When i went back to get a shot, i used one nearby the original filming time. I accidently used one from after the nether since the base looked so similar but the generator was built post the nether even thought he replay shot was used before i went.

Walking into the video, I was convinced this challenge was completely impossible since there were no structures, im extremely surprised on how he figured it out

Don't get me wrong, all the things before getting to the nether were really interesting and really well done. But then, he cheated by basically disabling superflat. If the video only contained the part before the nether and had a title like "The limits of pure superflat" or something, then it would be a great video. But now, because he cheated and clickbaited, I can't do anything other than giving it a dislike.

The save was made in super flat and ended in super flat and the only code changed was to change versions. It technically stayed in super flat. Good point though

if you think the changing version think was cheeky, but somehow the stuff before it was amazing, i don't think you understand the changing version thing. if he came up with that idea, that is 10 tiems more impressive than all the stuff before. all the stuff before is relatively easy to come up with if you've played the game a lot (much less playing it for a living) changing the version and being able to bring the end portal items and nether into a 1.19 sueprflat world would ahve requierd tons of testing, research, and knowledge of the previous versions of the game. if he didn't come up with it and he just got it off of someone else, then props to whoever came up with it.

the video being entertaining means more to me than him actually completing the challenge I feel like people forget the video is based around the question “can you beat Minecraft in a flat world” there was no Guarantee he was going to do it. He’s testing to see if it’s true or not, and it happens to not be true; I don’t think it matters that much that he has to use a different version it was obvious from the start you couldn’t “beat” a flat world because of its lack of resources; it’s just more curiosity about how he was able to bypass beating Minecraft in a flat world regardless if you interpreted it as “beating” it or not

Except he verifiably faked the void video though. The wandering-trader farm he used in that video was tested and proven not to work. The wandering-traders aren’t transported by the water streams after they reach an unloaded chunk, so the next wandering-trader will be stopped from leaving the chunk by the fact the game knows there’s an entity on the other side of the chunk barrier and so it won’t allow it to pass beyond the barrier. The only way to get that farm to work is with minecarts and rails because the game will place the cart at the end of the track once it enters the unloaded chunk.

Y'now, this actually seems legit, as Nether is often called Hell, combine it with the fact that there's no concept of time and normal orienteering (clock and compass are going crazy, i'm not even talking about map or sleeping in bed), it's pretty appropriate that you can do whatever witchcraft you want in there. Here is a way to get lava on superflat: Step 1. Do a raid. Step 2. Get hero of the village. Step 3. Get blacksmith or armour smith villagers, I don't remember which one. Step 4: They have a chance of dropping a lava bucket to you as a hero of the village. Booyah

With that being said, however, although this video proves it’s impossible, the fact that Mud Flaps still did like 98% in superflat and only switched to a regular world where absolutely necessary is still really impressive
@doctahwahwee2237 To be fair, it's the *only* way to actually complete the challenge, and from what i can see in the video, he only ported over the items that were necessary (blaze rods, end frames, flint, and lava). Imo it'd be kind of boring if the video just ended halfway through with "no, it's not possible" (which he did acknowledge). It's anticlimactic. I think it makes for a better video that he explained how it would be *technically* possible in the computer's perspective, but not literally possible in a person's perspective. Granted I'm biased because I really like videos about game-breaking or exploiting glitches, so I enjoyed the video anyway

Even though reverse updating your world to make it no longer superflat feels like cheating, there isn't really any other way to beat the game in superflat.

The wandering-trader farm he used in that video was tested and proven not to work.
The wandering-traders aren’t transported by the water streams after they reach an unloaded chunk, so the next wandering-trader will be stopped from leaving the chunk by the fact the game knows there’s an entity on the other side of the chunk barrier and so it won’t allow it to pass beyond the barrier. The only way to get that farm to work is with minecarts and rails because the game will place the cart at the end of the track once it enters the unloaded chunk.
Finally, someone who knows what they're doing in these challenges.

Here is a way to get lava on superflat: Step 1. Do a raid. Step 2. Get hero of the village. Step 3. Get blacksmith or armour smith villagers, I don't remember which one. Step 4: They have a chance of dropping a lava bucket to you as a hero of the village. Booyah
structures don’t spawn in his world, so villages can’t spawn

@doctahwahwee2237 To be fair, it's the *only* way to actually complete the challenge, and from what i can see in the video, he only ported over the items that were necessary (blaze rods, end frames, flint, and lava).
Imo it'd be kind of boring if the video just ended halfway through with "no, it's not possible" (which he did acknowledge). It's anticlimactic. I think it makes for a better video that he explained how it would be *technically* possible in the computer's perspective, but not literally possible in a person's perspective.
Granted I'm biased because I really like videos about game-breaking or exploiting glitches, so I enjoyed the video anyway
