    Got quoted $4800 to replace the compressor and air lines to my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee from two separate Jeep dealerships that I paid to diagnose my air suspension issues. Same thing it was sitting really low on the front. I saw this video and did this just to check before I spent the money and it fixed it. Thank you for saving me so much money! Now about those diag fees I was charged....

    I am so happy that I found this video! My Jeep has been dropping the nose when parked for a few hours. After following this video and completing the replacement, it's no longer losing air in the front shocks. Thank you for posting this helpful information.

    Hello, had to give you a THANKS!! I bought a 2011 jeep overland with a leak in the air suspension. I wiggled some lines and found the hissing problem. tried the dealer and they had the complete front two lines for about $100. i didn't want to dig into all that so... I watched a couple of these video's and i remember your video was one of them. yep, that's all i did was order a elbow for the driver side and poof...fixed. first i tried cleaning it and lubricate the o rings, made it leak worse so i parked it for a week till the part came in. I didn't want to burn out the pump is why i waited. thank you for posting. Tim

    Quoted $9k from local dealership to replace the system. Ridiculous. After I prodded they said they could cancel the system out for about half. Found your vid. Will give this a try. It does lift a little like you said, and got progressively worse, so hoping this is root cause. Rear is also starting to squat while off but it comes back up. In any case, thanks for taking the time to share this and especially the link to the part in the description is the cherry on top.

    We have a 2012 Overland and we’ve had our system replaced three times under warranty. Thank God we bought the extended warranty which is no longer available, unlimited time unlimited mileage so it cost us $100 each time but I believe this system is about 3500 bucks, so Chrysler is out 10 grand just on this part of the car alone in addition over the last 12 years of ownership Chrysler has probably spent close to $30,000 on this vehicle. We are finally getting so tired of it. We are looking at something else, and it will not be a Chrysler product.

    My question is, is this a real issue to be worried of? I mean if the compressor works fine and it goes back up to its normal position when you turn it on it means it is working I guess?

    • @ZPTVChannel
      @ZPTVChannel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It will add unnecessary stress to the compressor and will cause it to fail a lot sooner. Also in the colder months the lines will freeze and you’ll have to wait for them to unfreeze before you can drive because the suspension will be bottomed out.

The car eventually lowered itself but it cant lift to the normal driving suspension. Will what you did in this video fix my problem? Are there those type of valve devices in the back of the car?

    • @ZPTVChannel
      @ZPTVChannel  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure if it will fix your issue but it does have the exact same fittings on the rear bags. They’re right behind the tire on the side of the air bag near the top you can miss it with the wheel off!

  • @SRTDaDon24
    @SRTDaDon24 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Was the raise button flashing before you replaced that did it say immediately suspension service required or were you able to raise it and it just kept lowering?

    • @ZPTVChannel
      @ZPTVChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      It still raised and lowered perfect. There was no error lights or anything on. It was just leaking down after it sat for a while but I’m sure it’s because the leak wasn’t real bad. I’m sure if you have a real bad leak it would over work the compressor and probably throw an error of some kind.

    • @ZPTVChannel
      @ZPTVChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From everything I’ve read it says not to use Teflon tape because if and when it degrades it can send bits of Teflon through the system. As far as lube goes it probably wouldn’t hurt to put some kind of lubricant on it to help it seat during the installation but I doubt it would make it last any longer.

      There’s 2 o rings one at the bottom and one at the top right below the air fitting. The bottom doesn’t go bad very often but the top one is usually the one that lets go. I’m assuming just over time the o ring get old and crusty and allows air past.

    My English is not very good. But here is my question. I have a grand 2014 cherokee overland and the same thing happens. but he told me that I should check the automatic suspension quickly. So I took it to the dealer. Well, they changed the compressor and an air suspension on the driver's side, that was in January of this year. This week it went down again. Now I took her and they changed the passenger side. but he went to another place because the dealer gave me a bad experience because they had my car for 3 weeks. On the other hand, wherever I took it, in 2 days it was ready when the piece arrived. but they gave it to me and it says that I should take it to the dealer to reset the computer to read the new part. This is true?? Because the car is still down and on the dashboard it only shows off road 2 but it showed the same thing when we took it. And now I do not know what to do. Well, I've already set the normal mode but the lights keep blinking.
