I appreciate all your hard work and diligence when it comes to all these controllers. You could have left it at the first review, or the follow up. But you continue to deliver, and update through the life of the controller. Where was I? Oh yeah, thank you!

Yup, the not turning on after holding the X button AND plugging it in is what made me return it.
I also hated the “click through” feel of the DPad.

I've had this controller for a while now, playing every day for several hours and had no issues, it's plugged into my Xbox via a rear usb, I've had no disconnections or any if the issues ppl have had. I have slightly greased the sticks/friction rings to avoid that issue and so far it's been perfect.

hi friend as always beautiful video details, I bought this controller to use it on the PC, aesthetically beautiful, light, and the best for analogue ones, you can manage it much better in anti-recoil situations, I found a some problems the PC software is buggy, then I connect the wired Astro headphones via 3.5mm Jack, from the controller display when you go to audio mix, and you want to raise the game audio more and lower the voice chat does not respond at the command, the only thing that can be managed is the audio in general, then as soon as you place the controller in the charging base with the headphones always connected, it gets wet and the microphone of the headphones no longer makes it work, I have to Turn your PC off and on again. Have you encountered the same problems as far as you know? Thanks in advance @@GamerHeavenOfficial

But after a few board resets and recalibrations, it works perfectly fine. Nothing else so far, but if that's literally all I get, then I'm in a rare camp in which mine is not even majorly faulty. Kudos to TB from me for making resetting the board easy to do.

  • @Wurstifier
    @Wurstifier 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

4:39 No, it's not the heat or anything like that. It's also not because the Xbox can't handle multiple dongles. It is simply because the radio connection is lost. Your headset also uses the 2.4 GHz band, as does Xbox Wireless, Bluetooth and old WiFi. If you then place the dongle at the back, the signal has to be reflected off the wall or radiate "through" the console (although it is more likely to go past it) instead of from the front directly to the controller. More wireless dongles = more problems. The Trutle Beach Controller's wireless protocol is simply poorly protected against interference.

I’ve been through 2 scuff instinct pros ,3 elites series 2 controllers which I found that the Xbox series elite 2 controllers have about a six month to a year shelflife basically stick drift with them, four months and the scuffs with the removable plate. The buttons start to stick fast. I also owned a fusion pro to power a spectrum big big won I’ve tried so many different controllers I’m done paying two to $300 for these premium controllers that don’t even offer anti-drift or guaranteeing 1000 Hz pulling rate as of right now on PC I’m rocking the game sr se Inside of the software you got your thousand hertz update without having a overclock on X input. Also it has Hall effect analog sticks hands-down right now in my opinion that is the best controller on the market and it only cost $44.

  • @tylerj1425
    @tylerj1425 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

I’m a pretty casual gamer now a days with my job and I still manage to burn through Controllers regularly due to stick drift so I’m only looking into “Pro” controllers to try and escape the continuous annoying circle that I’m in. I was and still am surprised how fixing the stick drift issue isn’t considered one of the staples of these high price controllers and how everyone is ok paying more money for a few fancy buttons and different color schemes. Seems to me like fixing the stick drift issue so buying a new controller every few months (regardless of price) should be higher on everyone’s list, would at least make the $200 price tag more worth the investment.
Found this channel looking into the Turtle Beach cause of the better joysticks. Watched the controller show down and was pretty much sold on it… then I found this video and my fears were immediately confirmed. I have a pair of their stealth 700 headsets and had to warranty them 3 times in as many months for connectivity issues with the dongle and the app. Now on my 4th pair and a little over a year in everything seems to be working fine (fingers crossed) but the head piece adjustment is getting a little loose. Was wondering how the connectivity of this controller would be and how it would work with another dongle hanging out of the Xbox and I guess the answer is “not great” I’ll either end up with controller issue or it’ll bring back issues with my headset that’s now out of warranty.
After looking into this maybe it’s time we consider Turtle Beach is not the great company it once was. At least maybe not in my eyes. Seems like all their products lately are having the same type of issues with breaking down fast or not connecting. I know this is a longer post and I could go on on how disappointed I am in the lack of effort companies seem to be putting into fixing issues that kill controllers in their “pro” models in what’s seems more like a money grab by flashing bells and whistles in front of us than anything else but maybe that’s a post for somewhere else

And didn’t he just complain about it having its own dongle that has a FASTER input, that is to say much less input lag, than the Xbox wireless even has? Odd. Like a lot of products in life, you could love something when you first get it, but as you use it more you can learn to either dislike it or downright hate it; especially with game controllers that are known for having bad long-term reliability a lot of the time unfortunately.
As far as the Turtle Beach Stealth Ultra, not to sound snobby, but I would never buy a custom or pro controller at this point that doesn't have gyro. It really is a game-changer for FPS.

The faulty thing was the thumb stick covers, everything else works fine besides the app development, even that catches fire though.
Put a little price of napkin or paper towel under the thumb cover when putting it on the thumb stick, you're golden. They made it 1:1 so it's gonna slip around.
Also while the app may be lacking a bit, it's the first of its kind, there's gonna be flaws, I hope people buy it to make more revisions possible for a better one.

  • @exyiaevox
    @exyiaevox 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I just returned mine
Not having other thumbsticks/caps included for this price is absurd. It mattered to me because the sticks are on the smaller side - my little nephew said they felt like sticks on his switch, not a premium $200+ xbox controller
The select (or whatever it's called these days) button placement feels like nobody actually tested this controller for very long. I don't mind when controllers move the start/select buttons from the center, but the select button is awkward to hit with this controller's placement. It's too close to the stick. So if/when you add control stick caps/extensions/grips, this problem will only get worse. This is really annoying when most games keybind an in-game map to this button.
The bumpers are a textbook example of how "mechanical" doesn't always mean better. Yes, these bumpers are mechanical - but they have NO tactile feedback. Because most people use a hinge design for these bumpers, I think the torque lever that it creates on the button is so amplified that there's barely feedback force left at your finger tips. That's just my theory that could be wildly wrong. Point being, these bumpers definitely click, but there's barely any tactility.
They also crafted in some dumb turtle beach logos on the side that break up the very good texturing they built on the side grips - and it creates this really annoying sticky and sweaty spot on your hands. Yet again it feels like nobody tested this for over an hour.
The deal breaker for me, which I think is a shame that people are just glossing over is ergonomics. The triggers are shaped more like shoulders. There is no horizontally flat face on these triggers - they are completely contoured. They're shaped in a way that you "squeeze" these triggers in rather than "pull". I think this is a shame, because it forces your grip around squeezing this controller and it becomes uncomfortable in other grip styles. I like my triggers to feel and pull like....triggers.....with my finger on a flatter face of the trigger and pulling it back. I think a good portion of xbox controller users hold their controllers this way too - and this controller doesn't cater to that.
It's a shame, because at least it has trigger vibration (I know not everyone cares, but I do). After trying all the high end controllers, I'm back to my Vader 3 Pro then....which isn't perfect either, but it's hard to compromise on design quirks/issues when the other controllers cost ~$200.

I have 2 of these controllers and I do love them the hall effect sticks are amazing they feel very smooth when playing FPS games. I haven't had any disconnect issues with either of them, but on both controllers the right triggers have broke off after only playing with them for 30 days. Turtle beach customer service has been great and I have received replacements for them since they offer a 1 year 5 million clicks on all the buttons. But I feel the like these trigger locks are going to be a issue. All I play is FPS games and never unlock the trigger locks, but for some reason these trigger locks seem to fail and break causing you to loose the right trigger over time. If you have one of these controllers the design on the triggers has this sharp curve towards the end of the trigger and when pressing these triggers down with the trigger locks locked they aren't flush and have a tendency to go more to the right for the right trigger and left to the left trigger because of the sharp design curve of the triggers at the bottom... All in all amazing controller response time is unbeatable feels great in your hands.

One of my biggest gripes with the controller is the placement of the back button, it's alright without the included caps on, but with, its just so awkward to press. Especially for a game like trials where you press it constantly to restart. 2nd and biggest gripe is the dpad. Having played allot with the official Xbox Series controller and 8bitdo's ultimate and pro 2 controller I will say the dpad is alright to use, but doesn't feel accurate enough for me to want to use. As someone who is a big fan of the tony hawk games I could not consistently land revert to manuals with this controller whereas the other ones I mentioned those I can do it every time.
So while this is the controller I pick up if I'm going to play a game that uses primarily the sticks, like a racing game or third person shooter, I will always opt for an 8bitdo controller when playing a game using the dpad.

Brand new this controller was on another level. However, for me it was a flash fire and I’ve gotten cold. I won’t be using the Stealth Ultra to game.
I play on Xbox w/ a desk so I used this wired because of disconnects and battery. A let down, but not a deal breaker.
The left stick grind, software, view/start button placement retired it for me.
I did wrap the stick stem with foil tape once the plastics of the anti-friction rings and stick started degrading, but found it a short term solution. It was only a couple days before smooth was back to grinding…. I don’t feel like I’m heavy handed on the sticks either.
I also had some unexplained software issues. One where the D Pad would be sending input. Once where it was stuck on down, and another stuck on right. Playing around disconnecting/reconnecting with Xbox did stop this, however, it has recurred and seams more frequent. The D-Pad did not react the same when using the plus button to enter the display menu.
I’ve also had issues where I’ve tried to calibrate the sticks and triggers and no input or recalibration would happen. In the Xbox app or through the controller’s menu.
The dead zones also had to be increased fairly quickly. I started pretty zero’d out. (Zero’d in controller menu & .02 in game (Destiny 2’s radial dead zone setting)). Last night after a d-pad episode I recalibrated and was running .06 and could see drift @ .05. This is the same setting I use on my 8 month old elite 2 & instinct pro. This might not be apples to apples because I’m not sure what the baseline level is being adjusted in game, but a definite downgrade.
This whole purchase only gave me glimpses of what’s possible. I’m a controller fanatic like I suppose most people here are. And I’m back on my ole elite 2 after hot affairs with stealth & instinct.
So disappointed that we’re still stuck on not which model/brand is the best, but which toy isn’t broken as much at the time.

Can't say I've accidentally hit the screen control button but I can see how it could happen, my biggest actual issue is the Select button - especially with caps on the sticks I find muscle memory tapping it I always end up hitting the stick, immersion breaking having to consciously tap it directly for map menu etc
After that, I question longevity of the sticks on the anti friction rings which after a few hours use feel no better than a worn standard controller (esp when comparing to the slick elite feel)
Contrary to your update issues on console app, I actually found the PC app very finicky but Xbox seems to work quite well.
All in all, loving the hall effect and mechanical buttons but I dare say the market is still in need of that holy grail of controllers this one is a solid shot, the best attempt yet infact but isn't quite it.
Maybe the elite series 3 will be the one, if it doesn't use hall effects and mechanical switches however I'll certainly be awaiting the Stealth Ultra 2.

So I bought one and I like it, but there's a few issues that stop me from LOVING it. So I'm on deployment right now, so right now I'm only using it on PC, but some of the experiences you had mirror mine but I have stuff worth sharing.
    1. When using Bluetooth to your phone, you want to make sure to pair BOTH the controller AND the app connection in your Bluetooth settings, otherwise it will drop because the controller is trying to pair to something else.
    2. I was experiencing Disconnect issues when hardwired like you were even on PC, I reset the controller and updated the firmware and I since haven't had that problem (again however, I'm on PC, not xbox)
    3. Yeah I don't like the PC App ether, it's better using the phone app or just doing the settings straight on the controller screen.
    4. My biggest gripe with this, it's the customization is missing what is the MOST important setting for me which is the ability to swap stick inputs. I play my Fps games in southpaw (using right stick for movement and left stick for aim/look) a many newer games are increasing leaving out this option. I had replaced my Elite V1 control that finally broke with this, expecting to do the same thing I did, which was create a profile with the sticks swapped and be able to switch on the fly. I did find a work around though. The first party xbox app works on this, just limited and doesn't support the back buttons. So I made a profile and loaded that into the control.... the only downside is I have to go INTO the app to switch back, unlike the elite controller where I could just switch profiles on the fly...once (or IF) they add this as a feature... the controller for me is perfect

This controller and the scuf instinct pro imo are the best out there I've had 5 elites since they came out and every single one has had horrible problems. I was thinking about getting it but once I really looked & compared it & it was a big NO for that price. Analyzing this ur better off getting the elite 2 & just adding the turtle beach audio adapter. It turns regular headlphones into gaming headphones. The Turtle Beach adapter takes the audio technica mx50s to the next level. U can also add the adapter to any xbox controller but its even better when u have it on the elite 2...The elite 2 has more features...With this ur basically paying for the screen which I'm down if it was maybe $125, but for $200 u get more bang 4 ur buck with the elite 2 & the turtle beach audio adapter

It doesn't have gyro might be a requirement for being an official licensed controller since I never see that feature on any 3rd party licensed controller that I know. Having said that, I didn't check every controller that I know, just some controller from Gamesir and 8bitdo. What is also kinda annoying which might be tied with the license thing is the fact that I have Gamesir T4K that has 3.5mm audio jack but it doesn't work in X-input mode! I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work because of the licensing thing. FYI, the 3.5mm jack does work when connected to the PC with other than X-input mode.

I don't play FPS games, I only play mainly 3rd person games, such as RDR2, GoW, the Jedi series or the classic non-3rd person must have Cyberpunk.
And yet, hesitating, I sent him away.
Finally, sticks with zero drift and zero dead zone. all buttons, bumpers and dpad are mechanical, clickable like a mouse. The quality of workmanship is top, everything fits perfectly, nothing creaks. The pad is very comfortable and handy when playing for a long time, and it charges very quickly. However, there are disadvantages: - compared to elite 2, the pad seems toy-like - nothing is made of metal, everything is plastic and the controller itself is light (240g vs 350), there is no premium feeling of the product in the hands - no BT connection for Xbox and PC, only via dongle (despite the description that it works via BT) - photo in review no. 3 - the battery does not work for 30 hours, I have the LEDs set to static with minimum brightness and the screen off time is 3 minutes, and sleep time is 5 minutes - with these settings the controller works for a maximum of 10-12 hours. To sum up, despite its flaws, it is the most responsive and precise pad I have ever used. So much so that skill challenges in some games that I found difficult to complete went smoothly using this pad. Precision, responsiveness of the mouse, comfort of the mouse. That's why, having a lot of reservations, I still give it 4* because its innovation and performance are unprecedented. Additionally, headphones connected to the cable via a jack sound very well, and there are many options for personalizing the settings. Finally, the screen built into the pad - GREAT, changing settings or profiles directly from the pad, without an external application, is great. An innovative product that requires corrections.
    Now update:
After updating the software, the pad had a problem connecting to the dongle, I kept having to pair it again, but then the connection was stable.
Lots of small flaws started to annoy me, that it didn't work in a somewhat transparent way like the original Xbox or PS pads.
I used the pad with a PC, I don't have an Xbox, only a PC and a PS5, so I don't know how it works with the console,
The turning point of the decision to return it was its design defect (I thought it was a defect in my unit and I would replace it with another one, but no) - the pad rubs the stick pin against the ring around the pad when the sticks are deflected - as if someone was filing a tree trunk around.
A lot of people complain about it, we can see the wear and grind of the sticks.
Additionally, the pad is indulgent and toy-like in the hands, it does not give the impression of a premium product, but rather a toy with more LEDs.
I'm waiting for elite 3, hopefully with hall effect sticks and triggers as well as buttons and bumpers with microswitches

Even plugged directly into my pc, there seems to be issues where I’ll get more input lag if I have a headset also plugged into the controller. The dongle also has terrible connectivity. Even plugged into a usb port on top of my pc (sits on the floor right under my desk) it seems to hold a connection but will sometimes not make correct movements based on button clicks or thumb stick movements. They also haven’t updated the firmware since I believe January, so 5ish months ago. I think all of the fixes can be made just by firmware updates and software fixes. Bluetooth connectivity is also an issue for me.
