Extremely underated car. We need less riced up civic and more alfa on the public road.

Back in the '70s, 'heroes' on our roads were the Berlinas/Giulias/124ST and from Japan, 1600SSS and RX3. All mechanics know Webers, Dell'Ortos and Mikunis well. Hottest tyres were Dunlop SP Sport and kalo ada duit, Pirelli CN36 or Michelin XWX.
2002Tii and GTV 105s were akin to the current M4 and Maser Granturismo status wise and preserve of the well heeled.
Ferraris and Porsches...they are around but akin to seeing a Carrera GT and Enzo on our roads. Very rare.

New exhaust ( fat pipes) new discs an pads. New suspension all roynd. Bit of welding. All done. Struggled a little on emmisions ( its a 2.4 l jtdm deisel turbo). Due to not being used for year and a half? New battery. Started first time! Every time. He loves the car now. Beautiful drive. 😮and still spotless interior. Timeless.

Overhaul the selespeed clutch probably is the most expensive, sin 1k+. The rest is just regular oil change, spark plugs, air filter.. That's all.. I fell in love with this car first time saw it on magazine way back in 2004 if im not mistaken. Same as the alfa 156, love at first sight. Now with a small family, i drove the new generation mazda skyactiv. Good design with sporty gearbox, and its like a poormans alfa but with a way better fuel efficiency n reliability, atleast thats the way i felt about it.

Should add a heat shield around the manifolds to prevent the heat coming into the cabin.. Lovely lovely car.. So unique.. It's a lovely car with a very simple design. No Bangle/Hoydoonk inspired flame surfacing. No sharp creases, only curves. Which makes it timeless. Abt the gearbox' upshift rearward and downshift forwards, another reason is this mimics a dog leg manual gearbox. Where 2nd is ahead of neutral, and 3rd is behind. Hence, forward to downshift and back to upshift.

that dogleg parallel, but it's forward to shift up to 4th from 3rd! so it doesn't really explains it.
the dogleg is more for racing and to avoid drivers mistakenly shifting into 1st, it is put to the side.

U can see how much people here appreciate its deisgn n rarity BUT again how many of us willing to choose the road less taken like the lady here.. Not many. . One might have rm50k fo spend for a car will simply settle down with national cars. Cnt blame them for being boring, scary cats n etc just because they drive myvi bezza n saga. the parts are not that expensive, but the main problem is with those mechanic who either wanted to cheat you or they really lack of experiences. You have to change unnecessary parts in order to make it right. change absorber only cost rm 1100 one set but problem didnt solved, later change lower arm and tie rod end again cost rm 1000 .
