I can see that depending on who said it to me! Now, If it was my sister, we'd both crack up because we both have our strengths and we often "trade off". Is it a teaching opportunity for you when someone says that offensive phrase? I hope so. Maybe the scales would fall off their eyes and they would be empowered to focus on the right things instead of depending on people like you.
I'm 59 and remember the days when the day after an election the "contenders" shook hands and went to work or went home. But somewhere along the way politicians decided to use divisiveness as a tool. Against us, the people they claim to serve! For their own means and not in our best interests. We are reaping the rewards of that. And it's all about power, and keeping it. Term limits. Full stop. Nobody should get to spend 40 years as a politician and never, ever have had a real job. Lawyer doesn't count. Peace out. Lets support one another and get our houses in order. Keep calm and prep on.

At this point, I don't think term limits are the problem. A whole bunch of people have decided that we don't need free elections anymore. And they're willing to hurt people if they don't get their way.

I remember walking home 8 miles in the middle of the night after babysitting and not being the least bit concerned. Also leaving the house unlocked while we went camping for a week. Now I freak out if my daughter lets my 13-year-old granddaughter go to the restroom by herself! This world has already gone to hell in a handbasket and I hate that it's dragging so many down with it! My late husband never locked the house. He died 2004. Since then the doors have been locked even when I am home. Some years ago a neigbor down the road who had a lot of druggy people living on his property died & there was a commotion every night with people rummaging through any place around here that wasn't locked. It was scary! Cities are unsafe but so is the country... Safety has become a huge concern. The condition of this earth is rivaling that of the time leading up to Noah & The Great Flood.

I just turned 70. I am a former professional soldier. In 2010 after over 18 months of searching I bought a home in the Appalachian mountains. The handwriting was on the wall. After the invasion of Ukraine we stockpiled six months of food and supplies. I have a generator and can isolate for a year or more. You are dead nuts on the mark.

As a senior, my head is always on a swivel. I do have my CCL and I do practice regularly at a range. I even lock my house when I am mowing my yard. I can't see my door at all times when I am mowing.
I do the exact same, when im mowing the back yard any one could walk in my house, so i lock it up, its a nutty world out there now
My grandmother was robbed that way in the 80s...one guy was talking to her in the front yard and his companion was walking in the back and helping himself to whatever he could find!
I am a divorced single woman living with my sister. We seem to be on the same page. My daughter just gave birth to her third child. Her husband, a former green beret medic has their safety planned out and they have a freeze dry set up so we are putting away food together. Their neighbors are all doing the same. It is a good feeling to have all your family and friends on the same wave length and not succumbing to the fear mongering , We are enjoying the lifestyle of being responsible and loving each other.

My daughter & sil have 6 children & don't believe me!😳I'm working my behind off to stockpile blankets, coats, firewood,food, & garden, forage for medicinal plants & roots that she, 1 of her children, & I need, & buying & hiding tradables to keep my grandchildren fed, warm, w/medications, & safe. I am stressed! It's a lot of work & $ for 1 person to attempt to sustain 9 people for 2yrs! 🥹

I went to the store and the faces on most people were worried. I said good morning to everyone I saw with a smile. They always smiled back.

I spent 5 hours at stores today. I spoke to quite a few people, and everyone was kind, and I was kind to them. I am from the time when it was rude to walk by someone and not say hi or nod your head, at least acknowledge their existence.
I worked retail for around 40 years. We could have 100 wonderful customers, and then the 1 bad one that was yelling and demanding. Everyone would remember the one bad one, and it would upset them for days. Many times, my young associates were in tears.
When someone is being loud and demanding, just remember, they are the bad ones and try to remember all the good people around us. It it hard? Yes. Is it necessary for our mental health? Yes.
I've noticed how quiet the stores are for the most part, very few people are talking and have stressed expressions. People definitely are on edge.

My lifelong best friend and his adult son said they were coming to my place.
(We’ve talked about this before as we all hunt and fish together, share gardening knowledge, etc.) I told him to bring every prep they have!
I then reminded him I may have to come to one of their houses… They agreed.

But I dont share the fear of the coming november event, im more concerned with war, sudden life changing environmental disasters, or economic changes caused by war. I had my wake up call during the pandemic. I didn't have anything put up or stocked in the pantry. Now I don't care who is in charge, I'm looking out for myself and my family. I have a lot of work to do still and keep tuning in here for ideas /inspiration.
I don’t think we thought there was a need to stock up pre-pandemic. It definitely was an eye opener.
I was very well stocked up pre Covid. I stock up for many reasons job loss, winter storms ( I live in NY) death of a family member. When Covid hit I had at least one years worth of almost everything except hand sanitizer, masks, and sweet snacks for my sweet tooth.

We are in Ontario and just prepping is important. I care for my elderly parents and I cannot imagine the chaos that is about to erupt. I plan to care for my family....3 sons and their significant others as well as anyone else who needs help. Gardening like crazy and stocking up on the essentials. I'm sure we are not the only ones. Bless us all.
I see so many people still buying 80,000 dollar suvs. They are renting out condos that are several hundred dollars a night at the beach. I don’t get it. We are very blessed and live better than some but how these people do it just bewilder me. Yes they might make decent money but even so… expensive vehicles, private school, gym membership etc. It’s like people are completely ignorant to what’s going on.

I'm 56 I had a gym teacher in Grade 8 who taught all of his female students how to defend themselves...palm upward into the nose and keeping your keys between your fingers in case of an attack, knee to the "male nether regions". etc. You may think it is horrible that someone young should know this, but this is good information and has been for the past 40 or so years. We all need to teach this to our young women and men.

My dad taught my twin sister and I that: "aim for the b+++" maneuver. Our dad did NOT mince words nor sugar coat anything. We were about 7 yrs old at the time and had to have dad explain as to how kicking them "there" was gonna help us. Ironic that the very next day our 13 yr old brother was somehow hurt "down there"(can't remember what happened) and him screaming at me and my twin: "THIS is why you aim for the privates!!" LOL, the dots connected in our brains that afternoon.

as a single woman, I am afraid to put myself out there to date or make friends. I thought it was in my head that people are they way they used to be 25 years ago. People are angrier; their motive for talking to you always seems calculated. I am not sorry to say this but when I meet a guy I look for red flags of narcissism or financial distress. I find people are shameless and would do anything to reel you into their lives to use and abuse you. I am prepping as much as I can and I am vetting people thoroughly, but my little stash of cash and goods I will always keep those a secret from anyone, but my parents 😊. I am glad to have found this channel. Finally, I am validated. People around us are mean, angry and on the verge of breaking. Protect ourselves

Joe Biden has dementia and is being used by a corrupt administration of hidden people. Trump is sharp and able to lead our nation back to prosperity. I feel it in my bones that my children will not have the same kind of life that i have had so far, and it concerns me. I never thought the world would be the way that it is. I feel that so many bad things are happening, it's hard to keep them straight. I put my trust in the Lord and try to do my best to get ready.
I'm from the tail end of gen x. My kids are young still and it terrifies me the world they're inheriting. We don't have a ton of space so we have prepped all the nooks and crannies I can fill. Now it's just a waiting game. We don't have enough. We have more than we can pack to leave the house if we needed to. We're in a small town. I carry my weapon everyday but I just got a job at a school where I won't be allowed to. I won't go to the larger towns with my 2 kids unless I have 2 adults. One to grab the kids and one to pull their weapon if we get trapped and can't get away. I will take my awful mother with me because she can grab the kids before I go alone with them. I am ok in our small town taking them alone with my head on a swivel and then on a short proverbial leash in the store. I'm trying to balance showing my kids how to be confident with being careful. They still think everyone is good and I hate to break their hearts but they have to know in a way that doesn't make them scared of the world and unwilling to ever leave the house when they're adults. This of course providing the world makes it that long. The only folks coming here are hard workers willing to learn our with skills to teach us. Very close family only. My inlaws have chosen not to prep beyond very basic storm recovery after what happened this year. They're putting all their faith in God. They honestly think we're nuts I think. I hate politics and people who think their way is the only way. We can't get along anymore. Silence is agreement in their mind. It's wrong. This attitude of if you don't fight someone who disagrees then you're agreeing with them is absurd. That's what worries me most for us and the kids.

There is so much anger, I have noticed. People have stopped being civil. It makes me so sad I can’t even have a conversation with people anymore without them getting triggered.

Just heard from pastor Jack Hibbs that Tennessee Gov decreed the month of July for prayer and fasting for not only Tennessee but the whole US. Of course we need to be wise and prudent and stock up and always be ready. As a believer, I believe that we a country/state get to praying, God Almighty hears! Understanding the times we are in and get in Gods word and not fear but believe. Know that we humans can only do so much, but the God of Heaven does what we can not. My 9 yr old grandson asked me on father's day why I have so much food in my house. I responded with in case something happens. He responded with it probably won't happen. I am glad I prep but I also wish I could see things like he does 😢 I see the terrible in the world 🌎 and I do what I can to change it. All while I continue to prepare for the ball to drop.

We just relocated to NC and so many around us took the time to stop and tell us they were so happy we bought this property, welcome to the neighborhood, etc... We share our garden and helping each other with different tools/equipment.

I have a 5 acre native edibles food forest. At 70 my goal is to increase my land's carrying capacity. But already I can eat without backbreaking labor, it is a foraging forest.

I can feel that something is coming. I woke up with a strange and ominous feeling of danger approaching. I am continuing to prep as well as finding alternate ways to get out of town and get to the mountains without getting into heavy traffic.
I like the attitude of not allowing people to your home but you are willing to impart your knowledge. No one could ask for more. We all need to learn self sufficiency.

When families can’t afford heat, cooling, food, or are living in their car…….things will be strained. You are right-it’s not about politics-it’s about the humanity of the USA. My parents also never told their age or who they voted for. God be with us as we all struggle-if you aren’t an elitist -you are feeling it now…Thank you Leisa for keeping it real-where we live, electricity is higher than most areas. We are now turning off our hot water heater three days a week. As an older couple-we will continue to cut back -and put on more deodorant, to afford living.

My husband came off the road and got a local job so he can be home every night, he has taken a 180 degree turn and actually is taking active intrest in my garden, and chickens and actually told me thank you for stocking our pantry for hard times 😊 this has been such a surprise as he was always saying why ? Just go to the store! I almost want to say, who are you? And what did you do with my husband? But I won’t because I am just loving this change in him.

I recently had a 12 hour surgery for cancer in April. It has been a long recovery with 8 organs removed. When I started prepping back in 2020, I never expected that we would go through so much of our supplies because of this. I am glad we were able to use it and it was convenient since I couldn't drive to the store and my mom was here helping with cooking. Now that I am recovering more, I want to start canning again to replenish what we used up. I canned potatoes and never used them but my mom did when she was here cooking so I plan to can some again. I bought carrots to can them. After that I need to focus on replenishing all of the ground beef we went through. I need to check what we have stocked up and what we are running low on before I do anything else. I am working on it slowly as I am able to. Your videos are always so helpful. I still consider myself a newbie with canning and prepping. I will be glad to still be here for the election. I never really thought about there being unrest afterwards.

Times are nothing like they were. And we can't go back! Leisa you are so right about being prepared! I especially think canned food is the way to go because there of the possibility of power outages. That fridge or freezer won't hold the cold forever. Without power to pump gas you can't run that generator. We need to put back what we can and we should all try to show kindness when we can. The golden rule never goes out of date!!

Leisa - I hope we have that long. Looking at the global potential for wars we may have issues before then. Chaos here from sleepers and cyber is very possible. We are potentially on the eve of a major Middle East war. The US has said they will be directly involved if that happens. It’s different now than the prior ME wars. My 30 yrs military experience says these wars will be different. They will affect the home front. Everyone will benefit from pantry prep. We will make it through all of this.

When we arrived, there were 4 young foreign males with large army style guns practicing before us. Not a word of English or Spanish spoken among them. They acknowledged us and were not rude but I was so relieved when they finally left. My eyes were already open before that but WOW did that unnerve me! They are NOT here on a pleasant vacation or looking for a new life-they want OURS!
I live in Texas and I am single and in a wheelchair and I live in FEAR every day I'm prepared for WW3..Food and basic needs. I have cut back on eating and how to survive. I have a route and plans where to go if it gets worse. I have materials to close my house. The illegal Imigrants are getting more aggressive to take anything..Never thought that I would live like this. My Grandfather fought in WW2 for nothing it seems. I am a 60 year old single female living 2 states away from my entire family. I moved to the mountains of WV in 2011 because I knew this was going to happen. I've been prepping since 2008. I pretty much have everything I need to survive (as far as I know) yet continue to watch prepper videos for new ideas. I love my family, but couldn't get them to move with me, so I finally did it myself. Hoping they'll be able to make it up here when the time comes. This is a good place to be. Many local farms here, almost everyone gardens. Many good charitable people here. Small close community. I'm not worried. The rest is in GOD's hands! Thank you Jesus! Thank you LORD!!!

😮I'm 68 yrs old and have seen a number of elections. I agree, I've never felt the walls, fear and hate that I have felt so far this year. I think I'm about as prepped as I can be, but when you can't even trust neighbors to be rational, it's bad!
Luckily, I have my 5 month old puppy (who was 45.5 pounds last month). The local animal control officer (we were at the vet's office) looked at the size of her paws and said she will be 130 pounds! I almost wish I had kept the adult , very crazy male goat with long horns now, but I decided that I wanted to live - he attacked me 3 times before he and his sons were sold.
Another defense: when I was in my 30s I took defense lessons. One older man bragged about being able to kick another in the head. But you couldn't kick above your waist we told him. He smiled. First you kick their knees sideways (takes 20 lbs of pressure to dislocate them), and when they fall down, THEN you kick them in the head.
My 10 yo granddaughter can kick someone in the head and they’re standing. Of course at this point there’s a limit on height. She’s been taking karate for 2 years, purple belt with 3 stripes and a goal of black belt by age 15. In class and competitions they can’t make actual head contact but get high points for being very close. She can also take someone quite a bit bigger than her down.
@renalarue6988 I remember when I could do that - about 25 years ago! 😄 (I changed styles not long after that discussion to a style that better fit my body shape). She sounds like she is doing well (Taekwondo or generic karate?), and with having taken lessons, she will not walk or act like a victim, which is what criminals look for - a victim.
I'm 68 ys old, 5 month old puppy, 45 pounds. She's gonna be big. She is having a hard time training. Doesn't understand NO. But she barks, growls at appropriate times. Only prep thing we really need is more dog food, I think. Good luck with your pup!
I too have a puppy and need to prep more food for him! 3.5 months, 52 pounds! I'm not so sure what I was thinking, lol! We are training everyday, multiple times. Protection is natural, it's the NO things you're talking about. I am lucky to have a background working with animals for 30+ years. Sure doesn't mean it's always easy though, good luck!
@attagurlprepping9809 We are learning how to communicate with each other. She definitely wants to be an Alpha, but offering belly rubs will make her behave right now. She is smart and is learning that if she wants attention, she has to be careful. Most of the warning bites on my arm are almost healed! Anatolian Shepherd female - what is your 'tiny puppy'? I don't want to think about the dog, cat, chickens, and goat food I would have to store for the critters. Luckily I was making homemade food for my border collie before he died from cancer about 2 months ago, so I know recipes, but even with a big freezer, I couldn't store enough for this one!

I am Canadian and some of my fellow Canadians are all hyped up about your elections. Canadians should be worried about what's happening in our own country. I just keep to myself, I'm not rude , I still nod my head, smile then move on quickly, I don't want to be drawn into their drama. I understand that whatever happens in 136 days, it will affect us one way or another. I can't stop what will happen, all I can do is prepare the best I can for my family.

@@Keekonuts Born and raised in a small farming community, wouldn't change that for the world. I know my neighbors and we watch out for each other. Most of my neighbors moved from the cities a few years ago. It didn't take them long to realize that if you do your best to fit in, you will be treated like family. It's nice having that kind of security with like minded people.
By November I'm set for the winter. In SE Michigan the weather isn't too bad in early November but I sure don't want to be out in the cold and rainy flu weather. I never did stockups till the pandemic. As terrible as that time was, I learned so much about being aware, cautious and prepared thanks to people like Leisa making these videos and sharing information. Thank you for all your time and effort.

I'm in Kalamazoo and see a lot of the entitlement and amplified anger you talked about. I also see people struggling with food security. I'm on disability so frequent several food pantries and see longer and longer lines of cars waiting to get help with food. I'm sticking up on rice, beans, noodles, canned goods and have 3 freezers full that I've started working on pressure canning up the meat. I also have a small garden and have been canning up fresh fruits and jams. It doesn't take lots of money to start canning and makes me feel good to not waste the precious foods I'm given. I hope the chaos doesn't come but as a former psych nurse, I'm well prepared in how to defend myself, thumbs on either side of the bridge of the nose can be real effective too! As can a hard squeeze and twist or a knee in the nether regions! Take care and thanks for this video!

I have already requested the day after election off from work. I drive about 40 mins on an interstate to a larger city. Im very nervous and my supervisor acted like I was crazy to take that day as a vacation day. Not to me though. I agree that you aren’t going to change anyone’s mind and already in the smaller department I work in of 52 people at a very large warehouse they are asking who I am voting for and arguing with each other. I firmly tell them you shouldn’t ask that politics is not something I can talk here. Either way people there are going to be over the top and I don’t want to deal with it. We are just starting to prep this year for the past few months, and thank you for all your videos!!!! I have learned so much already. Canning, storing and just stocking up on the right stuff we will actually use. You are helping so many with your advice.

I plan to be able to stay in for 3 months, Nov - Feb. Most of my business can be taken care of online, I am retired so I don't have to go out for wor. , I currently have a 3-6 month pantry and am building it up each time I shop.
I have learned as many skills as I can to be able to make or make do for what we need.
I will put in a 3 months supply of pet/animal feed and refill all meds in late October.
The cars will be full of gas and serviced, as will the mechanical systems of the house. I will be sure that the propane will be topped off.
I have solar lights that we can use, we are in a hurricane zone so I keep them all the time anyway. I have inverters that will supply power from the car enough to run the freezer part-time. I want a big honking battery like a Bluetti, but that is not in the budget, so I keep buying canning jars! Shelf Stable!

You realize you have to keep the vehicle running to power the inverter? Running a freezer, even "part time" is asking a lot of most factory installed inverters. I know mine's only rated for 150 watts. That's not near enough to run a freezer compressor,

Re-listened this morning and forwarded. I believe this is an important reminder that I need backups and, in some cases, backups for my backups like I had. I will be doing pantry/cantry audit this week to make list of things I need to buy b4 summer is over. I watched accompanied video for reminders of pantry stock. I loved the reminder "if you don't eat now, you mire than likely will not eat if SHTF."

Excellent advice. It’s very saddening as I have a young teen boy …. I worry alot as he likes to run and do sports and alot of it is on his own and by himself…..crazy crazy world we live in now. I remember the days of getting kicked out of the house to play all day and come home when the street lights came on. Sad
And back then we never locked the car or the house up sometimes not even overnight. Now things are locked all day.
My family moved to southwest Missouri when I was a teenager. I'm now 74 and I still watch what I say - politically, about religion & any other thing that might just smack of being a liberal. That's the main reason we moved to the country. We don't like to argue or be angry about things we have very little control over. Sadly that's what we run into if we do say anything.
We rarely (Dr., groceries, occasionally out to eat) go out these days. We have a few close friends who shares our values that socialize with but even those are more spaced out than it used to be.
I have been stocking up for about a year now. About all we need now is more dog food to stash and batteries.
There are so many things going on, not just in the U.S. but around the world also.
I've found the only way we can stay sane in these crazy days are to play music, sit out on our front porch, watch the leaves of the trees that surround us dance in the breeze and find the humor in anything we can.
I do have one suggestion, smile. Smiling at strangers helps relieve anger & tension and makes us feel happier. Sounds too simple but I've found it always works for me.
