The red Chrysler was waiting for the suspect under the bridge...another news channel had a good angle under the bridge when he got off the challenger into the red Chrysler.

A month or two ago, I saw a video of police attempting to catch a stolen Challenger Hellcat out of Houston, TX. On the open Interstate, it got up to almost 160. It was actually outrunning the chopper! It got so far ahead, that it was nothing but a blurry dot in the distance. It was at-most a minute or two away from losing the chopper altogether---when it ran out of gas.
I remember that video... That happened a few years back... The Challenger ran out of gas, and the driver ran into the trees and thick brush to the right of the freeway, and it took a few more minutes before the news chopper spotted him hiding and notified the Sheriff's Dept. deputies as to his location, whom converged and promptly arrested him...
From the Dodge Challenger to a Chrysler 300. Why was there doubt or confusion over the whereabouts of the getaway driver? Because, the cops didn't keep up with the suspect. You'd hope they learn from their past mistakes and don't let things get more complicated than it needs to be.
The chopper is not to blame. The error was the Brass deciding to not follow the suspect with a squad car. The switcheroo took place about 13 miles from LAX. If Slauson Ave. & the 110 Fwy is in the flight path for LAX, all the more reason to have had a cop car following.@@Jortdf534

jillionairess: That's awesome! I worked DTLA for the LAPD for 26 years. When I first arrived in 1996 I just used old fashioned rote memory, going through my street guide and repeating over and over, Main, Spring, Broadway, Hill, Olive, etc... Here's something for you. To know what side of the street a street number is on, we used SEE and NOW, south east even, north odd west. Since the numbered streets are E/W streets 201 W 2nd street, 201 being odd would be on the north side of the street. Named streets are N/S streets so 201 S Olive St would be on the west side of the street. Main St is the E/W dividing line so 201 W 2nd St is West of Main. Main to Spring is the 100 W block so 201 would be the start of the 2nd street which is Spring so it's the N/E corner of 2nd and Spring. I know, TMI...LOL.
