I had to remove my Belkin InvisGlass Ultra comparison in the video but here's why the Whitestone Dome Glass is better:
    1. Once you buy the Dome glass, you can buy replacement glass and adhesive for $15 bucks. If you break the InvsiGlass, you get to replace it by buying another one.
    2. The Dome glass is 50% thicker when compared to the InvisGlass. More glass means more protection and that extra thickness isn’t noticeable because of the fit.
Basically if you break your screen once, the Whitestone Dome Glass is going to be cheaper overall.

MobileReviewsEh how hard did you find it to be to get it perfectly aligned and without any dust under it?
I’ve used alignment tools before and they still don’t come out perfect and I’ve never gotten no dust under the screen. Belkin/apple’s installation fixed both of those, but I like the sound of the fit of this one better and mine is cracked.

I also heard that belkin admitted that early invisiglass products were overly fragile and that the newer version is better. Curious if you’ve heard this and tested any differences?

Best and most thorough product reviews I've seen in a long time. And yet at the same time you give off that vibe of just being a normal nice guy that used these things. The small bits of humor and the overall tone almost entirely removes the very commercial aspect that most other tech/product reviews have, and I love that fact. I love it man. Keep up the great work. Subbed👍

My concern with this is if you remove it getting the glue off your phone screen. Looked like the glue left a nasty residue on the screen. Was it hard to get the glue off after you removed it? Noticed they also don't have this for the xs max...

Every time I've ever cracked a phone screen badly, it was on gravel like your river rock experiment. My Whitestone Dome Glass is out for delivery for my Note 20 Ultra (good thing about older phones, the 2-pack dome was $35) so I'll let you know how it goes. Great video, by the way.

What was the distance of drop to reach the corner of the chair? What was the distance of drop to reach the river rock? I guess difference in drop distance makes a difference, or maybe there was a really sharp rock and many rocks have many "pyramid corners shape" have more chances of causing crack.

    Aaron....couple things...
    a. The peanut butter analogy: best....thing....ever, kinda made me hungry. I may or may not have had a midnight snack piece of toast with butter and almond butter (mine looked much more appealing than yours)
    2. No. I wouldn’t spend $50 on this screen protector. I’d like to think I might use it to repair a broken screen, but in all reality, I’d probably just spend a bit more and get the screen replaced.
    3. (Ok, more than a couple) I love your videos! I used to be a BlackBerry user (before the demise) and was very very “into” BB tech and reviews of every product and device I could try as well as installing leaked OS, etc....
Your channel fills in some of the broken places in my heart from missing the BB Community ♥️
    Keep up the good work!

I just bought the iPhone 11 version after googling and seeing that "perfect fit" image you talked about. I'm glad that I ended up going with it, even though I'm seeing this review after the case. The cost worried me but I decided the installation video I found on TH-cam detailed the process enough to risk it.

I’ve went through two of the dome glass protectors and like you said the lint builds up around the edges. With a black device it is quite noticeable. Precision is one of my pet pevs and believe it or not I’ve had INCREDIBLE success with the Spigen 360 case as an installation guide for the iPhone X. Surprisingly the protector that came with that case is my favorite.

Aaron how is the olephobic coating on the white dome? I find with most "good" tempered glass screen protectors the olephobic coating only lasts about 3 months. One of the reasons I hate buying screen protectors you have to replace them every 3 months. Do you think it is better on this one?

These are the best screen protectors for curved glass. I just got one for my Note 10 plus after a year of not having a screen protector on it. It is curved perfectly to fit the screen, and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor still works, (although it's a bit slower). It's a must for Samsung users.
It also filled a year of scratches on my screen. Even some deeper ones I thought would show through.

I actually bought a set for myself two years ago for my Galaxy S9+ and recommended it to my friend who has a Note 9. I hated the screen protectors that had black edges to hide the glue, I just thought it was corny. I have dropped my phone dozens of times, and it finally bit the dust when I dropped it on some gravel. I also use a case, so I know that helps. But I've never had any deep scratches on the protector or damage to my screen, so I would say they are certainly worth the time and money you put into it. My only issue is some places started to look "veiny" after a while, and I think it was because of the LED notification light. Can't swear to it, but mine and my friends did the same thing. But I 100% would buy again!

Thank you so much for reviewing this product! It's exactly what I've been looking for, a protector that almost goes edge to edge but leaves space for a case if needed and that has adhesive that goes all the way to the edge of the protector unlike all the other edge to edge ones.
Unfortunately they don't make them for the XS Max yet which is what I have. Hopefully they release them soon. In the meantime I'm using the MaxxBoost glass protectors which I've found to be the best quality of all the ones I've tried, I just wish it covered a little bit more of the screen.
Thanks again from a new subscriber!

To answer your question my last phone was a Galaxy Note 8, and I went through about 3 of these. They kept breaking from random things. I don't think I'm hard on my phone, maybe I'm wrong.... - But yeah, I loved the way they looked and felt once installed. But I didn't like that it kept breaking, and having to drop another $50 every time to replace... I switched to the RhinoShield. It's nowhere near as nice of a look or feel. But it takes a beating, and doesn't break. And can protect the phone way better.

Firstly I'd like to thank you for this review. Would it be possible for you to give a comparison between this and the Flo Lab?
Additionally, I have found an alternative LOCA based tempered glass screen protector, and wondered if you could do a review on it, and compare it to the Whitestone Dome and the Flo Lab, as most of the reviews I see seem to be written by the company, and although blatantly by them, they're written in the style of a customer review. The company in question is SGFreshIdea and the product is their InvisShield Tru Fit

I wonder about the adhesive getting into the ear piece and muffling sound.. a amazon reviewer says that the adhesive got into the ear piece and is muffled the sound now.
I also notice that on the galaxy line phones they supply a sticker that covers the ear piece on during install on Samsung’s. I understand that this not possible with the design of the screen protector on the iPhone 6-8 models.. just wondering if there’s a chance of sound getting muffled in ear piece... please chime in and let me know your thoughts on this as u have already gone thru it.. I’m liking the screen protector.. for me it annoying seeing the edges of my screen protectors has no glue around the edges.. thanks!

In my experience, the alcohol wipes removed my oleophobic coating, as well as peeling it off from the phone. So when I tried to reapply a new one on my screen, the adhesive did not bubble properly, and therefore did not apply and left bubbles and stuff all over it. It used to be the only decent one for the galaxies due to the curved screen, but zagg is better in my experience with their new products

The only reason I bought the belkin invisiglass was the Apple installation with Belkins special alignment tool. It was the only way I was able to get a screen protector installed that was *perfectly* centered and had absolutely zero dust/particles under it which was next to impossible to get myself.
However, I accidentally dropped my phone off a chair onto tile with only a super thin totallee case on it and it put two cracks in the screen protector. It doesn’t look bad most of the time, but I do want to replace it and this sounds a lot better, I’m just concerned about not having anywhere to install it that’s dust free enough to get a good installation and there’s usually no way to reinstall these things. If you screw it up you have to buy another one. At least this is cheaper in that regard, but idk. Might be worth just doing another belkin one.

I did, for my Note 8 because those screen protectors are made for curved screens but for iphone x, rhinoshield protected my phone against a 10 ft drop and apple had to replace it coz the internals got screwed up. I wouldn't use that one on a flat screen coz when it breaks, what happens to the glue? eh? :D

The glue adheres to the glass and not the iPhone. However, the iPhone 8 Plus test was brutal 1/2 the adhesive didn't stick to the underside of the glass (because of the existing adhesive). It took a lot of elbow grease to remove the adhesive on the screen.

Hi, thanks for the great review. Does anyone know if you can easily see through this screen protector with polarized sunglasses? I had to remove another brand of glass screen protector from my phone because it was extremely hard to see what was on the phone's screen when wearing sunglasses outside. It was causing some type of weird glare. It was definitely the screen protector causing this problem because once I removed it, I could easily read my phone screen again. Let me know.
    Thanks, Tony

Screen protector is a must when it come to the IPhone X, My screen exploded from a table height fall, mind you that it was in a otterbox and it fell flat on its back, energy transfer can be weird sometimes lol

Do you think this would work on the Galaxy S 9 Plus?

    • @MobileReviewsEh
      @MobileReviewsEh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

It will work very well with the S9. The liquid adhesive is going to be awesome for the curved edges.

Finally a REAL REVIEW of Whitestone Dome !
I am so looking forward for this !
Already buy it cause i'm really curious for this tempered glass (expensive as hell)..
Apply it on my iphone x and (ex) samsung galaxy s9+, yet the result on galaxy s9+ is wayy better cause the glue is attached perfectly on the edge as well..
The strength? I never tried it, but your video gave me a good confident of dropping my phone..
Thank you so much for the REAL REVIEW..
P.S. say hi to Morty from me, he is really adorable and a good behaving dog

Thanks for the comment! It is pricey...I can totally see the benefit of the adhesive on the curved edges of the Samsung phones.

Excellent review. This may be the first glass screen protector I ever buy. I believe the screen repair cost at Apple is $279 for an iPhone X.

I’ve just got a plastic screen protector and a ultra hybrid spigen case, don’t waste your money guys. I’ve been using the same set up since the iPhone 5s and I’ve not smashed a screen yet. Fingers crossed...

Yes, I would buy this product no problem. My only concern is the installation of it. If I put on incorrectly, I have no way to correct. Thanks for the detailed review 👍🏾👍🏾

I just installed the second one on my iPhone X again and it was really easy after doing it once.

I would spend the money for this since it’s good quality, the replacements are much less expensive, AND it lines up the protector for me. My hands are not steady enough to line up screen protectors very well, and so that is a definite enticement!
