      I don't understand these modes at all. Add multiply divide. All I know is they give different results. It's be very helpful if you could make a video on this topic. Cause there are a lot of newbies who didn't work with photos hop or other similar software including me. Please

    Can anyone please direct me to a page or video where i can learn more in depth about making my own design for the can? He touches briely on it in the video but im still having a hard time understanding it and making my own im trying to google it but im not really finding anything.

    Hi, I am facing issue while wrapping the png around the Text body. 1/3 of the can is not filled by the png. Kindly help!

      It's probably because of the subdivision. Did you try shift-E to crease the edges? Or Apply the modifier and unwrap again?

    Stuck at 5:01 For some reason the part of the can called text body does not look like a rectangle like yours, rather some crazy shape. I cannot figure out how I keep selecting the wrong parts of the model and upon playing with it I made it worse and now I can't even see the png image I uploaded on the can, please help, thanks!

      It should be UV unwrapped properly. If the shape of the mesh is a face (a rectangular shape), then the UV unwrapped part should be a rectangle as well. If you get a weird shape, did you at the same at the correct position and unwrapped it? It should work out then. If not, let me know

    Hi, when i use the subdivision surface modifier my can label gets restricted to the middle of the can. when i remove the modifier, the label stretches up to cover the sides correctly. have assigned the aluminium material to the top and the bottom there is no problem here. it's only with the label. I tried to not use the modifier but this gives me angles on the models itself and it's not smooth and round. Anyone have any answers on how this can be fixed? It's like the modifier is restricting the label to be wrapped around only the mid part of the can leaving some space at the top and at the bottom!!

      Select one of the lower edges holding alt and press shift-E to crease those. This should place 'stretch' the texture back in place. Do the same for the top. If you truly can't get it to work like that. Applz the subdivision and unwrap. You'll get a new set of UV's to place correctly. Hope this helps!🙌🏻

      @@theblenderender hey thanks for the help. this crease did not work. and the subdiv mod was still giving an issue so i added an edge split before it and then applied both, then deleted pre-existing UV map and imported my own label and then some image transforms (flipping it about) and some changes in the position node, and some further trial and error have managed to get this right! many thanks for the response though :)

      In Davinci Resolve. In the new course I touch upon this more, but it might not be completely beginnerfriendly

    i have two problems, maybe you can help me :)
    1. when selecting my text body, it also shows a circle next to my rectangle in the uv editor
    2. when switching from edit mode to object mode, all my textures jump up a bit and the bottom part gets distorted. i alligned everything correctly in the uv editor in edit mode but then i change to object mode and the distortion happens.

      Yes the circle is probably from another part of the mesh. Did you seperate both the materials as shown in the video? Also, did you mark the seam correctly. This could cause that problem. I hope that by doing either of these two things, the problem will be solved.
      2. Hmm the problem could be because of the subdivision surface modifier. You could either apply the subdiv, or select the circular edge and press Shift-E to sharpen the edge. This should unstretch the texture. Let me know if your problems are solved.

      @@theblenderender yes, the materials are seperated. i think the ring i mentioned comes from the thin ring of faces just below the text body below the edge (i think i accidentaly assigned the thin ring as well when first assigning the faces to the material). i tried reassigning the textbody material to the middle part of the can correctly and unwrapping it again, but when i then select the text body material, it has all the same faces selected as before. is it even possible to change the assigned faces of a material? because i tried it multiple times now to reassigne it but it always stays the original way. thanks for the help:)

      also i just realized the distortion in the lower part is also visible in edit mode, not just only in object mode, when the subdivision modifier is made visible in the viewport. i just had it turned off to see my mesh better.
