- Here I will show you how to get the minecraft/portal ending.
The Stanley Parable is a first person exploration game. You will play as Stanley, and you will not play as Stanley. You will follow a story, you will not follow a story. You will have a choice, you will have no choice. The game will end, the game will never end. Contradiction follows contradiction, the rules of how games should work are broken, then broken again. This world was not made for you to understand.
But as you explore, slowly, meaning begins to arise, the paradoxes might start to make sense, perhaps you are powerful after all. The game is not here to fight you; it is inviting you to dance.

I think the most chilling part of this ending is the fact that the game doesn't end until you've left the original office...

@@TheBlackBoxWarrior65 lol can't believe I remember, but the fact you have to navigate all the way to that office... It seems like it'd be where the game cuts to black, but it's not. You linger there, see the details, then eventually leave to find whatever the "real" way out it. Only to suddenly cut to black, now knowing that there isn't one. The real office was a false hope, and you're now wandering this wasteland for an eternity.

Kinda sad that Minecraft and Portal replaced with Firewatch and Rocket League
Those were probably the most popular games back then. Plus, im sure they are friends with the people who made firewatch

Portal made a lot of sense because The Stanley Parable was LITERALLY a Portal mod. Maybe Rocket League and TSPUD are made in the same engine as well?

Same here. I hadn’t played either game. But I did play MC and portal
I like that it's new and different, personally. Minecraft looks a lot less shitty now anyway, and "make dirt house" as a gag made a lot more sense when there was much less to do and what fewer blocks to build with. Plus the way you get to the old mod stuff just makes a lot more sense with Rocket League. I also find the dialogue in the new version a lot snappier
This feels like the canonical ending to the game
most people are here to see the og minecraft/portal sections and yet, the most watched part of the video is the baby burning, even if it's still in the game with the original dialogue; stanley parable fans stay consistent

I got a stupid smile on my face when I heard the radio
i downloaded a mod that let's you make stuctures that you can then generate in your world (recurrent complex) and made the dirt hut one of the buildings, so now there is a very rare occurring dirt hut with a sign saying "yes this is an stanley parable reference"
It's sad because I would've adored this more than Firewatch and Rocket League
I'm beginning to think the Narrator to be the being of the "games" themselves. Stanley represents us the players, and the narrator is the "games". Like the concept of games itself

Honestly, I love the Narrator's rant in this version much more than in Ultra Deluxe. Here he sounds much more malicious, still mocking you for only pushing buttons like in the apartment ending. But in UD he was more like a kid arguing "NO, MY GAME, MY RULES. I'MA LEAVE. No, wait, where are you going-"
I think that over time the Narrator became more a victim than a malicious entity

it got replaced by rocket league and firewatch, instead of dropping into the portal elevator, you drop into the goal area, rest is the same
