Reducing your reliance on drenches to control gut worms is essential for the long-term health of your animals. There are many wierd and wonderful old wives tales out there, many of which have no evidence behind them or, even worse, can harm your animals. However there ARE a number of crucial tools you can implement to naturally keep worms low.
Note that natural preventatives should always go hand in hand with a rigorous testing schedule to make sure you're in the all clear. Natural preventions SHOULD NEVER be used as treatment for an unwell animal. If clinical signs or a heavy burden develop, drench and consult your vet.

Our vet prescribed pharmaceuticals for tape worm, a month later they were back. So we tried 1 Tbsp garlic powder with 1 Tbsp molasses and a little water to help get it in and out of the syringe. It’s been several months no and when we had them retested they were negative. Guess which med I’ll be using again!

Hi Sez, went through some of your videos today. I had recently bought a pair of sheep and they were somewhat unwell (Bottle Jaw). By your videos i was able to diagnose the problem and the remedial actions that are needed to be taken. Thank you so much for the effort you put to help newbies like me and yes i would also like to take this opportunity to say that you are such a wonderful person.
    Love from Pakistan

My woolies love nibbling on hedges and tree leaves and things like Kawakawa. Would Kawakawa help with worms?

Can you also use these for sheep?

Hi Shelley, yes you can. Sheep do, however, have a much greater tendency to topple over with copper toxicity, so wouldn't be reaching for that (although there is some research there, I believe). Just need to be a bit careful with that one.

@@SeztheVet thanks. Yeah, I wasn't planning on going to copper route. Thinking of planting some of the suggested plants in my pasture if I can find them though.
Side note: Alligator weed. Is it toxic to stock. Sheep in particular?
