Ah so much love for UM, a beautiful thing to see, especially since they're so underground despite their talents. One of Fuki's previous bands, Light Bringer, is also a great band, a bit more focused on the visual key part but with a lot of power metal feel behind it, kinda like UM. No violin there but there's a great keyboardist on it who's also the same person that helps writing quite a bunch of Lovebites songs. Also, in some Light Bringer songs, Fuki sings with a deeper voice compared to UM songs, it's worth checking out for sure. Merrymaker and Resistance are two great examples of what I just mentioned.
Stick with Unlucky Morpheus my friend. In the future maybe you gone react to their albums ("Change Of Generation" or "Unfinished" are both superb) and you will genuinely fall in love with them. I see recomendations for other Fuki's projects, and they are good but she peak with UM. Her encounter with Jill (violinist) in a band with such quality was made in heaven. So underrated man, what a shame for music lovers.
You REALLY need to checkout their LIVE cover of "Eruption" (Jill on violin) straight into "Dance of eternity" !! No singing but the band shines in perfection!!!
I have gone from like to love with Unlucky Morpheus too. This is one of my favourite songs of the year so far. All are spectacular musicians. Fuki is incredible, but I can't stop watching Fumiya the drummer. Absolute beast!!
The music and visuals in the video give kind of a storytelling operettic presentation similar to what Lovebites did with their last videos for the Glory to the World EP. Nightwish comes to mind for doing a lot of things with an operettic presentation and have been doing so for several decades.

It's probably what Matt said... But as sebastien noted, most acoustic instruments have somewhere to plug in their instrument for an amp and the amp can add distortion.
each element is extremely well done, and others have done similar, for me it never feels like Unlucky Morpheus ever quite nails the blend. Like on this track I hear EPIC Symphony, Speed Metal and J-Pop/Anime vocals. All well executed... but I hear them as 3 separate layers. The layers don't meld harmoniously, but are doing an oil/water thing, and to my ear stay as 3 very separate sounds. :/ (honestly the opening made me think Sabaton) Mad talented but... the mix doesn't grab me.

Just got the new live Blu-Ray..... Just trying to get some time to watch it now! UM is a gem!

Non musician and a genuine question. How do you turn on distortion on a acustic instrument? Thought that came from pedals and stuff
in studio, she can use a "plugged in violon" or the sound ingeneer can just add effects on the violon track during this section
