Did this at the same time as the GMBN guys and saw them at Coed-y-Brenin. The weather was rough - all credit for doing it in three days.

I don't like hills. The head is willing the legs not so much
plan is to trailblaze a 150-250km high route around jotunheimen, the highest peaks in scandinavia, never been done before so lets see how it turns out. full power EMTB with 2x batteries

I agree except they are not on mountain bikes.
Niel and Blake please remember to keep to marked trails and roads - what you did at 7.06 (on a high torque ebike) might be more fun than the road descent but it will tear up the grass and wet ground! This sort of stuff gets us MTBers in trouble!

Nice journey guys. Another for your tick list thats highly recommened would be the Badger Divide from Glasgow to Inverness or the reverse of it. Take you through some the most stunning scenery in the UK. Similarly would be Glasgow to Inverness along West Highland way into fort William then along the great glen way into Inverness.

Love it. The Canyon SL looks so good! The only downside of my Heckler SL is there is no range extender (yet).. These kinds of trips look amazingly fun.. Would def be a logistical nightmare though without support... Anything that can happen probably will lol.

I thought we'd had a lot of rain when we rode the route, but you guys seem to have outdone us! It's a great route, brutal and rewarding in equal measure. 10/10 would recommend.

@@gmbn I've an EMTB was on the emtb channel last week in cool places we have some epic rides like on your video today here in Ireland
Do the hotels let you take the bikes in for charging? The only thing that puts me off is non-removable batts. I go away a lot with the bike, I do have a solar panel and battery power block, but I'm not sure it would keep up with usage if I left it charging in the van.
I'm doing this adventure ride in a couple of weeks. Taking 4 days over roughly the same route , from Machynlleth to Conwy castle. Looks t be epic.

I got excited when you guys said it was around 16kgs. I have looked at the new pages on Canyons' site and it is 19.9kgs listed weight and the cheaper models 20.9 kgs. Quite a big discrepancy. Anyway it is all moot for me as Canyon don't seem to be listing them for sale in Australia. Austria maybe, but Australia - not.
great video guys although there was a much more fun route to be had once you where near bethesda, stretches from llanllechid over towards foel fras, dropping down to drum taking a right at the bottom making your way over to tal y fan then either take a right past an acient church down the pilgrims route dropping into the town of Rowen or from tal y fan continue on old roman road which has an awesome descent towards sycnant pass crossing the road to head over the top of the conwy mountain dropping down another awesome descent onto the road for 5 mins which leads to the harbour in conwy (shown in your video)
Nice work lads, this route is going to get a reputation though. It was sleet for the second day of my official Cycling UK guide ride video, couldn't feel my legs from Betws to Conwy on the second day 🥶

Could this route be done on non electric hard tails or gravel bikes with thicker tyres?
Yes, for sure. It's not very technical, whereas on the Trans Cambrian, much more off road / gravelly. 👍
People do this route on HT and FS MTBs as well as gravel bikes, emtbs are not essential regardless what the industry tells you.
I definitely wanna see more of adventures with a bunch more bags on the bikes ;) Just a shame you cant get "the bundle of joy" Martyn to tag along...
I have a few overnighters planned in my local area, nothing fancy though.
I'm doing this in July this year on my Nukeproof Scout. As part of a supported group ride. Have to say I'm nervous/excited in equal measures. Hope we get better weather than Neil & Blake had. 😀

Could make it extra epic by doing the trail centres along the way. Climax, Coedy, Marin. I think Mtb Wales guides do this?
How would you do it propose to do it without a support vehicle. A relay in morning? Was charging the batteries successfully at places you stayed?

Good looking bike, but how much would it weigh with a 38 fork, piggyback shock, enduro wheelset and double down tyres with inserts? And that’s not even mentioning the 400wh battery that was available on ebikes 7 years ago.
Sorry Neil but you say the bike is near 16kg. Just checked the website and the lightest version is not even under 19kg? That's quite a difference! Are getting mixed ypvwith the Whyte ELyte xc version?

Great video guys. The finish is Conwy not Llandudno Junction, that’s over the estuary. We did it over two days on non e-bikes and had a mix of weather. Superb route indeed.
Mud guards on the rear would be worth the weight
