one of the best videos on you tube-regardless of the topic. you presented the procedure in orderly sequence of steps which make sense. Just watching it, and reading a comment from one of the viewers who said he had 2 lights on the dashboard (brake system and ABS-exactly what I have in my car) I have a sensation , I found the solution I was looking for . And even if not, still a great video.
Wish I had seen this video sooner. Was having ABS/Traction Control lights coming on. The speed sensor was not the issue. Instead it was the sensor ring on the axle; it was cracked. But I thought the sensor ring was part of the wheel bearing as I kept seeing in other videos. I'm glad the mechanic found this out and didn't just replace the wheel bearing!
@@helpinguonline Can I ask why you were so reserved with the compressed air on the tone ring cleanup and didn't blast it with a much higher volume/psi of air?
Greetings from Ireland!! Great video. My ABS and traction light plus check brake system light has been interrmittent for past four years. Think its the wheel sensor
Wow, very informative video. What if all you needed was a cleaning and the sensor wasn’t messed up. Those things are expensive. Specially the OEMs they’re like 200+ dollars you can get some aftermarket ones for a light 80 bucks.
Thanks! I had a abs error on a GX110. The sensor show signs of physical damage. Changed it, cleared the code, but the pedal still pulsed at slow braking. Did this cleaning and voila!
I understand removing the metal shavings, and all, but if the shavings are the culprit, then it (logically) would mean that the sensor is still good, right? And, once cleaned of the shavings, should work properly, right? Did you check the old sensor, then? What if it was OK?
I will try your method. I happen to see my car turn its ABS wheel sensor light when the engine is on and lost the light when it is moving some 10 meters away..i have tried everything but not this one..thanks for inspiring people who is like me who loves fixing a car DIY...thanks man..
I hope you are doing very well I have issues with abs speed sensor when I took outbthe old one it was shaving metal on but I didn't clean the ring unfortunately it was very good for around 60 minutes but agin shows the code do you think if I clean the ring it going to be fine many thanks?
I am going to check the cable going to the sensor first for resistance ohms. Then if good wires, clean the pocket like you did. Before I spring for a cable and sensor.
Thanks I am not getting a good connection intermittent I will try cleaning the teeth to see if that works. I took it apart and couldn’t spin the teeth. I now see how to clean them. The one spot I cleaned was very dirty. And again thanks for your help
why does it look like the sensor was touching against the sensor wheel or gear teeth? thats normal? and also if you wasnt going to change the sensor, can you clean them with brake fluid and towel as well?
I can believe that. As stuck as mine was, found my way here to see if a glue or silicone-type sealant was needed for the replacement to keep dirt and water out. So far it seems to be a no.
thanks. I have broke tire an then use my sienna by 5 block to get my house an brocke de abs wheel speed sensor l get the estimate by 710.27 dollar . only the sensor 389.99 labor 107.80 an sometime more. total 710.27 with this video l can do my self . thanks

Far better than the other videos I watched. Thank you for your auto service!! 😅
I appreciate that!
lotta people leave out what they did and only explain bits and pieces
Thank you so much for the help. I had 2 lights on the dashboard (brake system and ABS), now I solved the issue.
Glad it helped
did the lights disappear after cleaning the wheel sensor ring?
Best video on this topic so far. Great stuff.
Really appreciate the time stamps

Great video. Typically Toyota ABS error codes are hard to read. Which tool did you use?
Cleaning part is excellent though whole video is appreciated! Can't the harness have been spliced near the wheel?

Great Job!!!

Wow can’t wait to see your process for an oil change
I am trying to locate an ABS Wheel Sensor of my car, the car in your video looks similar to mine, is it 2006 Toyota Avalon? Thank you.
Great video with best tips. Everyone just say replace wheel sensor.
Glad it helped

Neat and clean explainations
Save alot of rhe money thanks very much my friends
Can we use petrol instead of brake cleaner jus curious

Possibly or you may have another issue. It doesn’t cost anything to clean the rain so it is worth a try before you dig deeper
Can abs sensor cause issues with the tpms?
I am going to check the cable going to the sensor first for resistance ohms. Then if good wires, clean the pocket like you did. Before I spring for a cable and sensor.
Did that work or did you need a new sensor?
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Just because the code says it's a sensor failure. You may first clean the dirty tip. Once cleaned the sensor might function
I was gonna try that tomorrow lol probably buy the sensor anyway tho
Lucky. Mine is a magnetic strip in the bearing. Impossible to get to without taking the hub assembly out
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing!

Hello Michael, did that work? Thanks G
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

I would use electrical cleaner on the sensor rather than brake cleaner, as it can damage it.
There is a very small gap but there is a gap.
Personally I wouldnt use any type of brake cleaner or anything that dissolves grease inside a wheel bearing
Thank you very much! Very good !!
Glad it helped
Very good
Good job
Thanks
I think everyone I ever changed was from the factory and they usually break as i think they glue em in at the factory😮
I can believe that. As stuck as mine was, found my way here to see if a glue or silicone-type sealant was needed for the replacement to keep dirt and water out. So far it seems to be a no.
What do u spray in there to clean in side
Brake parts cleaner
God Bless your soul ❤❤❤❤
cheers marra
Thanks mate
Can a bad tone ring somehow cause a rough idle when weather is 85-90°
tone ring for ABS and nothing to do with idle.
How old are you spark plugs and spark plug wires?
thanks. I have broke tire an then use my sienna by 5 block to get my house an brocke de abs wheel speed sensor
