From their very first scene together in episode 2, I ship them already. I saw how Yang Hwa looked at Dong Mae and I realized that she was in love with him. Too bad Dong Mae was so into Ae Sin that he did not notice Yang Hwa who was with him from the start and waited for him to come back. But I still love their relationship. At least it was always shown how Dong Mae cared for Yang Hwa although it wasn't in a romantic way.
It happened the same with me! I just loved both characters and they had so much potential together! When she tells him not to die before her, I kinda of realized something would happen, but I never actually though that she would be the one dying first. (and on his back 😢)

I saw a comment on Reddit: maybe Gu Dong Mae was just in love with the idea of being in love with Ae Sin. What if he’s just in love with that familiarity. I get that Ae Sin showed him kindness at his worst time but what if that’s not necessarily a romantic kind of love? And that’s the reason why he didn’t realize his romantic kind of love to Yang Hwa Lol why am i so invested in this 🤣🤣🤣

Yang hwa was at first in love with eugene choi. Later she developed feelings for go dongmae.
