I have two episodes left to watch and I can only say that this has been a really good series on many levels. Captain Eugene Choi is (in my opinion) the one of the best Kdrama characters ever. While this series if filled with sadness and tragedy, it tells us a powerful story of how an aggressive and ruthless Japan started on it expansion that would be characterized by brutality and ruin, and in such a historical context, it would be hard to make smiley faces out of great struggles. The story is well told with plenty of intrigue and great characters, and every episode takes you somewhere that is important either to tie off a thread or weave in a new one. Great storytelling is the real secret ingredient here, and it is a show that I highly recommend.

This drama was a 10 out of 10 for me. Loved the writing, the characters, the cinematography, the acting....everything was so good.
