- Welcome to my College Decisions Reaction Video for 2020. As an international student from India, the timings for these decisions are all over the place, but the emotional rollercoaster is still the same.
I know there are a lot of these but if you get bored within 30 seconds feel free to click off. Hope you don't though :)

@@deadly.desai2 True, but tbh they are both top tier colleges and pomona is better for undergrad because liberal art colleges focus more on undergrad teaching. Harvard is good for grad school.

Hey bro, Harvard '24 here from India too. They only accepted 4 of us from India this year so it was quite insane. I also got into Stanford and it's definitely an amazing school! Hopefully I can meet you one day if we ever get to campus!

Princeton’24 from India here-they’ve literally admitted 6 Indian students this year! Stanford rejected me, but I asked for aid so I saw that coming from a mile away lmao. Great video and congratulations on your amazing acceptances!

ive seen perfect american students get rejected from everything and ive been told international students are almost always rejects. this was funnily entertaining and empowering?
Most of the time, international applicants are rejected or accepted according to the amount of financial aid they need. If you do not apply for financial aid, it is quite likely that you will be accepted.

@@SacredAces it is true. Universities are businesses. Idk how it is in the US but in Aus they charge international students more for the same course and they have to pay upfront, so they often take international students of a lower ‘quality’ than the domestic students they take

@@MustachioIcecream very untrue. International acceptance rates at any school are always lower by a lot than that of domestic students. Even for full paying student. The average international acceptant is always stronger.. Also they are tons of full paying domestics students as well. The prices are the same for both.

maemi nah it’s always a mix of different kinds of parents - majority (I’m Indian) are very supporting and just want their children to have a good future, so they might be a little pushy. But they are just like every other mom and dad out there - loving and kind 🥺

I love how you AND your parents openly embraced the fact that some schools have different priorities and that getting rejected/waitlisted from a school doesn't make you any less of a person! Hello from NYC!! Congratulations!! This year, I applied to 5 schools, got rejected from 4 and am currently waitlisted at NYU. what you’re brother said at the end is helping me remember that while I should keep working towards my goals, I need to make sure I “enjoy life” no matter where I end up. I graduated from Yale more than 50 years ago. No longer working full time I am so bored I watch children applying to colleges. I will watch anything, videos on how trees communicate by roots underground, anything. This boy is the most entertaining, fun student of the 100 or so I have seen. Much better than underground root communications.
