No CGI, no stunt double in this movie. When I first saw this fight scene, I was sold, the torch bearer after Bruce Lee. Not Jackie Chan, not Jet Li, not even Donnie Yen. Tony Jaa's fighting character in Ong Bak 1 - 3 and Protectors has got to be the most devastating and believable style to ever come up on Film, no flying, no wires, specifically this movie has set the stage of brutal choreographed fighting. If I have to download in the matrix ONE martial arts fighting style in my brain, it would have to be all of muay thai!
@@rittzbyitch3682 I don't know man, I find Donnie Yen on par to be honest, it's not as brutal, but coreography wise, both are simply amazing. (Ip man vs 10 B-belts is kinda brutal though)

This fight is so amazing considering the fact that Muay Thai is proclaimed to have been one of the most effective fighting style for both professional and street fights
you're wrong. karate is the most effective in both professional and street fights, and the better martial arts than boxing, muay thai, brazillian jiu jitsu, etc. karate has a lot of striking moves than those martial arts i mentioned.
@@fishballs9684There is no martial art that does suck (Okay, Russian slap style but we'll ignore that). It all depends on how you execute your moves. Just one martial art won't work in a street fight, however, its the combinations that matter.
@@fishballs9684no offense but you sound like a casual. Look up Wonderboy or GSP. Andy Hug.. Sam Greco, Peter Graham.. Akio Morí (Musashi). Some of the best standup fighters come from Kyokoshin and some even come from Okinawa karate like Lyoto machida
Note that when Tony Jaa decides to fight Big Bear, it is when he saw that he was abusing the weakest. That feeling of protection and sense of justice are the foundations of martial arts. Greetings from Spain.
He fights a lot like goku from dragon ball z The longer he’s in a fight the faster he learns about his opponent like his fighting style and strengths and weaknesses..and then he learns it so fast that he predicts when and where a punch or kick is going to be and responds accordingly...such an awesome fight scene

Still a legendary fight scene to this day
Dude is in the Bruce lee spectrum of fight scene lol such an under rated fight movie actor
He's not underatted.
Hes my brother actually
He has Bruce Lee skill with his legs using them to block and jab,
This movie was that 🔥 🔥 🔥 when it dropped back in the day. Still holds up even in 2021 would definitely say this is one of THE BEST action movies ever created

"Music!!!" I have totally forgotten this. 😂
So much nostalgia this movie. I was very young in my 20's in a bus on my way for my work's course. As I was about to fell asleep the bus driver switched on the dvd the tv and played this movie. I was hooked along the journey because this movie seems different and I never watch something like this in my life. Too realistic and since then it sparked me to learned Martial Art. The funny thing is I'm not learning Muay Thai right now. I'm learning Judo and BJJ. 😁
hahahahahaha. ...
I Have Watched The Full Movie Myself.. With The Sad Part Being Hum Lae's Death.. Hey Which One Do You Think Is Better? Blu Ray? DVD? HD DVD?
BJJ is good though
Tony jaa makes me proud to be part Thailand 😊👊🏻🔥
Congratulations

Love from this INDIA 🇮🇳
Eu sempre amei artes marciais, treinei Taekwondo na infância e adolescência, mas abondei o esporte na vida adulta, mas esse filme fez reacender em mim o desejo pelas artes marciais, em especial o Muay Thai, com certeza voltarei a treinar.
Watching this movie after learning Muay Thai, is another perspective
They respected so much the actual movements, its impressive
Imma learn it soon can u give me some tips
I watched this movie when I was in high school. I used to practice these moves in front of mirror and wish that someone fights with me the next day at school...lol
Haha
Well real fights starts with a slap on face and ends with ripped shirt.

Same😂
This is still me
4:52 special cameo from the late great Yodtong Siriwala or Kru Tui, former champion fighter, trainer and owner of Sidyodtong Muay Thai camp. Ting performs a flying knee over Big Bear's kick and connects to his head. Kru Tui remarks "Hanuman Kham Longka" or (Monkey God) Hanuman Crosses the city of Lanka. The poetic name of this leaping knee kick technique based upon the Thai Ramakien or Hindu Ramayana epic.
Yeah 👍 Glory to Hanuman
Yes hanuman had come to our country once.
Que dit Ting lors de son premier coup de pied à Big Bear ?

Omg!!! This movie 2003 after 21 years still so fun
One of a kind best moi-thai movies of all time way back to early 2000, and it's very nice watching it now again in 2024

I was born in the '80s. I always like movies like bloodsport, Jet Li movies, etc but IP Man (all) and this Ong Bak are the best I have ever seen. Amazing.
Yep
The coldest move in this whole damn scene is at 14:40 when homeboy yelled "music"...and commenced to giggin.
pCuliar MANN2020 😂😂🤣yea I remember that
What's the song called?
came here for that "music" part but ended up watching the whole clip

Absolute S tier movie! Watched it as kid , still blows my mind to this date

More impressive is that it wasn't just a kick, Tony was flexible enough to basically make it look like he was stepping on the other guy.
Hello
9:22 everybody gangsta until Ricardo shows up
Hahaha
and he gets his ass whooped
Ricardo Milos?
Or until Tony Jaa shows up.
LaFlare 1017 I think that’s what he referenced it to
Until now, I have not seen a movie with such realism in combat, and what makes this clip even more beautiful is the music
9:20 this is my best part of the movie fight scene in the club with mad dog 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The last dude was epic. When he ran put of stuff to throw, he started throwing people.
Haha lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He even took a hostage 🤣
14:38 I love how after the fight the fuzz bust in and the host just starts dancing. 😂
Song name?
Haha great touch😂
He knows he's fucked, so might as well enjoy the last few seconds..

Quite possibly the best fight scene in any movie. So entertaining.
That hand and leg blocking at 7:43 was so lit
One of the best and saddest movies ever. More realistic than 90% of martial arts movies out there. Also gives insight to reality and how things are in his home land. Him and a few others from growing up I had the most influence from. 👌👌💪💪🙏🙏
What a movie this was...the action blew my mind when i watched it for the first time...and it still does!
We love you Omg Bak! Muy Thai is awesome.
No dull moment. Year ago, I recall watching Ong-Bak several times in one month even when I have other movies to watch. There are very few movies that have made same impression on me as Ong-Bak. Simply exhilarating.
I had never seen such word before. Exhilarating, lol. Had to google it. And totally agree.

I remember my cousin rented this from family video when him and his baby mama were living with us me and my brother were practicing the fight moves for months we never could understand what they were saying but the movie will always be a part of me
You've been focus to the fight, but do you guys realized that in 10:33 the guy in tony's left side suddenly dissapear in 10:34 than appear again in a second after ? That guy is a magical man!
Phase Shifting, he's practiced The Voice...
That is a strange cut i wonder why they didnt do a retake. Not a big deal since its not distracting
@@DravenBlackWriteskarate sucks😂, there’s barely any street fights on karate
@@fishballs9684There is no martial art that does suck (Okay, Russian slap style but we'll ignore that). It all depends on how you execute your moves. Just one martial art won't work in a street fight, however, its the combinations that matter.
@@DravenBlackWrites Ballot kicks on tippy toes more deadly. Karate no toes just tippy

Yeap from kenya 🇰🇪 africa
Yes. 🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭
Note that when Tony Jaa decides to fight Big Bear, it is when he saw that he was abusing the weakest. That feeling of protection and sense of justice are the foundations of martial arts. Greetings from Spain.
4:55 that movement is so dope
And it suite the music too
The move is called Hanuman visiting Lanka
@@hellspawndarksage876 no its not. Did you even click on the timestamp? He's just getting into his stance. The knee to the head is the Hanuman
@@jordanbomb32 I think he is referring to the name of the gesture.
He fights a lot like goku from dragon ball z
The longer he’s in a fight the faster he learns about his opponent like his fighting style and strengths and weaknesses..and then he learns it so fast that he predicts when and where a punch or kick is going to be and responds accordingly...such an awesome fight scene
Twenty years later and this is still one of the bad ass fight ever!
probably one of the best muay thai movies.
This never gets old
I was pleasantly surprised the first time I watched this movie. The choreography is just great. I don't think enough people have watched it.
the old Thai dude recognizing all the moves is the BEST part of this whole scene

My wife uses the 3rd style when she's angry with me😂😂😂
HAH!!! Mine uses the first style. She spits in my face, says f- you, and acts all cocky in my face and trash talks while I try to just do my stuff and ignore her.
I Never Knew She Could Throw People At You..
It's a movie that awakens your masculinity. It made me love Muay Thai.
I first saw this in France on a school exchange. I went to the cinema and did not understand a single word but this movie blew my mind.
4:53 the old guy said which got translated in captions "Hanuman visits Lanka" which is a direct reference to HINDU EPIC RAMAYAN. in the epic Lord HANUMAN visits Lanka, evil king RAVAN capital and puts the city to ashes.
Every move, intention, trajectory, precision, impact hits of muay thai is so satisfying to watch even now. Top level choreography & stunts by tony jaa and team.
I don’t think this will ever get old. The traction this movie gotten towards Muay Thai would’ve been phenomenal.
