  • Check out the inside of a typical Australian home, this one needs a total strip out but paint the walls and Australians would class it as renovated, I have different standards the whole place wants stripping out and restarting !

It was called AIB or Asbestolux board and they used to mine it in Australia in a town called Wittenoom. Appreciate the video mate! Matt, Chippy, UK

I’m used to working in old Victorian uk houses and I would be amazed if I haven’t been exposed to asbestos there but I am 100% more wary here, it is everywhere, thanks for watching, are you heading over here ?

It’s good we love it, just got back from the beach, housing is the main bug bear here it’s not cheap expect to pay $600-1100 per week in rent and if your buying probably the same upwards.
Wages are ok employed and self employed you can earn quite a lot, I’m switching to self employed.
Only issue you will have is licensing you need Australian qualifications so transfer your skills

Hi mate, want to get back out to Brisbane to live permanently. Got an nvq 2 in carpentry and 2 years experience. Would you recommend getting my level 3 before attempting the move or just getting the 3 more years experience? Can get another WHV from July next year with the new updates, so wanted to go around then and hopefully jump on a skilled visa once I’ve met the experience requirements. Finding your channel was the motivation I needed 🤙

Hi mate you will need to get the skills transferred over to AQF, I only have my NVQ 2 I left college and didn’t get my NVQ 3, I wish I had just for the paperwork but I learned a lot more on site.
If you Google gimbal group brisbane they can advise on getting rpl recognition of prior learning, carpentry here is nothing like the uk you have to learn how to do things wrong in Australia 😂
Because you haven’t got more than 3 year’s experience as a carpenter you will lose points on a 190 visa but by getting work experience in Aus you will get the points there.
Speak to The down under centre in the uk they are great for getting your visa and they can also sort out the rpl with gimbal just see if direct is cheaper.
Honestly no one has asked for a certificate here, if you can do the work they keep you on so NVQ is enough to get rpl and then you can get AQF3 in carpentry
Thanks for watching if you have anything you want to see let me know, gives me ideas for videos when I get a chance to edit them 😅

Exactly what i needed to hear trying to find this kind of info on Google feels impossible! 😂 will get on to the company’s you mentioned and a video showing the differences between UK and Aus carpentry would be great 👍 if I think of anything else will let you know. Thanks pal

Or you could do a real Australian apprenticeship like the rest of us and not cheat getting RPL. And things aren’t “wrong”. There are carpenters and tilers here that leave UK tradies for dead
