@@pauls3555 It's probably not that. Here in Portugal the state entity responsible for heritage works very badly. Unfortunately, many times nobody claims their inheritance because they don't know that they have to claim it. Usually only the children claim the inheritance and when they are a relatively close family. If, by chance, the inheritance has to go to a brother, cousin, nephew, bastard child or someone who is emigrating etc. who does not have much contact, there is not much interest in informing/discovering who the inherited property belongs to and the state does not bother to take care of this unclaimed property.

@7 Haunted Days um we feel the same irritation when the souls that are filled with too much hate or that are blinded by their own pain think that only THEY have the right to not believe & that nobody else has their right TO BELIEVE🤦‍♀️ The simple fact that you commented says a lot. Other non believers respects others veiws just as they have their own. But not you.Maybe your soul is starving. I know for 100% for a fact that theres a God. I was left for dead when I was 17 years old. I pray that you dont have to be fighting for your life & dying in order to see the truth. I hope that your heart & souls is filled with love & kindness,And that it finds what it seeks. I will say this, once you open the door and let God into your life..it will never be the same. And neither will you. If you choose to not open the door..atleast dont try to shut someone elses. You have the right to deny just as we have the right to accept. Learn respect & compassion. It feels better to be kind than angry or mean. Your life is what you make it. You can let the darkness in or the light. You could go into the worlds darkest of caves and light 1 small match and that little light will over come the darkness..but the darkness will NEVER be able to overcome the light & put it out. Whatever u do..I hope that your journey is a good one. Stay safe♡

The “outside ,inside kitchen” is a smokehouse. Used to hang meat from the rafters
and the large fireplace was the fuel to smoke and cure the meats.
Also, if the story is true about the young newlyweds, they probably were living with his parents. Which would explain the older furnishings and decor along with the older style ladies clothing in the bedroom which many medications were discovered in the chest of drawers.
Final conclusion, 3 generations living together with a small business where smoked meats may have played a part.😊

The cabinet with the mesh doors, is similar to ones here in the UK and were used to keep items like cheese, bacon, milk and butter cooler, by letting airflow through the mesh. They also often have a shelve of marble that also kept things cooler, the mesh also kept insects from getting into the food.

I remember when I was a child going to my great-grandparents' house in West Virginia. It was left to my grandparents who would take us up there in the summer. Everything was sooooo old inside. A player piano, some really old antiques, I even remember some old Will Rogers coins everywhere. Saddest part about it was that my grandparents donated it to the church with everything inside, and the church turned around and sold it and it was turned into a parking lot :(

You said that once you enter a property, you find artifacts which make you adapt the place's story and thus allow you to go deeper into the story.
You're video's are good, but, IMO, a bit more backstory or an update on this at the end would really enhance them.
Best wishes to you both 😀

As someone said below, the cabinet with the mesh doors is for food storage. Air circulation was good and it kept rats and mice out of the goodies. In the old days, they also had cabinets that had mesh on the bottom over a hole dug into the ground. This added cold air from the basement to help keep items from spoiling! They really knew how to work with what they had. Thank you for the good tour.

Such a tragic abrupt ending! We come here empty handed, leave everything behind and depart empty handed..there are so many such tragic incidents..if I wanna think it little bit differently, there's something positive, their souls departed together..their love must be true and pure..I'm not sure about marriage, but if I get married, I'd love to die in my hubby's arm..or at least before him..I can't see him go before me..in that sense they were very lucky..And here's someone after so many years to tell their story..it's like tribute to them with deepest respect..another incredible journey..👍👍👍👍..🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hi Lesley and Jordy, Bros of Decay, my dearest friends, that was once more again an amazing explore video from Portugal. I enjoyed
every second of your video! Very interesting to see so much still very beautiful antique furniture in that mansion! - Even behind all the decay
and the very derelict state of the interior, there was still a wide amount of beauty to see in your video. - Of course I also enjoyed very much
the funny effect, when you were switching to an other explore there with Danny. - Additionally I admired again your deep sensitivity and
empathy, when you were telling the background story of the former inhabitants. - Lovely to see, that you were there together with your
adorable brother Jordy, who was doing an excellent job with the camera.
The location seemed somehow familiar to me. - I think your friend Maureno was there also together with Danny. Could this be the case?
Thank you so much for sharing once more such an amazing explore adventure, I really appreciate a lot! - Stay safe, peace and much love
from Switzerland. - Lots of blessings, my dear friend, and kindest regards. - Greetings also to Jordy!

I was married in 2000. You mentioned 2003 being the last time they lived there. My wedding photos are most definitely in colour and modern. The photo in that house, on that wall is likely 1900’s. Not 2000’s. The furniture and home is old; yes, but the wedding dress hanging there isn’t. Maybe someone hung it there in memory of the story. A dress hanging for years would have turned yellow even over a short amount of years, not to mention moths eating away at it. A Visa? That’s
also modern. Not sure what the true history here really is? I’m guessing they died old.

I also have great respect and love for times gone by. As a matter of fact I am a retired geriatric nurse and have learned a great deal of history from time spent with my elders😊! when you are in a place that has a water leak you might want to look around the outside for a main water valve, all buildings with indoor plumbing need to have a valve in order to shut the water off to make repairs. Story of this couple doesn't all match up, does it? A children's bedroom? A recently married couple? And the portrait pictures on the wall belong to an earlier generation. Almost looks as if a younger couple was living with parents, or had inherited the house. They didn't look to be particularly well off, even allowing for some ransacking and looting over the years. And all that medication? Nah, the story's sketchy! Oh and that wire mesh fronted cabinet. Regardez the clues! A huge exhaust chimney and cooking facilities, racks for possibly hanging meat or fish.... means it's probably a 'meat safe', where foods were placed common before refrigeration was the norm, or where there's no power supply, to keep the flies off!

The 'photos look like the grandparents of the two that tragically were killed in an accident. The Portuguese people are a very suspicious race, even today and sometimes after a tragic death they like to leave everything in place and even believe that there would be bad spirits or ghosts in the house. This is why many houses are left in this condition all over Portugal. When I bought a house in Portugal, the table was laid for breakfast of the woman that died. Even her I.D. card and handbag and coat were on the back of a chair, as if she was just about to have breakfast and go out. Very strange!

I hate to tell you this but that house had a middle-aged to elderly person living there. Those medications are for a diabetic with glaucoma. The pictures are from the 60's-70's era as well as the clothes in the "woman's wardrobe" are for a more mature older woman. The wedding dress is more than likely from a daughter or grand-daughter as is the children's rooms etc. The story was probably something similar in that family that took place & was just embellished upon for a dramatic effect or just a typical " local legend" sort of thing.

Over here in America, if the place is left abandoned, you cannot take anything because it is considered robbing and you will be arrested. These homes, castles, etc. are so beautiful and I cannot understand why no children/relatives come in to clean them out. I wonder why they just leave everything behind?
