can't help but love how wrathful and violent drogon can be. I think there is a part of him that wants to avenge his siblings throughout the wars.
He was really mad, his fire destroyed all the walls on the red keep
"The idea that we control dragons is an illusion " - King Viserys
When it comes to his Mother he doesn't play about 😂
Wow Drogon’s firepower had really evolved at this point. Not to mention Drogon is really pissed….
I love the idea that Dragons are just so big and so fast that you legitimately will FEEL them coming long before you ever catch a proper glimpse to defend yourself. You just *feel* something massive charging straight at you.
Not mention to hot blonde mom guiding them to annihilate their enemies.
@@mijo1975
lol exactly!
Drogon was much more likely to be killed by the ballistas on the castle walls than Rhaegal by the ones on the ships. Plot armor is indeed a strong thing
I disagree, the ships were hidden and had the element of surprise. Although dany was informed in episode 4 of the location of the iron fleet so it was pretty bad writing that made it all make no sense.
@@geordiejaygaming2878 hidden??? That was an entire fleet of huge ass ships while Dany was airborne. She should've noticed it with peripheral vision but I guess she lacks that too. They were barely even "hidden" once Rhaegal was dead.
Nah fam it was just dumb writing altogether. They couldve written in something like a fog surrounding the area to explain why they didnt notice (still kinda dumb and halfassed) but they literally gave us nothing
@@geordiejaygaming2878 Daenerys should’ve been able to see the ships. Then Eurons fleet all of a sudden forgot how to aim and missed Drogon who was coming right at them
@@jessicab1806 I disagree the aiming tends to be useful when catching the dragons off guard so I dont think it's a case of can't aim ahead used speed and the surprise of attacking vertically almost. But at dragonstone the dragon was gliding, I agree she should of seem the fleet and/or expected considering she was briefed in episode 4 prior. That is bad writing imo and a cheap crappy way to write a dragon off.
@@nomnom137 I tend to agree with bad writing it was my pet hate with episode 4/5 getting briefed and then still getting pinged but let's take bad writing out of it for a minute and we're all stupid the ships protrayed to have the element of surprise.
But I'm with you on that 100% bad writing
Apparently she didn't need Viserion or Rhaegal. Shame, it would've been badass to see all 3 burning away the armies as opposed to overpowered Drogon.
They were both dead by this point
@@KRD2001 yea no shit, OP wasnt implying otherwise
"Overpowered". He was the biggest, strongest, and with the most battle experience with Dany. He wasnt overpowered, he was just the best out of the three.
Wasn’t overpowered, that’s how the other dragons should have been. The other were killed far to easily. I’d recommend reading or listening to the book Fire and Blood.
In fact the scorpions shouldn’t have even been able to pierce the dragons scales as they should be stronger than steel. Rhaenys dragon was only killed by one after it went through her eye
Its weird that she never had a saddle for Drogon. After watching House of the Dragon, theres a much more realistic approach to how difficult it is to stay on a dragon. That she just clinged to drogons spikes are ridiculous especially in that speed where the wind alone would just blow her off
She rode her dragon the way Dothraki rode their horses.
@@direwolf7491 horses aren’t dragons .
@@Kyubii01 True but the idea is that she represents the Dothraki culture as well as the Targaryen.
Because when the targaryens fell and dragons went extinct hundreds of years ago, the Valyrian dragonkeeping techniques, knowledge, and innovations also died. I wish Sam could have researched this in the Citadel grand library, lol
It's probably because her dragons weren't that big or hard to ride yet!!
Otherwise she would've had hard time climbing and holding to the dragon. It's not hard to think about it wether be it a horse or a dragon!!
As amazing as drogon was, just imagine what balerion could do
You don't need to imagine it. Harrenhal is there for everyone to watch.
@@michaelmcdoesntexist1459 I would’ve like to see harrenhal merl, they say balerions fire was black
@@THORFANG totally man. I want to see those black&red flames melting Harrenhal under the moonlight.
@@michaelmcdoesntexist1459 idk how they’d do it but an Aegons conquest series would be sick. Just Aegon and Balerion wrecking shit.
It’s not real guys…..
God this season. I still cant get over the fact that the biggest threat in the show went from the night king to like gimbal mounted ballista turrets. The turrets themselves don't even feel right bc of how easily they maneuver too. Its like a modern gun.
The long night went from being the main quest to just a side quest. So much wasted potential
@@tommisabre666 Especially with how the song of ice and fire and the night kings return are all so big and borderline the main story piece in House of the Dragon, makes the let down even worse for GoT
Yeah I know they wanted to end the series with the fight for the throne. But the way the prophecy was so important in HotD. they should have had Dany on the iron throne first, then fought the Night King. They still could have done her going mad if they really wanted to, her dragons could have died during the last stand against the army. That fight should have also lasted 2-3 episodes lol
It’s also like no one had any battle experience. Why not have catapults dotted all around with small crews. Have so many spaces out that she wouldn’t be able to work out where it all was coming from. They also could have loaded up the catapults with wild fire. Wild fire can hurt dragons and even if it won’t burn the dragon or Dany, the concussive shockwave could easily knock her out or knock her off. It’s really pathetic. It also buggles my mind how they stand out in the open waiting knowing she has a dragon. They should have resorted to guerrilla style tactic or even hid in the houses. Season was just a joke
I love how they easily shot Rhaegal 3 for 3 and land none on Drogon
Tyrion warned her about them earlier. It was barely shown but he did warn her.
@@Jerid58 that's bullshit. without the amount of accuracy they had when hitting rhaegal, at least one should have hit drogon.
@@jyotirani8187 watching house of dragon it shows if one is controling the movements of the dragon in air they can miss especially if the raiders knows the direction they are coming from unlike uncontrolled dragons remember these are very heavy weapons there speed is noticeable.
@@paulluka2029 watching HotD, and then this shit (late GoT seasons) makes you appreciate that GRRM is once again involved in production and how good HotD is.
They took Rhaegel by surprise, it was done badly in the show. They appear out of a cloud and just like that. The manoeverability of the dragons once warned gives them the advantage. Still Cercei should have kept a few ballista around hidden by sacks or buildings for when she became overconfident (as she did when the bells rang and she landed on a building for a while).
"The Iron fleet sort of forgot they have god tier aim when shooting dragons" - David Benioff
Drogon was moving fast as freak then
Their radar was offline for repairs at the time.
@@Elthenar LOL
The dothraki sorta forgot that they died up north
It was annoying how it went from plot armour to "guess I'll die now for no reason" logic. It's similar to Rogue One and No Time To Die when they just give up and die at the end instead of trying to escape.
Only the character that I've hoped to survive Game of Thrones: Drogon our boi.
Thank goodness he survived D&D!!!
Drogon knows how to make a fucking entrance
Right?! Was awesome!
Man, I always mesmerized by this show. Everything is beautiful in here. The visual, lighting, Dragon CGI, weapon artillery and medieval combat was amazing. Sadly the plot can't balance it
But you still have to read shit to tell what is going on.
@John Q. Bebtelovimab keep crying
It balanced it for a long time! RIP the characters we loved
You all realize it's meant to be disappointing right? No one is cheering for Daenerys to go mad, it's meant to be a heartbreaking, uncomfortable twist.
Watching the Lannister and Greyjoy troops gradually realize exactly how screwed they were was *very* satisfying.
golden company went the same way the night king did, hyped up for many seasons then easily brushed away
I wouldn't say easily brushed away. You say that as if the Night King didn't even put up a fight.
@@denverlilly3669 The night king was treated as a joke lets be honest...

A@@DragoNerd137
The fact is she didn't need all 3 all along. Drogon was being built up as the new Balerion the black dread. It's with one with Daenerys so after watching what happened with Vicerion and Raghael they caught the iron fleet sleeping and demolished them like a Dragon of Drogons size should do.
Viserion and Rhaegal*
well to be honest in the books Drogon is reincarnated Balerion. They are the same type of dragons, same colour (black with red details) and both breath black flames and bleed black blood…
@@jan.vrhovnik this is a very interesting information. Is it really a reincarnation in the book or just physical similarities like color and flames?
@@jan.vrhovnik Except Drogon is nowhere near the size of Balerion or even Vhagar. Not close.
@@BigTulsa because he stil a baby. in the book, he's only 5 years old. in the show, he's 7 years old. Balerion near 300 years old. Drogon would catching up for sure.
Music... Music is everything. Thank you Ramin.
He just decimated everything, drogon in full throttle!
Drogon you BADASS!
It always blows my mind how quickly Drogon and Daenerys adapted. The speed at which they fly, how Drogon dodged the arrows. Just brilliant!
Too inconsistent
@@adriana7384well someone's botherd 😅🤣
I also love the 3rd person point of view of what the people see when dany is coming for them
That was brilliant. Too bad the ending was so horrible and unjust. Drogon and Daenerys are magnificent to watch! ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, dragons were the best part for me. Ending was very disappointing.
I wish someone would make a video of Drogo's speech, but with Drogon fulfilling it.
Rhaegal should have fulfilled Drogo's speech. You know, Rhaego / Rhaegal, right?
1:25-1:40 that tactic was smart
Go low make them shoot you then before it reaches you go high they all miss then when they are reloading burn them all
Long ranged weaponry can't do much against a quick, close ranged assault.
Nothing about this episode is smart.
I assure you those people firing wouldn't be idiotic and there would be like a third of them aiming above him because that's the limited direction he's probably using to evade. Also considering firing a volley there would be assigned fire placement so some would fire up/down/left/right to the target.
Also that gate blowing up and drogon flying above it after about half a kilometer of flight later. How the hell can you explain that (It would make more sense to make that gate blow up with hidden stash of wildfire triggered by drogon)
They sniped one of her dragons…..from a longer distance than this…from behind a mountain, with the 3 first shots….a couple episodes ago…. this entire sequence as terrible
that wouldn't work against a volley of shots, but, the iron fleet forgot the word volley exist.
No Dracarys!? Something tells me that Drogon wanted revenge because these are the assholes who killed his brother Rhaegal! So he burns everything!
how are they asshole . Whos stupid enough to go into war without intending to get killed
Ahah...sorry...but can you imagine it..everyone thinks Danny has gone mad. And is burning kingslanding....but in reality... It's drogon who's gone postal and she is sat on top screaming "sh#*"! F@#k! Drogon stop!"
An angle nobody thought about 😂😂
😆 nice
Danny went to Hogwarts and Dracarys has become a nonverbal spell.
Oh man, that's what I have been waiting for 8 seasons. A dragon doing it's job!!!

Should've done this last season

Dragon armor, ice dragon, another hidden dragon 🤣🤣🤣
The fans are evidently much more creative than D&D
@@astrowiz3544 might be, but also much stupider
@@Drogon_Visenya true, true
This was stupid because she literally could have done yhis as soon as she got to Westeros and this would have been over how many seasons ago. These guys essentually became the storm troopers of Westeros and suddenly couldn't hit shit.
@@obsidiana07 that Tyrion bastard f*uck it up her army and dragons with his stupid ideas and mercy. She could have taken the entire Westeros with minimum casualties. That stupid imp busted her and then betrayed her. And was rewarded. They ruined the show.
Years later watching Dany and Drogon burning things is still fun to watch.
My only regret is that dumb and dumber did not also vanish in a blast of dragonfire. They earned it.
I love how she appears exactly like Aegon did when he torched Harrenhall. Death from above.
Wow what an epic scene. Dany is the most legendary and epic character in GOT. After HOTD we should all agree that she was the greatest Targaryen and dragon rider too. No saddle,no dragon masters to train her dragons, she did them herself ...Yes she bonded with 3 dragons too.
She only bonded with drogon but otherwise your point still stands
No, she wasn't. She was magically bounded AND imprinted to her dragons. She is also not a combatant. Even grandma Rhaenys... Hell, even Rhaenyra would put Danny on shame at riding.
@@michaelmcdoesntexist1459 Is this a joke? She trained all 3 dragons without any dragon masters, bonded with 3 dragons, no one has done that before, yes she rode on Drogon without any saddle and harness.....Ohh.....no one has done these things.....She even allowed Jon to ride Rhaegal but that dragon too followed Dany back.... beat that....Not even Aegon the Conqueror or Visenya can come close to this....
@@supernova652 Kay, first of all, she did not bond with 3 dragons. She is bound to Drogon. Even if the other two are her 'children' she can't ride them and even she says so. Besides, she never shows the magic bond other targs show when Viserion or Rhaegal died. Second, she didn't trained them further than teaching them to burn things. The most basic shit she learnt from her brother. Third: while the dragons, even Drogon, cared for her, they actually didn't obey her. They did whatever they want at anytime, even killing innocent people, something no other dragon did in the story.
And no. Riding without any saddle or equipment is not a feat, is ignoring physical laws and lazy writing from the showrunners. Just another shitty aspect of seasons 6-8.
She wasn't just a dragon rider.. she was their mother too..
1:10 I love how he jsut goes flying
She may not be a good ruler but damn she’s one of the best dragon warrior in all Targaryen’s history, if not the best.
She's a cringe Mary Sue. At this point I consider everything after season 5 of GoT fanfiction.
@@greywolfrider19 She singlehandedly controlled Drogon to defeat the entire dragon-hunt fleet and the garrison on the city's wall while they were dodging those scorpion bolts launching at them. That's rather solid proof.
@@yoanmihov5143 The entire GOT universe is already a fantasy to begin with. You may not like certain things but you can't deny that they are facts of the story. At least of the series version anyway.
@@scream8564 there's good fantasy that immerses you and makes everything about itself believable through grittiness, fleshed out multidimensional characters and believable and intriguing plot, and there's bad fantasy that follows classic Hollywood tropes and plot structure. Guess which one of those categories late GoT seasons fall into, for me at least.
PS: the problem is season 7 and 8 don't match the tempo, feel and philosophy of early GoT. They stick out grotesquely like 2 foreign body parts stitched to another body.
@@scream8564 "it's just fantasy". If this argument worked and didn't make you look like a complete moron you could dismantle every single work of fiction, be it film, art or writing. "Oh,you don't like that movie? well it's just fiction." What do you think you prove by saying it?

The dragon is too well mannered that he uses the front gate
The irony of the Scorpion crew leader yelling, "FIRE!" to his gunners . . . just moments before Drogon envelopes them in . . . fire.
1:29 "Fire!" That term only came about after the use of guns. Unless he was screaming that he saw fire.
Can't you just accept that in their universe they use "fire" just because… idk, it sounds cool or just because in their universe it's normal to say that instead of "shoot"?
@@angrymang0 No, previous season's writing used "nock" and "loose", which is accurate and true to the pre-gunpowder period. It's only in the last season that they started using "fire". You "nock" and "loose" arrows, you don't fire them lmao
@@PhongTran-km1mx I can't remember when but I vaguely remember when someone shot a crossbow and someone said shoot I think it was when the wall got attacked by wildlings

I always come back to scene for the look between GreyWorm and the leader of the Golden Company. The confusion in his face because he doesn't know what that destructive rumbling noise is or where its coming from. The game face GreyWorm has and the confidence he knows what is happening so he steps forward. He knows what the sound of falling cities sounds like!!! There was an episode earlier on in the series (I cannot recall which one) but I think it was Tyrion explaining to someone what the sound of a fallen city was like and the terror that ensues. This was such a great scene.
maybe the confusion is from not understanding why he is standing in front of the walls and not on them
@@BBanzaj yes, you have a point. But he is the leader of the Golden Company. He would've had to have stood in front to lead anyway.
@@stephaniew1043
In front of his men? maybe, in front of the wall when they are the defenders? probably not
@@BBanzaj okay, maybe I didnt understand your comments after all. They were outside the wall to meet the opposing army (as the majority of the battles for this show have displayed) because that's what happens in war. He was standing on the front line because he is the leader. The look of confusion crossed his face when the noises of a city being destroyed was heard. He knows war and battle but he does not know the sound of a dragon or the sound of a city being blown up by dragon fire. That's pretty much my interpretation of the scene. ☺️
@@greywolfrider19 no offense taken. That's the best thing about interpretation. Everyone is different ✌🏿
8 seasons 73 episodes all that budget and she never bothered to make armors for her dragons.
Viserion and Rhaegal you will always be famous
if i remember correctly, the scorpion thing is not supposed to be able to pierce through the dragons as well. If im not mistaken, the only way it would kill the dragon is if it hit a weaker point like the eyes, since their scales are supposed to be as strong as steel (or maybe even stronger).
So technically she didnt need armor. The writers are the ones who "forgot" that detail and decided to kill the other 2.
@@13dg You're absolutely correct! Meraxes only died because the scorpion bolt pierced her eye. Their scales made them impervious to injuries made by basic weapons.
Yall keep saying this but a dragon having armor for some reason looks ridiculous and it could be bothersome and heavy for a dragon like cmon now

Jabreel Jaynes one word “revenge” and it was well deserved.
I thought she was gonna do it when was night so they wont see her or sum shit 😂 but she said nah imma do it in daylight. Tbh i didn't think she was gonna make it.
Those scorpions never had a chance against Drogon imho. They only managed to kill one of the dragons because it was a surprise attack. There are two HUGE flaws with them when Drogon and Danny were aware of them. The first, it takes freaking ages to reload the dang things. Putting a new bolt in, cranking it and aiming it. Given how mobile Drogon is despite his size...they just take far too long to reacquire their target due to their sheer weight. So when they miss, there is a 99% chance that they die to dragon fire well before they manage to reload and aim the scorpion again. The other 1% chance that they don't die to dragon fire is because...well...Drogon torched someone else.
The second flaw. They have decent upwards firing capabilities when Drogon is far away. So, their best window is in the first few seconds of spotting him at a distance...and at his speed, you only get one volley at best, a volley that at that distance is pretty easy for him to avoid. Then it's over as it takes just a few more seconds for him to close that distance and at that point, he is far too close and is just far too quick/agile. There just isn't enough room for the scorpion to aim upwards when he is in such a close range. A serious flaw for...well...you know, something that can fly. Not to mention aiming downward from the city walls overlooking the sea is literally just them shooting in Dorgon's general direction as they have no way to actually aim when Drogon goes in low.
Thus the result was obvious. Drogon's nosedive from above played to the scorpions second flaw and with his built up momentum, the first flaw became glaringly obvious. Thus the fleet barely lasted a minute before being utterly destroyed and rendered unfit for any further combat...and the city walls had all the remaining scorpions all neatly lined up in a row so that a single strafing run of Drogon's fire would wipe out a majority of them.
Final verdict Scorpions were only good as a one-off surprise.
So as an end note. Drogon best boi! The only reason I really kept coming back to the show lol. To see mah boi in action, literally did not care if anyone else died in the show. So long as mah boi Drogon lived. Dang CGI black dragon carried the show on his wonderful scaly back and was the best character of the show for me and the only one I ever get worried about (When the white walkers were piling on him and stabbing him I was so freaking scared he was done for! D: ) So for me, Drogon is best boi! lol. xD
I love how you typed a paragraph to try to somehow justify the dogshit that rhaegal's death was. They made him die for 1 reason only. Jon could not be on the back of a dragon when Dany burned innocent people. That is the only reason. His death made 0 sense and if you actually think it does you are either stupid or you are delusional and trying to do 4D mental gymnastics to justify the shitpile that it was.
@@jimlahey5981 Did you mistakenly reply to me or something? Nowhere in any of what I typed did I try to justify Rhaegal's death. The only thing I even mentioned related to his death was how the scorpions only managed to kill him because it was an ambush. Which only happened because Danny "forgot" about the fleet for some stupid reason. So idk wtf you are on if you thought I was trying to justify his death...only one doing 4D mental gymnastics is you if you were indeed replying to my post that was entirely about how the scorpions were, imho, pretty useless when facing Drogon in this scene.

The most iconic beast of the dragon dynasty, Drogon 💕
There's been much larger dragons depicted in HOTD; along with other sci-fi/fantasy, but the complete decimation of King's Landing has got to be the biggest, most epic display of dragon going full-dragon to date.
Bigger than the male dragon sacking the army convoy & castle in "Reign of Fire"
Bigger than Smaug taking out Lake-Town.
If there's ever a GOT sequel reintroducing a Balerion or Vhagar sized Drogon after 30-40 years in the wild (maybe an uncomfortable reunion with a 70 yr old Jon Snow), then the inhabitants of Westeros/Essos are going to have their first Kaiju.
The Golden Army went and go 😭😭😭
Drogon: I came here purely to fuck shit up. It's time to go to work.
Drogon had to have a big meal and some water after going to KL and burning that shit down
DROGON the magnificent will always be the best dragon … he was as handsome as hell and had a sense of humour when it came JON SNOW kissing his mother that brilliant stare down of his made JON SNOW pretty nervous.. loved it ..

Imagine if the long night Battle at Winterfell took place at Kings Landing instead ? That would have been a much larger battle spectacle to see😍❤❤
1:55 to 1:58 is one of my favorite shots in the series- the enemies burning with Drogon sailing by behind them nonchalantly, with that ominous wingbeat. Such a badass sequence, shame the rest of this episode was shit
Enemy soldiers: "FIRE!"

01:49 - He said it in English and Drogo understood. That dragon is bilingual. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not one of them could hit drogon at this range but were able to snipe rheagal 3 times while flying 500 feet in the air xDD
Rhaegal was weak! Drogon is more powerful and intelligent!
Drogon is so powerful only him was enough for them
Drogon its not like the other dragons. he`s smarter, faster, stronger... drogon and dany are always connected in a very special way. this is the dragon I waited all seasons to see
Drogon drank napalm that day.
The technology that puts in thjs dragon is just beyond awe inspiring.
love how every ship fired
She wiped them all out with one single dragon. Just imagine if she still had all three... or just two!
0:22 drogon went supersonic damn!
The music in the beginning is called The Last War by Ramin Djawadi
0:52 guess D&D forgot Euron has a crew full of mutes too then
if someone's tongue is cut off, they can still make noises. They can't talk articulately but they can grunt, yell and stuff. They can only make no actual noise when the throat and vocal cords itself is removed I believe
D&D kinda forgot about the iron fleet
Cersei: "why do the scorpions not shoot?"
Scorpions: "we don't do that here"
The music was awesome
Drogon living his best life - "Fire from the Sky"
Drogon destroying the Iron Throne which his big daddy Balerion forged is the best moment of the show
Drogon switched to explosive shots when he hit that gate 😂😂😂
I know the ending Disney make sense given the 8 years story build up. But I can somewhat understand the rage of Danerys. She lost two of her children in front of her eyes, being absolutely helpless. So the rage kicking in made a little sense
Exactly. I get her rage and her frustration. Her children were murdered before her eyes and she had to watch helpless and bottle all up her rage until it exploded. It's a little justifiable when she burns Kings Landing but, then on the other hand, her burning down Kimgs Landing with innocent men, women, and children inside that had nothing to do with her children's death was crossing a line, for me at least. I support a woman's wrongs and a woman's rights but up to a certain point 😅😅
Imagine how badass this scen would have been with 3 dragons and their riders
I hope to see Drogon grow bigger just like Balerion
We'll see in the sequel "Snow"
3:21 is how i run in my dreams 😂
Drogon did in fact of have armor on that day, made from the strongest material...Plot, he had plot armor.
What was the point of spending 7 seasons gathering an army to fight lannisters when 1 dragon was enough
Soldiers: What is the strategy commander?
Commander: Let's wait for the dragon and shot once or twice, if we fail let's just stay still
Soldiers: Sounds like a good plan
- We fear no enemy (except dragons and hordes of dothraki screamers and other unfriendly beings with sharp and hot things)
I remember just 🤣🤣🤣as this was going. Gods!! What a horribly funny season this was, so bad that all you could do sometimes was just LOL. Not excusing seasons 5 to 7, this was just the cherry on top.
That's my boi, Drogon!
I felt the intense burn. Drogon is one of the most beautiful looking dragons
