The original O-Clip lives on my neck lanyard for work as a secondary light. Amazing for working in panel boxes. When I picked up the Pro version, the size difference was unexpected. It doesn’t go unnoticed quite like the original one. Yes the Pro is more capable; however, it is sort of cumbersome for the applications I use it for.

There are a few reasons I like the OClip Pro. If you do field work then it’s a good camp light. The flood and red come in handy for food prep, reading or general outside tasks at night. The clip is sturdy attaches to my backpack and vest really well. The final thing is that it has on board USB C charging. I’m not going to carry gear that requires an extra adapter, it’s just too much of a pain. Honestly, I’ve mostly switched to Rovyvon and Acebeam for these types of lights because of the charging issues. My actual preference is for lights with swappable batteries.
What interested me immediately was having direct access to the red light without fumbling around with the double press and getting white light instead. What put me off was having the lanyard hole in the same location as the magnet preventing the ability to have a finger loop in place and using the magnet.
They finally released the Baton 4 charging case as a stand alone. $40 but i got two of them for $24 each in DIY bundle, as my Baton 3 and Perun Mini 2 needed a charging case. I was $1 shy of free shipping, so I got a Open Mini 2 pen/pencil in green for $8.
Good to know they are available again. When the Baton 4 first came out they had some, but I had not seen them for awhile. Of course I wasn't really looking since I had gotten a couple. A good way to upgrade, fit both the Batons and Perun Minis, while getting a battery bank in the bargain which makes the charging case especially worth carrying.
Durability is of course a good feature, but they have built in batteries. Any of the case materials will outlast the battery. At some point the light will only be a knife sharpener.
As you ask at 17 minutes or so. One reason for the Oclip and Oclip Pro is in the name, the clip which is easy to put on and off, and can even be clipped to a finger. So if you had a splinter you needed to illuminate you could clip it to your finger while working to extract it or some other close up fine task. You can clip it to the back of a cap and turn the hat around for an improvised headlamp. The Perun 2 Mini will do that too so not much of an advantage there. Another advantage is the 4 lumen red light which I find very useful. The Perun 2 Mini for some unknown reason only has a very bright 40 lumen setting. I wish the would figure out how to upgrade the firmware to give us that on the Perun 2 Mini. That is about the only con I can think of for the Perun 2 Mini. One advantage, besides the IP rating for the Perun 2 Mini is the timer. This makes it a good nightstand light. I have sleep apnea so turn the 3 minute timer on, take of my glasses, put on the breathing mask, go to bed, and try to fall asleep before the light goes off. It usually goes off before I fall asleep, but it gives me the right idea. ;-)
The two set screws on the weapon light can be used to semi-permanently lock the adjustment in place. If you only use it on one gun you don't need it to move like that.
I carry the regular oclip and love it, was interested in the pro version but that’s a real chonker in comparison. The strength of the clip makes either of them a better choice than the perun imo

The clip pro would be something i picked up if I didnt already have one. Or if the previous one broke. Though the pro does have better runtime/battery stuff. BUT it does also give me pause for buying new things. Like they released the arkfield in two different styles. And I was just like “why not both?!” Then they made the pro version. And im like “oh this is exactly what I was looking for”. Then they came out with the flex. So im like “well now why wouldnt I wait for a flex pro to get everything on the same guy”. I brought the pink clip last month on the fundraising sale. Im not mad about them now just coming out with a strictly better version. The fact it was for the fund raiser makes it sting less.
As far as the Oclip Pro. I’m personally buying it for the red light feature for hiking at night. And for working under sinks and in Air conditioner cabinets at work. The red light doesn’t affect your night vision :)

Edit: A couple thoughts on the Oclip Pro. I did go ahead and order it with one of the aforementioned coupons. As someone who carries the OG around the house on my shirt when I don't have pockets I'm torn. I'm beyond stoked to see the addition of the white flood as well as the brighter red. The throwy nature of the OG kind of drives me up the wall a bit. I'm also glad to see they dumped the CW SST-20 overboard🎉🎉🎉 That guy's nasty green! On the other hand, I'm worried about the size and weight that you and Crispy mentioned, and hoping it's not TOO noticeable.🤞🏻 Anyways, you were comparing it to the Perun. While I don't know numbers off the top of my head, one giant thing comes to mind in favor of the Oclip, even the Pro: price. Also itty bitty size, but at this point you know better if the Pro kicked that advantage out the door.
@efromhb What I've heard is it's a little green, but not too bad. Purely from the numbers I've seen I'm thinking it might be similar to the Warrior Mini 3, but I'm not sure. From my understanding the throw on the Pro is SFT-12, and while I don't know what the flood is, ZeroAir THINKS it's the Osram P9.

Thanks for taking the time to present all this! 2 questions about the Baton 4 in Titanium: 1) can you pocket carry the light out of the case and not worry about it turning on accidentally because of the side mounted switch (especially if there are other items in the same pocket). 2) Since they lowered the high mode to 1100 lumens, do you correspondingly get a slightly longer runtime than the 1300 version on high? My only experience with olight warranty is: I had some how broke the clip on my i3t eos. I fill out a warranty claim, and within the hour I get a email telling me that the warranty does not cover the clip but they give me a link were I can buy the clip for a couple of bucks. Kinda disappointed but I know have like 8 flights in my collection.

So the fighter pilot model is actually a limited edition because on the Olight site it doesn’t mention that like the Arkfeld Pro copper bones. Yes that issue does bother me with my Ark Ultra. So does changing it like you did stay that way or will it change back on its own? I went with the Ultra last event and got the new blue color this time along with the copper bones Pro, it is sharp!

Why did they have to put the cheesy skeleton on there? It would’ve been so dope if it was just that exact finish with those exact colors just without the stupid skeleton. That's what I'm talking about when the battery goes bad, and it will eventually go bad. it's nothing but a paperweight
Well, they designed it as a k ife sharpener to have at least one more function after it is not a light anymore
They have a lifetime warranty for when the battery goes bad after daily use for 2-3 years.

This 'trend' of non replaceable batteries worries me. Also a good idea to get a better file on the mini Sailor, Nextool is not good with those.

The side switch is flush with the body, Ive never had it accidentally turn on. It also does have a lockout feature if you’re still worried about it

What was your point about the triple press for turbo like is there a way to set it to double press for turbo? I need some clarification please
Yea, that's backward from what all the rest normally do. 2 press for turbo, 3 for strobe is the norm.
I have a batton 4 it's less than 6 months old and it doesn't charge in the case anyone its a shame because it's all the flash light you will ever need
