(Audio very low this video) I first 'discovered' Stihl as a yard tools company perhaps 20yrs ago, & w/ only a single exception (details below), Stihl products have served me & my family very well. So, I own two Stihl FS56RC trimmers, the newer one w/ the '-E' designator, bought ~2yrs apart. When you've got a few acres to maintain, the work goes faster w/ two people trimming, hence second unit. Now, I don't abuse my tools, but I am hard on them at times. Maintenance is the absolute KEY to keeping things around & happily working - whether a marriage or a weed wacker, the same holds true. Don't neglect things & give them your best care, & they'll never let you down.
I realize I forgot to mention my one, single Stihl 'problem child'. It's a two-stroke rototiller, the walk behind kind. I want to love it because it does a nice job when it's running, but it is such a finicky little bitch about everything that it's often a 15 or 20 minute exercise and frustration just to get it fired up every spring
We see that as a problem child often times. Usually it’s because it gets so little use. Have you tried using Moto mix in that unit all the time?
Speed feed is the best head on the market for a trimmer
How about the 525iB Mark 2?
That is a smooth, running blower. Great for professional use.
@carlsmowerandsaw I just now got into the battery game with a 525iLST. It's a beast 💪. I still like gas best but these battery units are definitely pulling their weight.

Canada no longer has ethanol free gas, 10% ethanol. Is this still a good choice ? What happens with 10% ethanol gas ?
10% causes plenty of problems. Buy small amounts. Go through it fast. And moto-mix in the slow seasons
Can you use a wrench t get the black piece to unscrew?
Once you unscrew the middle part of the bump knob, the whole head should pull straight off

I would say if you haven’t purchased yet that you go with a Kombi set up. It is quicker and easier to swap attachments.
huh, learned something new today. I been kickin around the idea of getting a stihl kombi or not, but now that I know I can run the stuff on my 91R without having to buy the Kombi head with just a few extra mins of fiddlin im a happy camper.
And when the time comes to replace you can get a Kombi

Why do I feel like my Ms180 has return to run?
Click the trigger and it pops off the start position to run. But it doesn’t return from stop to run.

I’m curious to know if this is just as good for regular trimming and not just heavy brush. I’m sure it can handle heavy vegetation and brush very well but how about regular trimming work. I know it’s heavier than a lot of regular trimmers but weight aside.
It's good. But think of it as driving a big diesel 4x4 in NYC traffic. Might not be enjoyable

I reviewed and it seemed fine.
Just bought one of these yesterday. So far, i really like it. Main thing ive noticed in the first day of having it is its definitely a lit more powerful than my last trimmer, and the fuel efficiency is just awesome. I ran the trimmer around my moms property which is roughly an acre. I also trimmed around her home, porches, and carport then hit a few spots that i couldn't get to woth the mower. Afterwards, when i came home, i ran it around my home and my yard and all on one tank of fuel. My old trimmer would've gone thru 3-4 tanks of fuel doing the same work.

Do you recommend this version for private use or the 522iHDR? My hedge has lots of thicker branches - the 522iHDR is especially for that use case but much more expensive and recommended for professional use. Thanks in advance!

This mower should allow you to string trim, edge, or mow the tight areas while it does its work.

I love all still product but for trimmers even know I got a km131r with trimmer and edger attachment but for trimmers my go to is my favorite a shindaiwa M262 with trimmer and edger attachment
