luckyday465768 he's a complete narcissist and a sore loser. You can tell when you see the way he talks to batman through all the challenges and the modern batman games. He's just one of those smart people in real life or like those people in those popular quiz game shows who make it the end of the world if they lose just once or get outsmarted and they treat everyone who isn't them as inferior and dumb. Congrats catwoman you were able to follow simple instructions! Such a condescending ass.
I love how everyone in the comments are like "OMG the Riddler is so annoying he pisses me off so much" But see that's the point of his personality and character. He is there specifically to boast about just how much of an intellectual genius he is to you and how superior he is in every way. He's supposed to piss you off and annoy you as a way of a mental distraction. Because when you get pissed off, you lose focus and lose your sense of concentration and when you tend to lose those things, it results in you failing oh so quickly. That's what makes defeating him in the end oh so satisfying because you can stick it to him that you endured his challenges, endured his insults and overcame his attempts to distract you in anger and if you're never really able to defeat his side missions, then you pretty much proved his point that he is quite the superior intellectual in comparison to the player. In a way it's like a mental endurance roller coaster and we're in it for the long ride.
***** Well that's part of his psychotic personality. It's that mind-set that made him a villain in the first place. No matter what, he will always have that psychological thought process that he is better than his enemy always believing he/she cheated in some way shape or form. Remember how in one of his patient interviews, he had revealed that he had been abused by his father and was accused of cheating by him on multiple occasions? Well that thought process caused him to believe there was always an excuse for how people had bested him. If he simply admitted defeat, that would take away from his overall personality. It's an annoying personality to most. But it's one he's been best known for.
+anthonydeadman when i started playing these games, I was kind of sad at some of the main villains. Besides joker, the bigger, better known villains like Penguin and Two Face seemed kind of bland. Only the smaller ones grabbed my attention, like Zsasz and Mad Hatter. But Riddler is an interesting case in this game. He was kind of a mystery in the first game, and nothing special. But Arkham City and Arkham Knight is when he's at his best. Batman claims that "he pulled through without losing his mind", but that's just the game. In real life, the player is pulling out the bits of their hair left. Why do you think there are tutorials on every riddle troops and challenge? Riddler has us all fooled. He is smarter than us.
"if you're never really able to defeat his side missions, then you pretty much proved his point that he is quite the superior intellectual in comparison to the player." Lmao.
I just ignored him after I freed Selina. He basically imprisoned himself in that box. And what worse insult for a narcissistic, ego maniac like him, than to be ignored?
Wow. The only ACTUAL boss fight in the entire game and it's a side mission, The Riddler no less. Fucking bullshit. Arkham City had AMAZING boss fights, why the fuck aren't there ANY real bosses in Arkham Knight?
PHILL SHIVELY Yeah, origins was very glitchy but the deathstroke bossfight is so much better than the one here, also their deadshot bossfight was more entertaining than the one in arkham city.
TylerTheDefiler While I agree that Knight's boss fights were extremely underwhelming, City's weren't exactly "amazing" as you say. The Mr. Freeze fight was awesome and by far my favorite boss in the series, but the rest were pretty shit.
Lets take a minute of respect for the guy that actually had enough patience, time, and...well...not being lazy enough, to actually collect all riddler trophies
I refused to give Nigma any munition to say I cheated so I just did then legit, honestly the most trickiest ones were the location riddles up until I learned how to actually search for them lol
Wow batman's a jerk to cat woman in this one. At least they kissed but it's not like it hasn't happened before. They could have at least put some good emotion in their parting because he does like her and he admits to it several times like in beyond.
jake blair Just what I was saying on someone else's video. She asked does he ever take the suit off, I'd said something witty to her or just got down to unzipping the leather catsuit and the rest is history.
Definitely my favourite boss fight in the game, even with collecting all the trophies it paid out really well in the end. The scene with Bruce and Selina was also heartwarming and a little sad, but a very good scene overall.
Riddler: "You cheated! You cheated! You- Me: "I just beat you fair and square, NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP BEFORE YOU FORCE ME TO CRASH THIS BATMOBILE INTO THE OCEAN!"
Gotta love human punch resistance in fiction. I mean, let's be honest: in real-life, a skinny nerd like Riddler would've gotten knocked out with 1 - 2 punches by a martial artist like Batman, ending the battle the first time the robot's shield is lowered. Then again, Batman and Catwoman should've broken their hands while fighting those robots. Actually, that makes Riddler's punch resistance even more ridiculous, since this implies that he is harder than metal. Seriously, LOL at him being able to take 20 punches or so before going down. He's tougher than real-life boxers and MMA fighters :P.
Ceasar it was destroyed in Arkham City. The game referenced her so much that if she was dead then she would have showed. All the references were joker talking about how he killed her
Whimsical Gaming Joker talked about how he killed Jason Todd but has admitted to being an obvious liar of almost every scenario he's been in. Tallia is dead but as far as we know the next company to take on Arkham have a chance to revive her.
I don’t care what anyone else thinks, this was the best boss battle in Arkham knight and one of my favorite boss battles in the series. Riddler was in all of the games but you don’t actually get to fight him until this one. You really have to work for it by getting all the riddles but it’s worth it in the end, his missions with catwoman were the best in the game. You get an emotional ending and a boss battle where it keeps you on your toes. Considering this was a game where boss battles were pretty “eh” at best, they put a great one in here. The best villains in this game were joker, scarecrow, and riddler.
You know, in my opinion, if Riddler received treatment for his compulsion for riddles, and was much less egotistical(the main issue ) , he probably could probably outsmart batman.
4 ปีที่แล้ว +1
reminds me of a comic book, "the riddle-less crimes of the riddler", where he actually tried to break his compulsion HIMSELF by reading a bunch of psychology books, and apparently succeeded...BUT he hadn't. he effectively sleep-walked his way through several riddles, allowing Batman to catch him IN THE ACT.
Old comment, but the reason why he’s egotistical and prideful is because he overestimates himself. His character is literally a case of someone who thinks he’s smarter than he really is. Therefore his fragile pride/ego being his downfall. His constant snarky attitude towards Batman is him coping with the fact that he’s at least not the only smart guy around. It’s a coping mechanism the egotistical behavior.
This is the most satisfying boss fight I've ever fought ever trying to collect all the god damn riddle diddle trophies I finally got to beat the ever loving shit out of The Riddler
I’ve never felt more satisfaction beating up a villain than the riddler in this game. I wish I could give him a broken bone for every riddle he made me find. And the funny part is, there are 243 riddles in this game, but only 206 bones in the human body to break.
Batman can't let feelings get in the way and he knows that whilst his enemies are out there, he can't be in a relationship with Catwoman. That's putting her in danger. He does have feelings for her but he knows if he starts a relationship with her, that's putting her life at stake.
***** Batman didn't give a single shit about Talia. He was like "we spent a night together... only... and you want to be my bae? fuck that Catwoman IS MAH BAE!"
LMAO at how Batman punches Riddler in the neck when he jumps onto the cockpit, it doesn't even look like he's really hitting him hard ('cuz Eddie's delicate, I guess).
It so so satisfying to beat the Riddler and solve his riddles in the Arkham games and he is one of my favorite Batman villains . Rocksteady did a great job with the Riddler
Here’s a tip for anyone stuck in the boss fight on knightmare mode (this is how I beat it). Just go around dodging every attack but attack at least once every now and then to build up your dual takedown metre. Just keep repeating that throughout the different waves and you should be able to beat him easily.
Yk it’s funny… as bloody as Riddler looks when he puts him in the car compared to when you finish the fight… It’s like Batman and Catwoman continued to trash him even after the fight 🤣
For those who didn't complete the riddles, the missions with the riddler was worth it! Not kidding. Wish it had some with normal gameplay to get the taste of how fun it was to others.
This game was massively hindered by the way they included the batmobile. They could of done something awesome, instead they shoved it down our throats in most of the missions. Nearly every "boss battle" was done inside of the batmobile, what makes it worse is after the first 10-15 minutes the batmobile combat becomes an extremely dull rinse and repeat. Shoot the light on the turrent for an instant kill, dodge a red line, shoot the light, dodge the line etc etc etc Deathstroke a tank battle, that is unforgiven. Even in the comics Batman rarely beats deathstroke, even with the assistance of robin & nightwing. They fucked that up completely and spat in the face of deathstrokes character. In my opinion the batmobile ruined what could of been the best batman game ever to be released, instead it sits above origins but below City & Asylum
Bryan Leong Getting all the upgrades made it worse for me, because the car became so overpowered it made every encounter as easy as breathing in and out.
McNab1986 Indeed. If you want a bigger challenge, I recommend starting on the Knightmare difficulty. No hints, faster enemy reaction times, and supposedly more enemies. I soon discovered that I was playing on the highest difficulty about halfway through New Game Plus, and I could not change the option. Despite this, at least you are given your upgrades. Other than that, I think the tank battles were very repetitive.
7:30 okay but what if Batman actually like hopped up on a ledge and did that? Would riddler still find some sort of excuse as to how he cheated or would he just be like "uh...I got nothing, good job Batman" ?
I was collecting these trophies before I fought the Riddler, and my little brother was watching me through the whole experience. At the end, I said “Ok, it’s time to kill riddler.” He was confused for a second and said “Wait, but Batman doesn’t kill?” and then we looked at each other and said at the same time *“We can make an exception.”* I hate you, riddler.
jozah mann I've 100% my first run before I activated knightfall. Going to leave it for abit then move onto my newgame+ run. Honestly the only time consuming part of this game was the collecting trophies, riddles and destructible objects.
Honestly, when Riddler said that I didn’t deserve to fight him until the trophies were found, I just said “yeah and you don’t deserve to waste my time” Another thought then came to me. If Riddler stays hidden in there then he won’t make any traps so Gotham is all good, and he like a lunatic will be waiting for me.
I'd say receiving a boss battle against the Riddler is a good enough incentive to collect all the trophies etc this time. It just felt like a waste of time and anti-climactic in previous games. Such as in Arkham City where all you get for your effort is knocking him out in one punch.
Finally, after at least 6 hours of grappling, researching, searching, driving, gliding, punching, kicking, remote-hacking, aiming, mind-screwing, replaying, racing, raging, and anticipating later, I FINALLY fought this mothertrucker at 12:30 2 nights ago.
Not gonna lie, besides the Catwoman part at the end, the Arkham City Riddler conclusion was infinitely more satisfying. Sure you had a big boss fight, and sure you threw him in Jail, but the boss fight was repetitive and in Prison he just stands there. In Arkham City, there was something SO much more satisfying knowing that Riddler was being forced to walk in an endless circle, lest his head explode, and it was doubly satisfying knowing that the helmet was defused and he was doing it for nothing. And even just the little things were more satisfying in City, he was so annoyed about losing that you could rightfully feel smug about beating him, and you could even walk in his way to freak him out, which was fun. In Arkham Knight, he just gloats about when he'll be released, and he doesn't seem to care that he lost so much. He actually seems to lose most of the hostility he had about losing throughout the game, which is odd.
I really feel for the fire chief, Batman locked him in the same cell as murderers and psychopaths and he was just trying to look out for his crew. Catwoman on the other hand states her intentions to rob the city blind right in front of Batman and he does nothing about it.....what a dickhead.
She was not serious you stupid or what. She knows this is not the night, besides she will be we Wayne enjoying their retirement in a few days so... Oh yeah and thd chief is the cause of deaths and release a fucking supervillain to burn his own city.
Selina's face in that game has to be the best face model I've ever seen in any game. I don't know why. But everytime I see her, I take a pause to look at her face. It just looks so pretty and real for a video game
I appreciate that but I'd rather have a few extra proper missions rather than flying around Gotham looking for green question marks, it gets tedious very fast.
I'm only spoiling this for myself since there is no way in hell I'm scouring the city for hundreds of trophy riddles just for the "privilege" of another spammy duel beat-em up boss fight with Catwoman while Riddler taunts be with his endless self-aggrandizing bravado.
You're right. This Batman is stuck with Talia even though she's desd. It's one of the reasons he's so distant in the game. In the GCPD room he even feels nostalgia as he sees her sword in the evidence room. The reason he kissed Selina was to make her feel good and express some feelings he used to have in the past. Other than that he loves Talia. And this Talia is not the crazy ass botch from the comics so.
Nick B. that's debatable. you can hear the emotion and pain in his voice in this scene. he doesn't want to say no to selina. he loves her. he would have been just as distant if it was selina that had died.
Even though the Azrael mission says he won't be Batman, doesn't that last part mean he will be? "A legend that can only rise from the ashes of Batman"? Isn't that part of Azrael's prophecy?
Azraels prophecy is a lie. In the side mission it is explained that he had a microchip placed in his brain to make him think that he is azrael. That's why in the side mission you have choose between his free will and the completion of his prophecy.
collecting all the riddler trophies and other suff was a royal pain at times and took a few days to do it. thank goodness for videos that all i can say. It was pretty damn satisfying when i finally got to fight the riddler head on and defeat him and lock him up with all the other thugs.
Hold on a minute, RIDDLER gets an actual in person boss fight but fucking DEATHSTROKE gets taken out with one punch?
The GodDamn Batman Whoops, meant to say Deathstroke, I'll fix that.
The Deathstroke fight was really disappointing
The GodDamn Batman I like how you call it a fight.

He's just one of those smart people in real life or like those people in those popular quiz game shows who make it the end of the world if they lose just once or get outsmarted and they treat everyone who isn't them as inferior and dumb.
Congrats catwoman you were able to follow simple instructions!
Such a condescending ass.
Seeing Batman and Catwoman kiss and punching the shit out of the Riddler made finding those 243 riddles completely worth it
I wanted to leave The Riddler alone with Pyg just to really freak him out haha
I prefer catwoman over talia
Daniel Martie Selina is a thief, but she isn't a assassin/terrorist like Talia.
Think we all prefer Selina over Talia.
So does Batman
Me too
Talia is more badass though.
Every time Batman talked like he was going to die made me depressed

Oh! Let him try to get into the drivers seat and then he’ll get electrocuted! 😃
I've defeated him in Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. But some of those Riddler trophies are damm near impossible to get!
Riddler took more punishment to take down than Deathstroke. It's the end of days I tell you.
Wow. The only ACTUAL boss fight in the entire game and it's a side mission, The Riddler no less. Fucking bullshit. Arkham City had AMAZING boss fights, why the fuck aren't there ANY real bosses in Arkham Knight?
Dialogue sucks as well
TylerTheDefiler Goliath boss fight was pretty cool
PHILL SHIVELY Yeah, origins was very glitchy but the deathstroke bossfight is so much better than the one here, also their deadshot bossfight was more entertaining than the one in arkham city.
PHILL SHIVELY Origins was way better than the critics claim.
TylerTheDefiler While I agree that Knight's boss fights were extremely underwhelming, City's weren't exactly "amazing" as you say. The Mr. Freeze fight was awesome and by far my favorite boss in the series, but the rest were pretty shit.

Or he just made shit robots.

Me: HAVE SEX!!!
You know, in my opinion, if Riddler received treatment for his compulsion for riddles, and was much less egotistical(the main issue ) , he probably could probably outsmart batman.
reminds me of a comic book, "the riddle-less crimes of the riddler", where he actually tried to break his compulsion HIMSELF by reading a bunch of psychology books, and apparently succeeded...BUT he hadn't.
he effectively sleep-walked his way through several riddles, allowing Batman to catch him IN THE ACT.
Riddler was only one boss that actually satisfying in this game.
There is also pyg and croc
I JUST DIED TBH THEY KISSED THEY ACTUALLY KISSED
Jessica Jones They have done that plenty of times before, I mean not in the Arkham games, but comics, movies, cartoons, it's really nothing new :/
Redgrave192 yeah i'm well aware of this, still doesn't mean it isn't amazing to see them kiss in an arkham game

Jessica Jones Actually it means just that.
Jessica Jones They actually have sex in the comics, to hell huntress was their child at first.

" I could have brought me here twice as quickly ", seems like he did not get enough "bats" from batman.
I’ve never felt more satisfaction beating up a villain than the riddler in this game. I wish I could give him a broken bone for every riddle he made me find. And the funny part is, there are 243 riddles in this game, but only 206 bones in the human body to break.
One choice, break bones multiple times.
If they let us do that, he would be jello by the time I was done with him
Never done this boss. Still refuse to do all those riddles. At least in Arkham city you didn't have to do all of them
That's if you had the Catwoman DLC.

Is it so much to ask for Batman to give in to his emotions and be with Catwoman?
Batman can't let feelings get in the way and he knows that whilst his enemies are out there, he can't be in a relationship with Catwoman. That's putting her in danger. He does have feelings for her but he knows if he starts a relationship with her, that's putting her life at stake.
Given that he would blow himself up later that night, you'd think he would be ready to have at least a brief relationship.

That last cutscene was probably Conroy's best 'emotional' scene.
Here’s a tip for anyone stuck in the boss fight on knightmare mode (this is how I beat it).
Just go around dodging every attack but attack at least once every now and then to build up your dual takedown metre. Just keep repeating that throughout the different waves and you should be able to beat him easily.
Wally Wingert’s riddler voice is great
Batman: Yaaaaay I got all these fuckin riddles done!
Riddler: Riddle me this…. HOW THE F**K DID YOU SOLVE 243 RIDDLES IN ONE NIGHT?!!

It’s like Batman and Catwoman continued to trash him even after the fight 🤣
Funny how the game that everyone said was disappointing has the most satisfying riddler side mission

+Leann Cordle I was thinking the say thing
This game was massively hindered by the way they included the batmobile. They could of done something awesome, instead they shoved it down our throats in most of the missions.
Nearly every "boss battle" was done inside of the batmobile, what makes it worse is after the first 10-15 minutes the batmobile combat becomes an extremely dull rinse and repeat. Shoot the light on the turrent for an instant kill, dodge a red line, shoot the light, dodge the line etc etc etc
Deathstroke a tank battle, that is unforgiven.
I like the Batmobile, gives the game variety, especially after you get all the upgrades, and car chases always put me on the edge of my seat.

I'm giving it a short break before my newgame plus run, as the grind for the trophies etc was a ball ache.
Exactly my thoughts batmobile is so forced lol i wanna play a batman game not a fucking car fighting game its so fucked up

At the end, I said “Ok, it’s time to kill riddler.” He was confused for a second and said “Wait, but Batman doesn’t kill?” and then we looked at each other and said at the same time
*“We can make an exception.”*

Honestly the only time consuming part of this game was the collecting trophies, riddles and destructible objects.
Dmn, Batman is out here making CATWOMAN look like a simp lmao
Honestly, when Riddler said that I didn’t deserve to fight him until the trophies were found, I just said “yeah and you don’t deserve to waste my time” Another thought then came to me. If Riddler stays hidden in there then he won’t make any traps so Gotham is all good, and he like a lunatic will be waiting for me.
But he has a Nintendo switch and Spotify Premium I think he can just wait for you
I'd say receiving a boss battle against the Riddler is a good enough incentive to collect all the trophies etc this time. It just felt like a waste of time and anti-climactic in previous games. Such as in Arkham City where all you get for your effort is knocking him out in one punch.
Darkstar263 and in Arkham Asylum you don't even see him being arrested.
And in origins, you don't see him get his comeuppance at all!
Beating the riddler is so damn satisfying (in every arkham game especially in knight)

Yeah the fire chief should have just gotten his own Cell
Which makes him an accessory to what could’ve been attempted murder, so there’s that.

Selina's face in that game has to be the best face model I've ever seen in any game.

Such bullshit that you have to solve 243 riddles to fight him! It's not that they're hard, it's just who has the time for that?
It's better it makes the game last longer
I appreciate that but I'd rather have a few extra proper missions rather than flying around Gotham looking for green question marks, it gets tedious very fast.

I was hoping for Batman to take off the mask to kiss her, but is obvius this Batman loves Talia, not Selina.
tltar253 He loves them both, Talia died before she could go full crazy and drug his ass to make Damian in this universe though
Nick B. BatJokes 4 life
Talia can go screw herself batman and Catwomen forever!

The voice actor does him real justice
