Cycling in Rwanda is dreamy. The landscapes are stunning, the roads are safe, and there's always a pack of jolly kids chasing you down. This video is a full length version of my experience on the Congo Nile Trail which runs along the shores of Lake Kivu. It's 280km long (170 miles).

I'm still in touch with Cali, he's doing great and LOVING his Priority 600x. This will forever be one of the most exiting short adventures of my life.
This looked so cool the first time I watched it 🎉 Well that's 6 Hours of my Sunday gone catching up on all your vids i saved 😂😂 thanks Duzerman 🙏
I think the kids love to run after you because they can sense your positive energy!
Maybe so, and then I feed off their energy. So fun!
This one is my favorite Ryan. Rwanda, which I visit twice by bike, is a real sunshine. There is nothing better, and now you know why Africa is such a treasure. Thx.
A treasure indeed!! Such a magical place
Watched this recently and my mind was filled with a number of deep thoughts about you, about travel, about poverty, about gratitude, then this morning heading down Olde Stage with my spouse a little after 10am I had this feeling you were nearby… and as we crossed Broadway on Lee Hill I saw a guy ride the opposite direction with a bright orange and white helmet that looked like you - whether it was or wasn’t doesn’t matter, it made me smile.
I hope to meet and chat with you someday! Don’t ever hesitate to get my attention when you see me on the roads (or trails). Cheers!
The kids just make me smile!
Ryan, Thank you so much for sharing this video. It was lovely!!
Wow, Rwanda is beautiful! some of the nicest scenery I've seen! Never thought it was that nice! Thanks for having an awesome trip and bringing us along!
Love your videos dude!! You inspired me to bike everywhere and quit smoking cigarettes too!! Hope to see ya around Boulder one day.
That's awesome, way to go! Hope to see you too!
I watched this series when you originally posted it, and watched the extended cut here because the energy here is so incredibly infectious. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! You are so right, the energy in Rwanda is incredible
What a beautiful country!
It sure is!
❤❤❤❤❤ Rwanda country welcome friends of people..
Rwanda would never have made it to the list of my dream destinations, but after this video, it now at the top.
I hear you! I didn’t know much about it before I went. Such an amazing country!
❤❤❤❤❤ welcome I'm my country Rwanda .. welcome again friends of sports
Your films continue to inspire and uplift me. In a world where negative stories, conflict and division are pushed as the norm, it’s so vital to see the best of humanity. And all at 15mph. You are a great ambassador for cycling but also for the power of kindness and mutual respect. If you ever come to the UK (GB Divide maybe), I’d love to ride with you. Adventure with a capital A!
Thank you! I’d love to ride the GB divide someday, it’s high on my list. I hope that you have a great summer of adventures ahead of you
I loved this one. Such fun with the kids!
The kids made it extra special
Such a pleasure reliving this one in extended cut. I've never wanted to travel to Africa more in my life! (plus, you could barely see the film crew 🤣)
haha, the film crew were hidden deep in the rainforest :)
Wow!!!! I'm jealous! ;)
I ran into Ryan last night in Boulder at Buddha Thai Cuisine! What up Ryan! You are the best. This trip looks amazing! I visited Uganda and Rwanda in 2008, exploring the area by bike looks the best way to do it though. So beautiful. The kids are so friendly!
My man!! It was so fun to meet you last night, I’m glad that you said hello! And you’re right, the kids are so friendly and FUN! Have an awesome summer
It's so beautiful there Ryan. You are so lucky. Beautiful country and beautiful people. The people are so open and engaging because they aren't hiding behind cell phones and devices. They are so kind, helpful, considerate. The children are precious as well. This is living dude and I know you love it. I love riding and always have too. But my riding in where we live in the city. I would always rather be biking than on a bus, in a car or walking. My knee is constantly needing draining and dealing with but I am also a serious biker. Stay safe Ryan, love ya man, stay safe.
I hear you on all this! I’d always rather be biking. Happy trails to you, I hope that your knee isn’t too painful
@@duzer Thank You Ryan, and have the best and safest of journeys.
Awesome as ever. As I am watching this, it just dawned on me that not only is this a great bike trail and adventure but you have also captured whole heap of economic activities and time stamped it. Given the pace of change in Rawanda it would be great project to revisit every 5years to see how it changes.
Wow 🇷🇼🇷🇼🥰🥰🥰🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a treat, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this video ❤
Loved the original videos and loved this version just as much💕What stunning views and lovely kids!. Hardcore single track right there, thank goodness you had support vehicle to carry your gear!👍
Thanks for watching this version. It was such an incredible experience
Africa is amazing! Your video captures perfectly the MTB experience you will have riding in Africa. In 2021, we did the Tour of Kilimanjaro and even got to ride up to the Shira Plateau, the very next year returned to climb to the summit of Uhuru. Rwanda looks to be amazing as a bike destination.
That sounds incredible!!!
The Heart of Africa: The people, the place, its mountains, the coastal wonders, and all the different customs and cultures. I'm glad you were able to enjoy this experience, Ryan. ❤
It was incredible!! I’ll come further south next time and visit you
Talk 'bout Adventure!
Thank you amigos, for bringing us along!
Thanks for watching!
I've been to Tanzania to climb Kilimanjaro, and now adding bike trek in Rwanda to the list.
It’s worth a swing over to Rwanda!
Hugs. Doing 50 on the trainer today thanks for the great adventure again while i spin.
Enjoy those indoor miles! It’ll be warm soon enough for outdoor adventures
@duzer have to get the training in however I can. As a caregiver, it is easier indoors. No complaints, tho cause you have lots of videos to watch. ;-)
Ryan I love that you attack life in a fearless way. Your only weapon....a smile. Thanks for sharing this journey!!!
As Elf says, “smiling is my favorite” 😂😂
@@duzer The Big Island of Hawaii.... now THAT is an adventure that I hope you'll do in the future!!!
YOU ARE TRULY LIVING!! WOW!!! Just WOW!!!! You get one go at this thing called life and wow Ryan you are making the most of it! THANK YOU for sharing with us!!! 💙💙💙💙💙
I'm trying my best, that's for sure! Thanks for watching
Enjoyed this edit 🤟
Appreciate it. I loved putting it together
I got excited at that stone slab paving, how natural❤
Very cool
Super beautiful journey through the Congo, , , thanks for sharing Ryan!!! (and Cali)...
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m only 3 min into the video and I’m so glad to be taken on this journey once again! Thoroughly enjoyed the first videos and thus I’m joining you on this clip! Just watched an Overland Expedition series on a trip to Africa. We hear so much negativity about Africa but the reality you boys bring back from actual experiences paint a much different picture. It’s on my bucket list!
Thanks for tuning in again! There’s a lot of negative media about Africa in general. This trip gave me a much different perspective
What great re-boot of the Rwandan series.. I just love this series Ryan❤
.. maybe one day Cali miggt do an adventure ride in Colorado 😊
I’d love to get him out here someday!
I remeber the video that you gave this man your bike, thank you for all the videos Ryan and greetings from the Netherlands.
And he’s still riding it!!
I didn't watch the Africa series because I didn't have time at the time, but I was happy to watch this one. I like these extended cuts. It feels rich. More immersive?
I’m glad that you enjoyed this version, I agree, it does feel a bit more immersive
Yay… a replay❤. Have you heard from Cali… do you keep up with him?
I do, he's doing GREAT!
You have a great tour guide.. could that been done with a Garmin..? Cheeze and tomato was a favorite..
Sure is an amazing place! And so many friendly people. :D Good luck Muzungu!
Some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met!
The kids were so cute and friendly ❤
They are adorable
Beautiful place to mtb ❤
It really is!
Colorado has lions man. Almost got ate!
For ultracyclists: there's also a beautiful Race Around Rwanda ;-)
I wanna do that someday
This is one of your best videos so far thank you
did you see any lions or elephants?
I didn’t see lions, but saw plenty of elephants on our safari in Akagera National park
I fully want to do this (later) and at the very least financially help this person, the organization, and frankly every person in this video in anyway I can. I also want to experience it but may never actually do that and that is fine.
Is it doable to cycle from Gisenyi to Kibuye in 1 day?
did you see any Theobroma Cacao trees?
Sam says: “I like this one more because of all the kids.”
Give Sam a high five from me!
Welcome to Africa 😅
Thank you!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi, i saw your video about PRK. U had any problems??
Nope, I’m good!
I would be worried about bandits hid along the roads . One needs a guide and security detail so I wouldn't think of doing it alone . A smile is always the best way to break the ice when meeting foreigners.
Rwanda is very safe, I don’t hear of much crime there, and never felt in danger.
When you gonna do a super cut of ragbrai 50 with all the extra footage you didn’t use
I should!
I was just watching the news. I understand Denver has recently received a large number of migrants. You must be happy since you have been supporting this for years. I’m sure you’re making a particular impact with your language skills and upbeat attitude. Now that you own a home, I would imagine you’ll be welcoming some of these nice folks to come live you. I think there could be some great videos created from this experience. I look forward to seeing them!
Bet you didn’t miss lubing chains lol
Haha, these chains got pretty grimy in all that rain ;)
How is John and mira? SJ
They’re great!!
you always surprise me in a good way , we need more like u in leadership , but that would probably ruin you
Maybe someday, I was senior class president after all ;)
@@duzer i have no shame in saying this , but your just being you , is heart warming truly , its tells more carecter in my eys than anything that some one can Try and be , YOU ARE ! you have my vote all day .
Do a wheelie
Haha, I need to put in a lot more hours practicing
you make me wan't to go there
It’s a incredible place
YEGO, AMAKURU, MWARAMUTSE, Which means: Where is Amelia Boon?🤔
Haha, are you sure? ;) She’s doing great by the way
❤❤❤ yego .amakuru..mwaramutse.. turabakunda ..
Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.
