Ok so i just purchased a 2015 new to me overland model, and i just got it inspected, the person who i usally go to didn't know how to turn it off. I am thankful both for his honesty and this video to figure out how to turn it off while it got the car inspected thanks.
Great video, thanks for making this video. Just turn mine to tire jack mode so I can work on the transmission filter and fluid change. I did hear the air leak out in the air lines in the engine area. Doing ano second task and saw this video. Luckily the battery had been dead and just replaced. All these fancy air suspension is nuts. LOL
Thanks Jimmy...now I know what to tell service tech's when I replace tires/brakes, etc. If you saw the guys I have to deal with you'd understand why I don't trust them to know or care.
@@jimthecarguy I have grand Cherokee 2015 and I did change the tires but It seems there is a problem, the lights of the suspension keep lighting and i can’t low down the suspension.Do you think it’s a programming issue. Please i need your consultation
I lifted a lot of Mercs , Audis and BMWs with air suspensions but never had blown air strut . Before time i was locking them all ( if they allow you , because BMWs doesn't have that option on every model , maybe the new ones have it , not sure ) . But i read somewhere a bulletin about the jacking mode on Audi and they claimed that this jacking mode is for easier tire changing method . If you not lock the suspension you will have to jack up the car really high to be able to change the tire on the road .
At our shop one time we lifted a land rover that had air shocks and the guy didn't Turn off the bags they made a big pop sound and then they didn't work anymore
No your air suspension does not blow out if you forget to use the setting. But it can push the truck off the jack, if using the jack from the trunk or roller jack.
This is a good practice, but not required for a oil, tire or brake service on a lift. If you are changing a tire on the side of the road, it's much safer to disable first. (It's in the owner's manual)
“AERO” mode = Aerodynamic It slightly lowers the front of the vehicle at high speeds (50mph+) to help reduce wind resistance helping in gas mileage for long road trips on straight highways
Please ask help Is there a control feature Jeep Cherokee 2012 Overland. Want to be the successor is lower than the Imam I want to be the Imam higher than the back How to please please
@@jimthecarguy thanks for the response. I will be purchasing an 2018 Overland tomorrow that has the air suspension. Do you know if there has been any complaints with the air suspension in the newer models?

It gets more complicated every year. but great tip!

Me neighbor tech that, loudest noise I have ever heard, the band slipped off and boom!
Can u change the suspension on a overland to regular instead of air suspension

That is nice to know about the newer vehicles.
Sidney Mathious Hope it helped.
Will I avoid air suspension issues if it is simply switched off thanks in advance
Have you found any information on this ? I just got a jeep and I’m wondering the same thing .
@@joseamaro3810 There's no way to turn the system off. The tire jack mode only disables it until you start driving the vehicle.
Going to working on a new to me 2015 JGC summit. THANK YOU!!!
On audi a 8?suspension off or on?to prevent air suspension damage
Does this work on a 2012 overland summit?
I see the "AERO" in my jeep grand cherokee overland... What's the meaning of the "AERO"?
Once you hit 50 mph the car lowers .5 inch to increase gas mileage.
“AERO” mode = Aerodynamic
It slightly lowers the front of the vehicle at high speeds (50mph+) to help reduce wind resistance helping in gas mileage for long road trips on straight highways
If I will remove the rear frame in upper arm rear lower arm rear, what is the best way to do, because the air springs, it's hard because of pressure
Hold so the car drivable without the air suspensions ?
Can you lift the car to the highest position and then use tire back mode to keep it there. Asking for oil change reasons
Yes, you can do that. Ive done it several times for oil changes.
ALSO WORKS ON NEWER DODGE RAM1500 PICKUPS THANKYOU
Thank you for your input and for watching.
My friend, there is a button "parking" under your elbow. Just click it and you are good.
