    A cool fact when former vietnam veterans from usa have gone back there they've always been welcome and have even talked to former vietcong and the footage is really wholesome although I'm sure that pilots probably wouldn't be very well received you know due to the bombings in which we managed to somehow drop more bombs on vietnam than the entirety of all the bombs in ww2 excluding Hiroshima and nagasaki

    • @fortis992
      @fortis992 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Vietnam War bombing thus represented at least three times as much (by weight) as both European and
      Pacific theater World War II bombing combined, and about fifteen times total tonnage in the Korean War.
      Given the prewar Vietnamese population of approximately 32 million, U.S. bombing translates into
      hundreds of kilograms of explosives per capita during the conflict. For another comparison, the atomic
      bombs dropped at Hiroshima and Nagasaki had the power of roughly 15,000 and 20,000 tons of TNT,
      respectively (Grolier 1995). Since general purpose bombs - by far the most common type of bomb used
      in Vietnam and in our dataset - are approximately 50% explosive material by weight, each atomic bomb
      translates into roughly 30,000 to 40,000 tons of such munitions. Measured this way, U.S. bombing in
      Indochina represents 100 times the combined impact of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs.

    No... It was not that communism was "a trend", it's just that many nationalists (who didn't support communism) would simply not stand for the South, as they were backed up mainly by France. Most of them saw the US as a new overlord, and them knowing how badly they were treated in French Indochina, they fought for the north. It's a shame how many nationalists got lost in communism during the Cold War; a good example is Castro. He was a cuban nationalist who was even friends with Francisco Franco, but knowing that nationalist inclined ideologies (fascism and such) were in a low, he gave up to the communist madness.

      They sent Half a fucking million troops,That fully equipped and half of that is veteran soldier from ww2. Tank, helicopter,plane,Radio, missile and all of that was up to date technology war machine (best example is b52). They call three of thier allies to aid them in the first part of the war,Great britain,France, Australia . They spend 2 fucking trillion dollar (at that time)to fund that war alone (not including the part they support the Diem regime) . And finally, they use more bomb in Vietnam than in ww2. Maybe you right about the part they don't go full force,They don't use nuke yet,but if they do,That will be the most humiliated defeat for the US. Your citizen vote to end the war not because they love Vietnamese people,it is because thier son,thier husband being killed on Vietnamese soil for an unwinable war they used to support.
