  • Ever tried to input a flight plan on your x-plane GPS unit? PAINFUL using the onscreen knobs and buttons. Where do you find the waypoints and airports along the way to your destination? Flight planning can be so confusing! In this video I show you how to plan a flight using actual flight planning tools, export the route, convert it to a format x-plane can read then load it into your GPS unit. You can use that flight plan over and over again once its in the folder in X-Plane.

MiniNavLog is your friend on SkyVector! Go to the little slider in the upper right corner of the flight plan window, slide it right, and there's the MiniNavLog. With it you can drop waypoints, or slide a line up or down to change the order in which the route goes. For example, you could push Pocatello and West Yellowstone around to fly to West Yellowstone before returning to Pocatello.

I might have missed how you convert the Skyvector flight plane to an fms plan that will work in Xplane. Sometimes I think is just easier to enter the flight plan manually. However, with the GNS 530, 430, it can be a tedious process. One point I'd like to make is how you can use "rubber banding" entering a plan. You enter your departure and your destination. It will show a straight line between them. You can click on the line and pull it wherever you wish and a window will open showing close by way points. You just click on the ones you want and the waypoints are automatically entered.

The PC12 is a 5 million $ a turboprop single engine. With time it is an easy aircraft to fly. You get up to 30000 feet.. Try and enjoy.

Your transponder should always be 1200 until you are given a clearance with a squack code
