This is a series about bikepacking from Santa Fe to Las Cruces on the New Mexico Off Road Runner. We pedaled up high into the mountains and got snowed on, met lots of wonderful humans, and finished off in the hot desert near Las Cruces. For u Ryan I'm always in tune of your channel
Hey Ryan, Watching along, and seeing these barbwire fences. Why is there barbwire fences in this desert Ryan? Hope you guys have an awesome ride. Thank you!
Barbwire fencing = Cattle
No crashiessss, no wammies, no flatties!
ALWAYS!
My son and I bikepacked the northern half of the NM off road runner when he was 8 years old (4 years ago). I watched this with him tonight and it brought back some great memories, he could name all the roads in the video.
That’s awesome!! What a champ your son is!
@@duzerThanks! He 'trained' by riding a very heavy single speed kids bike to school and back every day all year. We'll be watching more episodes, riding through the Manzano mountains on FR 253/422 was our favorite section.
"I love the desert". I truly believe you are the reincarnated soul of Everett Ruess.
I just checked. I'm subscribed. All notifications on. And I always need to go search your videos. I never get the notifications. It makes me mad cause I fell how much effort you make to put such a quality content on TH-cam.
I appreciate you checking...I don't understand why TH-cam would make it so hard for subscribers to find my videos, it's maddening! Thanks for sticking with me!
@@duzer Hmmm, same for me. I'm subscribed with notifications turned on. I get notified for most, but every once in awhile, one of your videos simply doesn't even show up in my feed. (This one being an example). Very strange.
Me as well too.I get most notifications but not all. Since I know you release videos on Sunday I just always check to see if a new one has come put as I can't any!! You're the BEST!!
Us as well...just double checked and we have the bell checked and we also didn't get a notification in our subscription feed..waves high from Ontario
Another data point: I am subscribed, but this video does not show up in my 'All Subscriptions' feed. The "We're Releasing a NEW Bikepacking Bike!" short does appear, though. I only realized this video was out because it appeared in my Recommendations feed.
I am from NM and miss riding thru the desert landscapes, the thing I liked about NM is the spirituality of the landscapes.
I agree with you, there’s something magical out there
Found you via Bike Touring Mike now I'm hooked! Love your positivity!!!!
Awesome! I love that guy. Thanks for taking a chance on my videos
Ryan, your companion on this adventure is aaaaalmost as amazing as you are 🤪 You guys radiate with positivity, Great video! I have enjoyed every second of it!!! Mutch love and respect Brother, keep up a good work ❤✌️😁
Thanks so much, he’s a blast to travel with!
You two together are a match made in heaven!
I finally found my one true Viking 😂😂
Oh, I can smell it like it was yesterday. Love the smell of the desert: dust and juniper
So good!
Ryan, as I have said before........I don't really care for the desert, but I love watching any bike adventure you're on! Yeah, your videos are that good! DD
Thanks, my friend. Next episode is mostly in the forest
My pops was a marine in Vietnam. First to go in last to go out.👍💯
I totally agree about those fig bars! I take them on every ride. . The brownie flavor and strawberry are my favorites.
Oooh, I gotta try brownie flavor!
Haha I LOVE pineapple on pizza!!! Thank you Viking for your service!!!! ❤🤍💙
I do too, but not old pineapple 😂😂
Duzer’s best cinematography yet. You brought us right along with you and the Viking. Amazing!!!
Hey thanks!! Appreciate you taking the time to check this out
Another fantastic adventure! Sadly I'm back on the couch for a bit, healing 4 broken ribs and dreaming of my own future bike adventures when the time is right 👍.
Oh no!! I hope that you’re healing up comfortably. I’m sending a hug your way
Awesome scenery! Thank you so much Ryan and Mr. Biking-Viking, for this awesome journey taken. Good luck traveling!
Glad you enjoyed it! Much more to come
Your sturdy and experienced pedals have defeated this strong wind! Congratulations!🤠🤠🤠
I guess I’m kinda used to it by now 😂😂
The wind reminds me of your ride, again, through New Mexico when the Navajo family saved your butt, and you shared their story. One of your best! I'm also going to say that you didn't eat enough "real" food. 🙂
Yeah, NM is known for nasty spring winds! I’ll never forget meeting that family
Love you so much. You are so inspiring looking forward to Ragbrai 2024. Duzer Team!!!!!
We’re gonna have so much fun!!
So I’ve been watching a long time… and your videos ARE inspiring and I say that in sincerity not fluff. I have to admit, and I enjoy all your videos, that the series where you have one or more companion are the best. People bring you up and it shows in these videos. Also very much enjoy the har head in your video. From an army Vet to a marine vet “try not to eat your crayons brother”. You are representing well all kidding aside.
Thanks!! I appreciate your feedback, I enjoy the camaraderie, especially this goofball Viking 😂
I have my notifications on and I still am not getting notified. TH-cam is the worst!
Thank you for your service SIR!!
I live ten miles from Moriarty, NM and I am incredibly sad and ashamed that Cuervo Mountain RV Park turned you away, and that you had to resort to Taco Bell (which should be illegal in NM). I hope the rest of New Mexico treats you better!
I couldn’t believe it, never had an RV park deny me. As for Taco Bell, it was kinda late and most of the local restaurants were closed. Don’t worry, I still love NM
Funny video! 😅 Let's see the next ones!
Glad you liked it!! Stay tuned for more
Ryan, for some reason this video did not show up in my subscription feed even though I've been a subscriber for well over a year. I just now saw it as a suggested video in my "home" tab. Do you know why? Glad I caught it.
Hi Ryan you say that your ole ole socks are made in the USA but you might find that the Merino wool is grown right here in New Zealand so next time you promote your socks can you give NZ a shout out for growing the wool. Loving your videos i especially love your trip through Sweden, if you ever are going to do another big trip abroad you might want to consider New Zealand we have some fantastic routes like the tour Aotearoa which is 3000km (1865 miles) from the top of the country to the bottom. hope to see you in NZ one day.
Cheers
Chris
You are right!! I should give a shout out to ol NZ!! I’d love to ride over there someday, it’s high on my list!! Cheers
Noticed here in UK we call it "Bonking" the total loss of energy after a long ride if not fuelled correctly.
Yep! That’s what happened to me (and we call it that too)
Didn't love your duzerito recipe ,but i love tuning into your content keep up the quality work!
Beans. Tortilla. Hot sauce. Yum 😂
Glad to see you both out there again. Can't wait to see the new bike specs. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
More to come!
Another inspiring video, thanks
A new Duzer series, Sunday evenings are back to normal😁Awesome first episode, having 2 larger than life characters together will be loud😂but inspiring for sure😊Amazing effort in those winds👍
Can wait to hear about the new bike 👍
I can't wait to hear more on this new bike, hopefully it will be that color!🔥
Excited for the series!
“This looks like the start of a great friendship..”. -Rick (maybe). Great video Ryan! Nicely curated. Like riding into a headwind, harder than it looks! Thanks.
Thank you!! Putting together these videos is definitely time consuming, but it’s fun to flex the creative muscles
That looks like a beautiful place to ride, and much more accessible than going over borders.
Thanks for making my day with your video!
Oh wow!!! Thank you so much for your generosity!!!
Oh snap, New Mexico series! Lets go!
Boom!! It’s time
Hey Ryan, really great video with Thomas. I'm off next week to Spain, doing my first lomg distance unsupported bike trip of about 700 kms departing from Burgos in Notthern Spain, riding down to Valencia on the Mediterranean coast. Don't think I would have done this without your inspiration.
That sounds amazing!!! Have a blast out there
@@duzer keep you posted, it is an epic for sure!
Great content as usual RVD and JAVA! Tks
Glad you liked it! More to come
Always look forward to the great travel videos, looking forward to the John Ryan and star ⭐️ MIRA adventure, the way you video Mira running backwards is hilarious, get in touch and fly down there, that last adventure in those mountains were spectacular
Love it Ryan keep them coming
You know it!!
Fabulous!! I bet those Junipers smelled amazing!! All senses engaged!!! Thanks again.. Santa Fe Ole!!!
They sure did!!!
Thanks!
Love this, looking forward to this series.
Glad to hear it! Lots more to come
@@duzer I love the colour of the bike. Blue is my favorite colour.
Great stuff, love the energy of you two.
Thanks so much!
What a great journey! Beautiful scenery and so much fun times!👌❤😄 Looking forward to the next episode...
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have been watching your videos for a while. I really enjoy your kind spirit and you are so genuine. Thank you for sharing your bike adventures! I’m a cyclist and I hope to ride some of the trails you have someday.
Great ride! As always love watching your videos! That’s a heck of a travel companion!!! And you’ve got the BIVO bottles-awesome! I love em!
The Bivo bottles are sweet!
What a great day and a really good trail partner. Take care, Al
Yes it was! He’s so much fun
What an awesome adventure to share with a friend! You are so blessed 💗
It really is!
My state! I love riding old double track through the P&J (piñon and juniper) forests. I was out there today.
And yes, the winds have been bonkers lately.
Great to see you back on the road again! Hopefully you'll feel better. I've found that taking isotonic drink with me on a tour helps replenish the electrolytes very well!
So awesome! I live in Taos NM, ive been wanting to do this route! Looking forward to more!
Taos is so beautiful!!
Great video! NM is on my bucket list
It’s a beautiful state!
Awesome Ryan love this mate
Thanks!!
Jabba, thank you for your service.
That guy’s Popeye laugh made the whole video couldn’t stop laughing after that
He spreads a lot of joy with that laugh 😂
"alternative transportation"? We just call that transportation! 😀
I wish taking the bus was easier and more mainstream in the U.S. :(
@@duzer I hear you. I'm from Aus, but looking to ride some routes in the US soon. Its hard to plan how to get to the locations in the first place (assuming no car).
Awesome! A lot of people think the desert is just dry hot sand. But it’s much more diverse, at least the deserts in our country. Good times. Thanks for the smiles 😘
So true! Fun fact, the Chihuahuas desert is the most biodiverse area of land in North America
Watching from the Philippines... As Always ❤❤❤ I love the energy... Waiting for the next Part :)
Yay! Thank you!
Love the show. Keep it up
Appreciate it! I will
Dude is living the dream 👍💯💯👍👍👍💯
I’m trying ;)
Oh man, I can't wait to settle in and enjoy the adventures of Duzer and Jabba! This is gonna be an awesome series!
No alligators though…😂😂😂
@@duzer desert gators are way smaller 🐊
Oh! How I love my O Fair New Mexico!
It’s magical
Viking is awesome. You are awesome. Great vid
Thank you kindly
I would love to this it looks like fun
Two crazy guys in the desert 🤔🤯. Thanks for sharing this with us. Very fun.
Glad you enjoyed it, more to come!
These dudes are so cool.
The coolest!
I ride the rail trail to the farmers market in Santa Fe every Saturday! If you are ever in Santa Fe again it would be awesome to ride or host you! Love them beans!
Oooh! I bet the farmers market is great in Santa Fe
you were in my backyard! Love this!
I love your backyard!
I so enjoy watching these. adventures, knowing that in another four years or so I'll be able to start taking my boys on longer adventure rides to explore America. I also love seeing the setup you're running from Priority because 12k XC bikes aren't a real option with seven people in the family.
Falcor!!!! 🤍🤍🤍
My favorite luck dragon
I feel duped. I just got a 600x, and now you are bringing out a new and improved version! 😮
The new version isn’t massively different, your 600x is awesome, and you got that 600x for a great price ;)
@@duzer What flat peddles do you use.
The Duzer in my back yard, and I didn't even hear him passing through! Rail trail! Glorieta Mesa! White Lakes Rd! NM41 south!
Nice to see my home state while I sit in my office in a Tokyo high-rise. I'm looking forward to returning to New Mexico for a week later this month, and hopefully get some time to do a little cycling.
I love your state!
Interesting that it was your first rejection from an RV park. When Leon and I cycled from Ontario, Canada to New Orleans, Louisiana we were rejected from every RV park we tried except one.
Wow! Maybe they’re changing their ways. Bummer :(
Arizona
I just pedaled from ABQ to moriarty and back to ABQ the same day on old route 66 east but it was sketchy on that two-way old 66 highway! Vehicles get close. I'll have to do this route one day. Looks fun. I'll take the rail runner to SF from ABQ to start in SF.
I hope that you make it happen someday, it’s a great route. Happy trails!
Bonkity bonk bonk. As someone who has seen you both in real life and in many a video, you looked haggard at the end there, my man. Maybe not Merle Haggard haggard, but haggard nonetheless. Taco Bell to the rescue! Great new compadre. Love the buddy adventures. Looking forward to more.
Horned lizards do live in western CO, also one of my favorites!
Good to know!!!
Hey Ryan, love your attitude when you’re challenged! Just attempted the Monuments Loop. Made it to Hatch on first day, some how. I did not feel good, like not hungry feeling bad crap. Decided to pack it in and try another day. New Mexico desert is beautiful, however, the sand and baby head rocks on the trails make some VERY tough riding.
That section out of Radium Springs is tough, I felt like poo on my first day getting to Hatch as well. Hope you take another crack at it
Tell your buddy that that water filter he has those bags go bad fast so what he can replace it with is the ice drink bottle's and poke a hole in the bottle toward the bottom of the bottle u can plug the hole with your thumb
Looking forward to viewing the awesomeness.
Edit: The Neverending Story is a classic
It’s one of my favorite movies ever!
@duzer Yezzir. Loved those adventure type films when growing up. Nothing wrong with being a dork at all.
Weather seems beautiful in NM it seems. Looks like a fun trip. While I am more interested in Priority Gemini, the new bike color you have is beautiful!
The Gemini is a sweeet bike!!!
@@duzer looking forward to see you introduce both the gemini and the new bike you are riding here.
Itz kewl to see how you secure your water bottles with hose clamps on the suspension fork... I used a pair of old lizard skin grips underneath the clamps...:)
I put pieces of old tubes under the clamps, works great
The Hiking Viking???
Shouldn't it be the
Hiking Biking Viking 🤔
Rock solid 💪👍🏆
☮️
Indeed!! He’s slowly morphing into the Biking Viking ;)
I missed this video.
Pineapple on pizza for the win, Viking!
😂😂
Är det tillåtet att campa i det vilda i new Mexico?
Are those the new Walmart Ozark Trail bikes? Nice !
You know it! ;)
Falcooooor
My favorite dragon ;)
Absolutely love your videos. But friends, please don't let friends film vertical 🤣
Haha!! All his content goes on IG, so he’s a vertical guy 😂
Thanks Ryan...like starting my week watching one of your videos. You may eventually convince me to sell my road bike and go full gravel.
I like being on dirt, much fewer cars on those roads
Hey Jabba! Which type of fork pack/bottle are you using? It looks like oveja negra but what are those? Cheers
The oveja negra bootleggers!
My sister lives in Las Cruces, and she calls April the windy season.
I found out the hard way 😂😂
I love Taco Bell, especially after a long run or endurance effort. Delish!
Thank you!!! So many people love to make fun of TBell 😂😂
I could not find a way to avoid good and services for some reason on paypal. Thank you for all the great videos! What is the busline you used? Have a great day
How it has not occurred to me that you are on Strava is just in just a mystery!
