I don't know if its obvious...but why did he cut her hair? I was a little bit confused about that (This is one of my favourite dramas by the way).
In that era, in China and most likely Joseon, hair was a symbol of women's honor. Shorter hair equals shame. Dong Mae cut Ae Shin's hair to stop her from being a rebel since that act could kill her. Dong Mae wants Ae-shin to be alive and safe :')
