You left that one light out on the left on purpose didn't you! After the whole speech about the dozens of comments you get! Hope you get to do more of these early solid state machines, they're my favorites to watch.
Hard times in the land of plenty …. fixing horrible stuff on any machine is hard, … hard on the hands, hard on the eyes, and generally hard to fix. You sorted that flipper out … even if it forced you to teach it the hard way. It sure was broke but it’s fine now. Have a great day Ronnie.
Great video. I have been watching alot these repair videos and everyone is talking about people gripping about something on them in the comments. They sure wouldnt have survived regular TV back in the day when their voice was never heard unless it was a neighbor next door. :). I learn alot from your videos. Been watching a few years now. Thanks for putting them on here.
Of course its pronounced "sodder" my dad taught me that. Building some kits with my 16yr old daughter, I will teach her how to pronounce it correctly as well :)
I edited in the video of the Dream doing his "Hard Times" promo but youtube made me edit it out. There might be a little flash of him still left in there...
Quick advice, for investors only Most people think, Investing in crypto is all about buying coins, then leaving it to rise, come on it takes much analysis to be a successful crypto trader. I've made $16,000 in 2 weeks of trading. With a capital of $3,400
@@migueldurrelo8951 you should go on long term investment. I'm a long term investor, I started at the beginning of the year with $10,000 presently I'm having $103,700 on my dashboard, it takes patience.
It's weird, when you're in the solenoid test part of me is going, "don't just leave it run, you'll wear it out" and the other part of me is telling the first part "that's nothing compared to what happens while it's being played!" Makes me laugh at myself each time...
"Them people with OCD" are gonna be annoyed with your English. Also with my "gonna". There's no pleasing people with OCD. Also getting finger oil on lightbulbs. 😀 Happy Monday and Happy (almost)March Ron!
Well, Ron/Joe, TBH, the artist of this game doesn't know which service Steve Austin was in! He was USAF, not USN! Above the flippers, those aircraft are clearly A-4 Skyhawks, Navy/USMC planes! The USAF bought Navy-designed planes in the 1960s and 1970s (F-4s and A-7s) but they never operated A-4s in any capacity to my knowledge. The artist is also depicting the A-4s as dogfighter/interceptors. They were never used this way in actual combat by American forces. Otherwise, Steve (Austin) must have been doing an exchange tour with a Navy attack squadron (VFA) during 'Nam and broke the rules to down a MiG! That's a better story than saying the artist screwed up and didn't do his research, anyway!
I'm confused why pinball games use "strobe" for the segment displays because if they didn't use the strobe signal what would happen? The advantage of using the strobe signal is for reasons about saving current on and the lights life span i think
The displays are wired up like a lamp matrix...6 strobes for the digits, and 7 returns for the segments. That way only 13 things to control. Without strobing it would take 6 X 7 or 42 individual controlled currents.
WD-40 is just aerosolized kerosene. Even diesel fuel would make a better "lubricant." And you don't even need to buy it in a can. If you have a small aerosol sprayer, you can pressurize kerosene yourself and get it cheaper. And some use Bardohl in industrial parts washers, which is another brand of kerosene. It is funny how they can repurpose and rebrand a product and charge more. Like for fish, you can get a "total buffer adjustment" chemical for a few dollars. Reading the contents, it says, "Sodium Bicarbonate." Shoot, you can get a larger quantity at the grocery store for like 79 cents or whatever. That's just baking soda. And if that is used as a food additive or antacid for humans, then it shouldn't bother tropical fish so long as the amount is right. If one accidentally puts kerosene in a diesel tank, a possible workaround to not have to drain the tank is to add outboard motor oil for 2-stroke engines. That adds some lubricant to a rather dry fuel. And going the other way, if you have a kerosene furnace and you get the tank filled with #2 oil (AKA diesel fuel), then adding a fuel conditioner for trucks (eg., Power Pal) or a tiny amount of gasoline (no more than 2-4 oz. per 200 gallons) should help it to burn better. That would dry out some of the lubrication and thin it. Of course, if you want to convert a kerosene furnace to diesel fuel, then you'd need to change the fuel nozzle and regap the electrodes (assuming electronic).
Hey you solder pronunciation commenters: the second thing you should consider before correcting a pronunciation is to make sure that you're right. Look at the dictionary website---the pronunciation given has a silent "L". It doesn't even offer one with a pronounced "L" as an alternative. You're just wrong! But the FIRST thing you should consider is whether the person being corrected is receptive to correction in the first place. Read the room.
Some folks made a funny mistake at work the other day, I swear I said “Come on people….” Before I realised what I was saying! Another great video!
OMG! You two got me laughing today. With perfect timing, when you asked Joe, he and I responded “It’s broke”! Too funny! Thanks Ron, great video!
Thanks for watching Dan, we appreciate it!

Great video Ron, its coming along nicely. Nice to hear Joe in the background saying “Its broke” I’ve started to use this saying in my line of work.

I never remove older solder either. The flux from the new solder makes the old solder flow again anyway. :)
Come on people it's metal people. Come on now. It's metal, it's not going to go bad people, you just need to heat it up. Come on now

When in switch test all the number displays shows a number for each switch.
But one only fashes a 0.
Is that number for a test?

Hey, I see a light bulb on
I wonder if any of the early-'80s Bally games with speech would speak error codes out loud?
not that i'm aware of, they may have pulled that off though. I don't even know if any modern ones speak the error codes...
@@LyonsArcade It would had been quite easily done using speech synthesis, which is what those games used (and to very good effect).
take piece masking tape and marking the one of bulb out
