My papaya tree fell after a storm and i was so devastated because it had so much fruit and we all were looking forward to have them. Looked up green papaya uses and this very informative video popped up. Thank you so much

It does, but be careful! We marinated chicken in it overnight and the chicken had the consistency of paste the next day lol! I'd use it on beef, like round steak or something.

Make sure you keep all the leaves with stems. Dehydrate them and keep them to drink tea when you have constipation.
Maybe blend them and jar it with honey or dates and drink as a tea.

    Hi
I have just bought 2 green papaya's. We live in Ireland and paid a FORTUNE for 2 of these. We want to make Thai salad but have a bit too much for eating all at once. If you freeze the papaya, in large pieces, will it defrost well enough to grate for use in a salad?
    Many thanks 👍

When you defrost it, papaya will still be tough enough to grate it. It might soften a bit though. It will not be as tough as when fresh.

Maybe julienne it before you freeze it. It’ll be less work, the second time around.

I just bought a house in Florida and found a papaya tree with a bunch of green Papaya. Seeing this video makes me want to pick them now and eat them. I’m wondering if it’s better to wait until they are ripe? Do you only use the green papaya in situations like this when they fall? Do you prefer to wait until they are ripe? Thanks for the great video!

Papaya is vegetable and fruit in one plant. I personally prefer green papayas because I grate them and make salads. Papain makes my stomach feel really good. I am not a fan of ripe papayas because they taste too sweet to me. If you prefer sweet food then ripe papayas are for you. If you have digestive problems, yeast or other digestive issues then green papaya is the best.

Papaya and their seeds are good parasite cleansers.
Or dry the seeds and use them like peppercorn, it has a spicy kick.
This kind of papayas are good for soups. Boil salted/brined pork ribs or any kind of meat chicken seafood/fish or bone broth and add green/slightly ripe papayas. It is absolutely delicious 🤤

I found something called the Green Papaya. It’s white inside with a res thin layer , and has some seeds. Is it OK to eat it raw?

Is there is why to make it yellow? Like wrap in paper?

From my experience if papaya is green it will never ripen on the counter. It has to show signs of ripening on the plant in order to finish the process on the counter.

My hands got a little itchy when I peeled it. I’m going to grate it and fry it with EVOO and garlic with a little onion
