    Simple cut them at 1.20m from the ground when there are less fruit on the tree. Staighten the stem fertilize, and it will regenerate new sprouts, prune them to one, when they are 1-1½ inch thick. This sprout will produce blossoms after 1 month. So you can enjoy the second life of your pp tree.😊

    Separate point from the video but I can never get my papaya tree to bear fruit that big just very small fruit and usually they stay h even for a long time.. can this be a result of non-consistent watering?

    I cut ours when it hit 12 ft. Once it gets beyond what I can reach with a typical ladder, I'll cut it. I made sure there were a couple of sprouts growing first, and cut just above that. The sprouts probably won't put out as big a fruit as the original stem. But when I cut it, there was a massive thud when it hit the ground. I can imagine how much noise your papaya plant made when it fell.

    Best thing to do before it gets to tall is to let a few of the lower sprouts grow. Once those sprouts get going, cut the tree just above those sprouts. From what I've seen, those secondary growths aren't as strong and fruitful as the original tree. If you have other trees that are younger/shorter, you can try topping those to send energy sideways and try to force it to fruit sooner/lower.

    Make sure you keep all the leaves with stems. Dehydrate them and keep them to drink tea when you have constipation. Maybe blend them and jar it with honey or dates and drink as a tea.

    I’m sorry! But when the babies are close together like that away from the adopted mom. They are scared of her, she keeps packing them because she isn’t accepting them. She will end up killing them. I don’t know how old this video is. I hope the babies are doing well. When she bows up at the other hens. She isn’t protecting them as her own. It’s because she’s still in the broody stage. Mother hens don’t pack their babies. It don’t matter how many times they pack her she will not pack them. She is packing them roughly.

      The general rule is that herbs need to be fully dehydrated before placing them into alcohol. I was told by professional herbalists that if you place fresh, the water content will cause problems. Fresh food become perishable fast.

      From my experience if papaya is green it will never ripen on the counter. It has to show signs of ripening on the plant in order to finish the process on the counter.

    wow how tall is the papaya?

  • @mikemoholland8675
    @mikemoholland8675 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    To shorten a papaya tree simply cut the top inch off of your tree. You should do this every time your tree grows 5 inches. In young seedlings, this will result in a thicker trunk and in older trees, it will result in more branches growing out the side rather than upwards growth.

    • @MagnificentHomesteading
      @MagnificentHomesteading 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What if you papaya is already large ?

    • @mikemoholland8675
      @mikemoholland8675 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MagnificentHomesteading I don't know. I do know that I don't want it more than 12 feet otherwise I can't reach the fruit. When mine get too tall I can just replace it with a new one, but might try cutting back a couple feet and see if I can save it rather than lose.it.

    • @Mrkellywilliamson
      @Mrkellywilliamson ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike: Have you tried this pruning technique yourself? I ask because I am about to plant Papaya trees in Hawaii and I don't want them to grow too tall -- limiting them to 12' in height seems ideal. Pruning the top, upward branches, after every 5" growth spurt seems excessive -- but I have never grown a papaya tree and so your technique might be perfect. I just am seeking to be very clear on this and learn from those who have done this through an entire growth cycle to include harvesting the fruit. Thank you.
